Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 12, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted May 12, 2021 Is Morecambe the same dreary place it was 30 years ago? Shitty student accommodation and tacky tourist tat stalls?

Traf
Morecambe's OK, no delusions of grandeur, just a working class town that happens to be by the sea. Enough pubs to drink in.

If you are walking the prom in Morecambe, why would you walk towards Heysham looking at the power station, when if you walked in the opposite direction you could have one of the finer views this country has to offer over the bay towards the lakes? Just don't look in land!! Few good pubs around the area, the crossing micropub at Hest Bank is worth a visit, and the Hest Bank itself has a nice beer garden on the canal and used to be good for food, but not been that way in a few years

Really nice & not too busy at the time - it'll be better when the pubs are open though!

Traf
I walk along that stretch quite often. Might have a mooch out tomorrow if the dry forecast comes true.
