Couple of things

It's just Pixies, not The Pixies

What's so good about Happy Mondays? Their biggest hit was a cover, and part of their appeal was a drugged up dancer, I'm not saying they are shit, but they seem out of place in that list

It's just an opinion but for me a lot of the other baggy bands sort of grafted on dance music or had someone remix their original work. The Happy Mondays seemed different as they were a funk band, not an indie band that changed their sound.

Plus, I'd argue Ryder was the best lyricist out of that bunch (including the Roses)

Have you seen him take the piss out of Ian Brown in that interview this week in a gentle but funny way. Was always as sharp as a tack that man.

they must be absolutely minted, cos they're only a hug  & kiss away from making millions

I do think this is a great opening line

"Son, I'm 30

I only went with your mother 'cause she's dirty"

Can you just imagine the audience? Fucking hell.

I bet someone like that not 19 forever band would be in support.

Context my dear friend. No problem with them, but if your looking for political songs with a slightly more nuanced message than, grrrrr mum won't let me paint my room black, I'd go elsewhere.

'Everyone I know, is more relvent than anyone you know...''

And if you are going for pretentious, know it all musos, I'd go for Nick Kent. Paul Gambaccini seems too nice a fella.

Oasis brought out two ground breaking albums. Changed the music world. Good on them

Followed them up with three half decent albums.

Disappeared up their own arse after about 2005

Noel became a self important cunt, Liam became a Simpsons character

But those first two albums……

Don't forget the Masterplan album . A collection of B- Sides that piss all over a lot of Bands A- Sides , the last album was a very good one also.

Little story for you from Knebworth.

I knew a girl who was in the minibus with the band as they made their way through the crowds back to their hotel.

Liam spent the whole journey spitting out of the window all over his adoring public.

Twat.

They went in and out by Helicopter .

I saw Coldplay supporting The Manics at the Apollo in 2001. They were utterly awful.

Really like em otherwise like. They’ve made some ace stuff and are still churning them out now. Fair fucks to em.

Radiohead aren’t for me. Boring weirdos with funny eyelids and webbed fingers.
