Site Supporter Spider Posted May 14, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted May 14, 2021 They won't reform for one reason and one reason only - Liam's voice isn't up to it. They'd have to change the key of most of their songs just so he didn't sound like he was having a seizure. Elton John started doing it years ago and sounds fucking rank live. Its just you need a bit more - and yes a bit of pretentiousness - to really create something groundbreaking and new. There was a lot of dross knocking about in the early 90s Whilst Oasis maybe not original to some, they were new to others Even in Britpop there was a load of shite bands who produced either one half decent song or album whose songs only get played on Absolute Radio 90s or they’re now cashing in on an anniversary release of an album

As for exciting to be knocking on 50 & strutting around like you are 18 with a bad ass attitude is frankly quite sad & pathetic. Like I said each to their own. I'm just expressing my opinion, if it floats your boat that's great. It'd be boring if we all felt the same. "Decent Music" opinion is subjective, like your opinion on Liam, and mine even. Popular is fact, based on numbers. He is popular, thats a fact, and he is popular because lots people like him. If the general / popular opinion was of yours, he would not be popular. Hence, he is relavant. Edited May 14, 2021 by Pablo

Pablo
Always lots of bitterness about Liam & Noel. Its really strange, you dont see most of us younger ones so bitter about older bands or even new ones we may not be into. I recon is an angry old man thing..... Moderators Carlos Posted May 14, 2021 Moderators Share Posted May 14, 2021 I went to watch Oasis (for free) in Avenham Park, Preston in the summer of 94. I was at uni there but had moved home. On the train back, it was fucking brilliant. All the Mancs singing "we hate Bolton and we hate Bolton". Living in their heads rent free. There were a couple of copyright issues regarding Oasis, Stevie Wonder was credited as co-writer of Step Up due to the similarity of Wonder's Uptight (Everything's All Right), and Neil Innes was credited as co-writer for the song Whatever due to the similarity of Innes' How Sweet It Is To Be An Idiot.
