We have to expect teams to set up like Barrow did today, 10 men behind the ball, leave two up when defending corners and try and blag a goal, I thought Barrow played brilliantly today, they must have thought they got a point and switched off. Fair play to our lads for keeping going, fuckin superb mentality and you cannot teach that. Our main problem today was quality ( or lack of ) of our play around their 18 yard box . Far too many poor crosses and bad decision making , but the play up to that area was really good against a really solid defence , just lack of quality around their box is what made it harder than it was . But another 3 points and these really are the type of results that end up with promotion.

Bruce would of never recycled the ball as much as this a little bit more attacking intent instead of going backwards sometimes would make a difference and may be win a bit more comfortably . The players we have brought in have made a massive difference well done evatt 👏 I hear you and agree. We are still too slow at moving the ball. I can understand that, takes time to bed the new players in and get them up to speed. They should be there now. Marry that with confidence of winning games, I’d like to see us really step up the performances a notch now. Tranmere have had 2 great wins this week but others will slip. Cambridge, Morecambe and Cheltenham are really not very good. Mid table teams from what I’ve seen. Just got to keep chipping away
Dimron 79
I remember saying that this was a defensive master-class. Feel for Barrow but when it ain't happening for you this is what happens. Similarly when you are on a run... Regarding the commentary, I don't mind the "experts" but it is getting like BWFC Family Favourites with all the birthdays and anniversaries... maybe we should get Ed Stewpot in? By all means suggest it looked offside after the event, but not as it happens. I don't know if it was him or someone else but Tower FM used to have a co-commentator who would shout "goal" every time we had a chance at goal. Just describe what's happening first. It was offside. The linesman didn't have the bottle to raise his flag with that celebration going on, just wanted to get off and have a brew
Mr Grey 805
43 minutes ago, Cheese said: It was a fair shout from Henshaw. It did look offside. Rather have someone who says it how it is than a happy-clapper. Have you got any suggestions? I haven't any suggestions, I like Henshaw as a person, he's just a bit bland and monotone, what about Owen Coyle, he's a bit chirpy 😁

He'd also done one in the first half and got away with it. To be honest, we manage to get away with foul throws just about every throw we get under the cameras. But that's beside the point, which was that it isn't the commentators place to call it as it happens (unless the flag is up). But anyway, we move on.

Henshaw's "research" tweet in the week was embarrassing. As was him asking mid-match what MJ stands for. Eyre is more knowledgeable about the game, unfortunately as the game goes on, the more irritating he gets.
Site Supporter Tony 20 Posted February 27 Site Supporter Share Posted February 27 Good to win in the end, but that was hard to watch. Passing was laboured, too many players with a poor touch and don't get me started on the crossing. Got lucky at the end, may have been a penalty for Barrow and my first thoughts on the goal was that it was offside. However, it was an emphatic finish. I am OK with the commentary and the analysis. Isgrove sub was a mystery to me .Arthur & Millar should start next game .Doyle's first touch was dreadful today & he looked jaded time for a rest. Agree with comments on Jones .Brockbank offers more going forward . Missed gorgeous George today with his better range of passing Got away with it today .Much better performances will be required the next two games. Didn't get to see it today, and delighted with the win. Not unexpected that the game would be tough, given Barrow don't concede many per game. I was a little surprised that GT wasn't used today because of his range of passing, and perhaps utilise MJW and Lee in the coming away games. Anyway, a win is a win. Keep the run going and the ultimate prize is available.
Johnnyrotten 273
The 2 late winners last 2 Saturdays by Miller highlight one of the big differences between watching on i-player and being in the ground. Not being able to share the moment with others is the obvious one, but also if I'd been there for either goal I would have immediately looked at the ref/linesman, as I do with most goals if there's any possibility of it not counting, and at least after a second or 2 I would have known it counted. Even when Miller was sliding on his knees today I wasn't sure. Bring on next season, can't wait to celebrate a goal properly.
