Wouldn't like to suggest there's a link between getting full pay and being a lead swinging cunt without more evidence of course.

I want to join the lead swinging cunts but I'm not getting pinged 😞

Big drop in cases today.

Now the holidays are here, what’s the betting people won’t go for a test if it threatens their week or two away??

Its bollocks now. Most of it is folk wanting to lounge around. Furlough made a lot of people lazy.

The economy needs everyone working, it really does. Or we sleepwalk into a recession which was already lurking.

Not sure about a lurking recession and unemployment didn't fall to anticipated levels during all this. Loads of jobs available now too.

Without doubt a workshy element that have got worse during the pandemic, who'd rather complain at losing a temporary uplift in their benefits than go and earn significantly more.

At the same time some trades etc are snowed under and making some proper coin.

Had an eye test this morning, and the lass doing it was coughing continually!

Went into Boots and got some tests, while queuing a grey haired woman without a mask pushed past "excuse me" and picked up some cough mixture from the shelf next to me.

You can't make it up... I was infected but I was wearing a medical standard mask... it'll serve the old cow right if she got it!

went to Manchester Craft Beer Festival on Saturday

invevitably I got pinged earlier telling me to isolate for 7 days

booked a PCR test right away and just been

got no issue doing the time, but, the woman at the test centre said as I'm not showing symptoms, if it comes back negative, I can crack on

is that right?

can't see anything on the gov website about that being the case

I suppose the app will tell me when I submit my result, maybe

If the app pings you it isn't legally enforceable. If T&T ring you and tell you to isolate then it is

Over here if you are infected and you are out and about (like in the German equivalent of Boots for example) you face a fine of up to 25,000 euro. If you then pass it to someone else you could be jailed for up to 5 years. I'm not sure how it would serve her right being as you should be in Quarantine :)

So you had symptoms, yet still went out to Boots to buy tests? I don't think "the old cow" is the guilty party in this scenario...

I had minor symptoms... I would describe like man flu or a cold... I couldn't know I was infected until I got some tests. I had a medical grade mask on and respected social distance unlike the daft old cow (who was actually buying cough mixture).

If all new cases had symptoms like mine I would agree with Javid and say it isn't worth shutting the economy down.

I thought if you had symptoms you was to have a PCR test not a lft?

You should have gone for a PCR test at a testing centre, or ordered one through the post, like you're supposed to if you've got symptoms. Not go down to the fucking shops to mingle with all the old cows.

Fuck me, a 10-second google search would have told you that.

so the question for me is what's the actual difference then between a ping and a phone call

i.e. what is the criteria?

I assume they both work off the same data from your phone

not showing symptoms or anything

but happy to stay at home and the mrs takes the little one swimming like is happening right now

and the dog for a walk, and get my beers

only thing I'd really miss out on isolating is going the gym but I can always do something at home

got to say

if this Saturday was MK Dons, I'd probably still go if I do an LFT every day til Saturday (7 days) and they all came back negative

Sounds like you should have got yourself down to a test centre, not gone shopping.

There were two approaches yesterday:

Dimron: I woke up with cold symptoms and a tickly throat. I decided the right thing was to do an indicative test. I went to collect a test kit wearing an FFP3 mask even in when walking in the street from the car and avoiding everyone. Used the hand sanitisers on offer at all times.

Grey haired old cow: Boris has told me it's all over but i've got a tickly throat. I don't have to wear a mask any more so I'll just march into Boots and push that silly socialist looking man wearing a mask out of the way and buy some cough mixture. I don't need to test because I am superior to all this and my tweed skirt is a badge of honour.

I've had a follow up PCR test this morning at a drive through but the result can take two days during which I could be infecting everyone.

I believe I have done the right thing and don't fuck and blind me pal.

You did the wrong thing. The "right thing" would've been to follow NHS guidance and order a PCR test, or rock up to one of the many of the walk-in test centres BEFORE traipsing down to the shops.

Also, unless you discussed it with the "grey haired old cow", you're assuming she was buying the cough medicine for herself. Probably to make you feel better about your own bad decision.
