jmjhb
I'd be very surprised if the South American bid doesn't win 2030 Having 4-5 hosts is a bit crap if they all expect to qualify automatically. Not a vote winner Edited March 2, 2021 by jmjhb

Would it not be an English bid with token games being played in Glasgow Cardiff Dublin and Belfast ? Rest would just be piggy backing on an English bid Therefore only England should get a free pass Brexit border might create interesting issues for any travelling supporters trying to take food etc into Ireland

Even the EU bureaucracy could organise themselves by then.

Hopefully - needs to be a carefully worded bid by the "United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland "with a Caveat that if the Scots vote for independence in the meantime and are no longer part of the United Kingdom they are excluded , that should make them think twice Edited March 2, 2021 by Benny The Ball

jeep
As much as it would be good for the 5 nations to host it there would be a better chance if England just went solo..... It would free up more qualification spaces in UEFA if we go it alone..... But I think we're wasting our time, the 2030 world cup will go to the South American bid of Uruguay, Argentina, Chile & Paraguay.... Not because theirs is the best but rather that it'll be 100 years since the 1st world cup in Uruguay....

Would this mean all 5 qualify automatically?

Wembley, Emirates, Old Trafford, Etihad, White Hart Lane, Anfield All have good transport networks, all over 50k Its not as if we need Hampden or Aviva to do it

And England is the perfect size. But this co-hosting shit is something FIFA unofficially likes and encourages. Sharing the love, so to speak. Even though I don't like it a British Isles bid is far more attractive to the world than an England bid.
