  1. Is it though. 2000 plus folk have decided to travel to watch a team wearing the Bolton shirt. Knowing in all reality we have little or no chance of a result. I'm doing it because, I'm happy to have a team/club to watch and not really arsed about the score. I very much doubt if Tranmere were in the same position, they could muster that type/quality of following to our place. I'm actually proud.

  2. What a load of over exaggerated shit. We’re still alive and we’re competitive. We’ve got 1 point from 3 which is more than some league teams. Yes the kids look knackered but if you’re telling me they’d rather go back to playing in front of their family and a few dogs on Saturday rather than 2,000 fans who will back then whether they win lose or draw them you’re mad. We’re in the shit; we all know we are. We’re holding things together by a thread, but we still had 2,200 fans in an away end backing the club for the afternoon. That’s all that matters. I want the takeover to happen, I want us to be competitive, but for as long as it doesn’t happen I will pay to watch these young lads play for Bolton. I don’t care if we lose, I will cheer a corner and free kicks like a goal and a point feels like we’ve won the league: If we’re in league 2 next season but have FV as owners then so be it: We’ll take thousands to Salford and show them what a proper club is all about. Just be patient and give the kids as much support as you can for now.

  3. Think Parkinson’ s comments in Bolton news sums it up “Forget all the lawyers making loads of money out of this situation, the main players in the deal should go somewhere, sit down in a room, and don’t come out until it is sorted. It’s as simple as that. “I’d imagine we are making some lawyers really, really rich. Sort this situation out. “We are Bolton Wanderers, one of the founder members of the Football League, and we’ve had enough. “It is just unacceptable.”

  5. I object to all that too, I do accept we have to cut them some slack on a lot of stuff because they are well out of their comfort zones. I don't think it's 'daft' to ask that subject matter experts like yourself do likewise. Don't let your crusade become your raison d'etra because sadly it detracts from the rest of your content which is informative. The irony is that you have made it your agenda to call out others for having an agenda.

  6. Who the hell is suggesting we don't play? PISS OFF Care of duty to the kids? PISS OFF! you bunch of snowflakes! Tell 15 yr old Franny Lee if he wanted a care of duty! We are where we are & it's not great, nor ideal, but I'll bet you a penny to a pinch of shit those lads are loving every minute of this opportunity. Remember when you were a kid? You were playing everyday, school, local club, county, academy! Care of duty..PISS OFF. I'd rather watch them men/kids giving it there all, than the Shite I've watched supposed professionals dish up in the last 6 years plus. I've started enjoying football again, they've gave 100% so I'll give them 100% support back. There's 5 Lads out of those playing recently that I think are good enough for their chance & will build over the next couple of years or so. I've watched worse supposed professional sides than that, some folk have short memories. Last year I left games after we went 1-0 down, because it WAS game over. This year so far, I've stopped to the end everytime to applaud them off. If you don't understand why.... No need to apply

  8. Absolute bollocks this isn't a case of making some fans more realistic or hardened to our situation. We know our situation, it's still on the precipice of not existing. We need salvation and we need it now.

  10. Iles is employed by the Bolton news, that’s his full time job, he has a wife and family, he probably gets gets a decent salary, it’s a job many people would love to do, watching/reporting on the club you support, why would he risk losing his job dishing dirt on players/management of BWFC If he upset people within the Club his job would be come untenable, he will know players/ management personally and he will know exactly what’s going on, more than anybody on this forum, but he will have to keep his council The articles that appear in the BN are 24hours out of date by the time it goes on sale His Twitter account is more of his thoughts and opinions but it’s obvious he would not be allowed to say what he knows. The abuse he gets on here, imo, is unwarranted, he’s just another source of reporting that people can use along with Twitter, Forums, hearsay to form an opinion, I suspect most of anti- Iles brigade on here have had a Twitter spat with said journalist and lost, it’s better to have Iles and the BN than not

  17. I'm a shit fan and circumstances meant I went on my own today AND drove. Listened to the same folk as always on GMR after the game who don't go but obsess where gate receipts are going and am currently pissed and trying to convince yoof that a drive to gillingham is just what the doctor ordered. Fuck the takeover, fuck the administrators, fuck the lawyers. At the minute every game we play could be the last we ever play and that's all there is to it. Oh apart from if I'm shagging the wife at any time from now until I die and I feel a tap on my shoulder, look around and it's PP then I'll climb off and go after him.

  19. Its just until the sale goes through; I think the Bassini involvement would have made no difference as they are waiting the outcome of the hotel. Once its through we will get some recruits in ASAP. I agree if it goes on more than a couple more weeks though but it shouldn't

  23. Even if these kids never ultimately make a career for themselves in professional football (and some clearly will) their names will always be remembered at Bolton Wanderers. We do need to keep fulfilling the fixtures. Its horrible on days like today against teams with whom we have a rivalry. But there's a pulse, we're breathing and on we go.

  24. Exactly, we soldier on. I don’t do all this sympathetic stuff from other fans, I personally find it weak, I’d rather our club ride the storm and come out the other side with shoulders high. If we can put a team out we should, then one day at Wembley we can tell the grandkids with a tear in our eye that our young team and we fans fought for us to be here. Rough with the smooth.

  25. The whole thing is a pantomime now but all we can do is keep turning up, it's the only thing we have any control of. Straight red for me as well, both feet off the floor from where I was stood.

  26. I say it’s upto the players and the coaching staff to decide. If the players can go on and it’s safe to do so then we go on. It’s shitty and we are going to league 2 but let’s keep our pride fulfil our games if safe to do so and continue to support the lads who pull on the shirt.

  31. Let's imagine I am staying in Linton travel tavern. If I wish to watch the film 'Bangkok Chick Boys' when the option comes up to 'Watch Bangkok Chick Boys?' I tick the box that says 'Yes' , if I do not wish to watch this film I tick the box that says 'No.' So if I tick the box that says 'Yes', I do not expect to watch 'Driving Miss Daisy' instead. If you say that you think only three posters 'are the only sane ones on here at times' then by definition you think the others are not sane, at times. Though you say your inference of insanity is aimed at 'one or two.' So your reasoning doesn't stack up unless the forum only has five members, three sane ones plus the two in denial of reality, which is demonstrably horseshit. I'll leave it at that. 🙂

  32. That is, as has been pointed, out a huge disservice to the majority in here. You also have to remember i know about this sort of stuff but know very little about mist other things Sluffy. ‘This forum is what it is because of the wide range of folk on here and the various jobs etc. ‘Plus if you could see the state of me now after an all night bender that will extend until probably tomorrow morning at the earliest you would not class me as sane I assure you my advice would be lay off the digs at folk (unless of course they specifically target you first) and continue to share your passion and knowledge. I would maybe just moderate it slightly

  34. Yourself and all of the above post sensible stuff on this issue, setting aside Chris' apparent expectation that sports journalists should also be finance experts. Though you are doing a massive disservice to many on here with that comment. Ever wonder why you find yourself explaining the same thing repeatedly? That kind of stuff makes people stop reading imo.

  35. Interesting, thanks Benny. How does Bassini gain though? If FV walk and EDT paid up, then what is to stop the Administrator liquidating? Certainly the football club can't continue in the league if there is no one able to show the EFL a financial plan of backing them for the season ahead - Bassini not yet having ownership of BL. If Bassini has done deals with EDT, then who funds Administration continuing on the off chance he wins control of BL - he might not do. Wouldn't Appleton be left with no choice but to put BWFAC straight into liquidation in that scenario? In which case Bassini might eventually end up owning the shares in BL but by the time he does find the football club deceased and the stadium up for sale/sold. The injunction having had BL struck from it, gives no protection to Bassini that such would not happen prior to him winning his case. My guess is that nothing will crystallise before the judges findings are published and poured over due around the middle of next week and by then all the key players will probably wait the further fortnight to see what if anything comes from the 2nd September hearing. Anyway isn't the vastly more important point as to why the Administrator did not spend money, from his money tree, on strengthening the squad for Tranmere today!!! Keep up the good work mate. I think you @Escobarp and @Chris Custodiet are the only sane ones on here at times.

  36. I can't make it today - so can someone sing doubly loud on my behalf please? Hate these cunts with a passion. First game I ever went to was the final at Wembley. It wasn't so much the result that made me feel that way - it was their skiprat fans on the way down and on the way back. Remember walking into the toilet at the services and some little twat in a Tranmere top (who must have been about 10) - saying 'you've got a lot of bottle, you've got a lot of bottle, you've got a lot of bottle' every time someone walked past in a Bolton shirt. I was about 14 and it was the first time I'd ever wanted to knock someone out because of football. The whiny little shit. Anyway - he might be there today - so please give the sewer dwellers one from me and I'll buy you a pint at Doncaster. Sadly am expecting a drubbing today - but hope we can keep the support going which has been too drawer stuff so far! Kind Regards Kent

  37. I agree. I have said previously that I don’t know him personally but I know lots that do. Staff, players, his employers and personal friends and all I’ve spoken to have a lot of respect for him. At the end of the day he’s a Sports Journalist and in my opinion a good one. Having to unravel the financial fiasco that this club has found itself in would be a difficult task for even a FT bod.

  38. Doing what? Tell you what here’s a simple analogy. You could do with a pint but have no money in your bank. Nobody will buy you a pint so what do you do? you go without. Which part of there is no fucking money are you not getting? We cannot sign anyone we have no money to do so.

  39. People are just frustrated with being fed snippets that the deal is close to completion when it seems obvious that it can't be until the hotel issue is sorted, especially the one hour from completion nonsense last week. Whilst people wouldn't be happy I think it would be better if the admins kept it buttoned until its actually done & dusted.

  40. It’s all to do with pride, i will be there once again but there are certain teams i detest and this lot are up there. They may not have a group of world beaters but they are far more physical than we are and can do the full 90 mins. The other night at times I found myself almost wanting to run on the pitch and help the young lads, you can see many of them are playing out of their skin but one heavy tackle or bad mistake and they went to bits. This is my fear today.

  41. Who was it who took us to court this time? Thought it was the HMRC again Who was it who put us into administration this time? ED’s family again surely Its guesswork from both sides, but if the ED family stopped a liquidation event in 2019 then I believe they would have done the same in 2016 i don’t believe it ever even got in front of a judge in2016, let alone went through three adjournments

  42. As opposed to the unsecured creditors of 2018? What would've been better than either course, would've been if the custodians of the club had taken the difficult decisions to bring costs into line with revenues before they sold it on. That wouldn't have been an easy process, but managing that transition to being a club that lived within its means with a realistic hope of survival would've been a far more fitting legacy than the years of misery that BWFC employees, creditors and fans have undergone.

  46. Can't wait to see what they think up next to ruin the game. I can't help getting the impression that some refs are loving all the drama, giving them centre stage running to there little tellys. They are gradually taking away all the things that made the game so exciting. Taking away virtually any physical contact has turned it into a sport played by thespians & acrobats.
