Why would anyone not? If we lived in a dictatorship and were told who will represent us you wouldn’t get the opportunity.

It’s a free world

No. Just took mrs esco to the polling station to vote though. Very well organized and very quickly done.

It’s a free world, but how come you don’t turn out to vote against the SNP?

So it’s a free world but you feel obliged to ask why Esco didn’t vote?

Never going to get beaten in Scotland now as long as I’m alive sadly. Where I live is usually a labour seat . I couldn’t vote for either at present. If Ruth had still been in charge I may have finally cast a vote (unlikely but more of a chance) but Douglas Ross is a melt as well. That leaves the greens who are baby snp here and the local krank candidate.

as I’ve also said if Scotland became independent I would move south of the border again as well.

on the slim chance indyref2 is granted I will once again cast a vote though.

Just interested, not insistent that he should.

Maybe because esco doesn't like them?

As it happens, he doesn't vote in general so would probably explain it.

This business of voting for a mayor- don't quite get the second choice business.

I'm still struggling with the first choice business... Can't see why we need to waste a salary on one, especially one as useless as Burnham.

Apparently, the two highest first choices, Conservative and Labour go forward and have second votes added to their totals.

I also wrote “Boris Johnson breastfeeds JRM” on the wall for good measure.

Well yes, but that's a different story!

The second vote business as highlighted above suggests that they don't expect many votes for any of them, and are just trying to make the winner seem more important!

It’s even more complex up here. You have two votes and both can in essence result in people being elected to holyrood. It’s a proper mindfuck and I honestly wouldn’t be able to figure it out if I tried.

And as for kranks there is an independent candidate in Ruth Davidson’s old constituency called Bonnie Prince Bob. He was 500/1 when he first said he was standing was down to 20/1 last night 😂
