The promotion leading up to the first game in Orlando has been very much instrumental in getting a 60,000 plus crowd. Not so sure about the next game. I moved to Orlando last summer from the frozen wasteland of Michigan. The Orlando City promotions dept used every kind of media to get across the 'fill the bowl' message. Pub crawls, fun runs, free transport, screenings in city centre all went to spread the word.
I didnt go but chose to watch in a sports bar outside of the city where I had to ask for one of the thirty plus tvs be changed from NASCAR to 'soccer'. Which did attract a few more watchers. So the rest of the country is still catching up. But it is definately growing.
