Black man's pinch

I've never heard of this saying till today.

Was in a school earlier today and overheard a few teacher talking. A kid had a nasty blister caused in school somehow.

A TA while speaking to the mother of the child at hometime called the blister a black man's pinch.

Today the school received a 3 page complaint letter.

It will be interesting to see how the school handles the complaint.

Is it just me that has never heard of this saying and is it offensive?

No and you would need to ask a person of colour. As I don’t know how a middle aged white Person can find it offensive?

Either way, I'm sure a TA should know better than to use that sort of phrase, only asking for trouble really.

Like you, I don't know if it's offensive or not, it probably is to some people and not to others.

no doubt this will end in pages of how wrong it is

I actually heard it a few months ago, the first time I'd heard it for years. The MiL said it, as she'd trapped her finger at work and had one of them horrible blood blisters

And those people who like to be offended on other people’s behalf. Can’t think what the term is to describe them though off the top of my head

Never heard the phrase but like others,  I find it incomprehensible a TA would use this in conversation.

It'd be interesting to know the skin colour of both the TA and the mother.  Also,  the opening post doesn't make it clear if the complaint came from the person the TA spoke to.

I'm sorry MickyD.

TA - White

Mother - White

The complaint came from the mother of child with - blister/black man's pinch.

Never heard of it before.

Fucking stupid thing to say.  I can only assume the TA is someone in their 50s or older.  Probably refers to a colour of brown as "n*gger brown" and thinks there's nothing wrong with saying that.

Probably not even racist either, just uneducated.
