Just warming up now. By fuck, it was cold. At the end of the game the supporters booed, as you’d expect. Dixon didn’t try to hide. He had the good grace to turn round to the baying masses and hold his hands up in a “Sorry folks, I proper fucked that up!” He got dog’s abuse by some. “Fuck of Dixon, you shit cunt!” was amongst the comments shouted. Sorry, but that isn’t acceptable. It’s a game of football for fuck’s sake. As a team, if the rest of the team had spent the previous 80 minutes doing their bit and had us leading by about 4 goal, Dixon’s fuck up wouldn’t have mattered a jot. Blame the defensive four for continually passing to each other without even looking for a penetrative pass. Blame the midfield for thinking they’re better than they actually are and continually making the wrong decision in front of goal. Passing when a shot is on and shooting when it needed to be passed. Blame the forwards for not realising the bit to aim for is surrounded by fucking big white poles with a net attached. This isn’t Aussie Rules or Gaelic Football where points are awarded for both sides of the posts. The keepers calamitous fuck up really shouldn’t have mattered.
  2. I'm gonna go round ripping them down 1969 against marriage

Sarcevic, like the rest of our midfield was often overwhelmed by the numbers in opposition. However, when he played, he often dictated the tempo of the team and we moved the ball quicker around the middle. He offered a goal threat too. He was a big loss imo.

So you either think we aren’t getting out of league one anytime soon or you think we’re going to have a full turnover of 23 players, either way I reckon you’re talking out of your turd cutter

He wasn't particularly good at any of those three qualities

Cotton mills of Manchester / Lancs supported Lincoln and his abolition of slavery actions ,in the main despite it costing them due to him blockading southern cotton states and causing a shortage of cotton ( and so work ) he wrote a letter of thanks for that support and for them putting principles of anti slavery before their own profit so when two statues were given to England , one was given to Manchester and the letter is on the plinth

Cotton still grows all over winter hill, cos of the mills. We used to be the Silicon Valley of the world. Theres a bloke in Australia who thinks we still are, like one of them Jap soldiers stuck in the jungle still thinking the wars on.
  16. I’ve heard he’s already thrown his glass eye into the ring for the BBC dramatisation

Watching it now. Shows what a fucking nightmare Social Services have to deal with. "He dint do noffin!" What are they supposed to do? Take the kids away from them and they're fucking "interfering busy-body do-gooders", let it go and "they're useless cunts who should have saw the signs and intervened earlier". Massive respect to anyone who does that sort of job. Feel a bit uncomfortable watching it to be honest. It's basically The Jeremy Kyle Show but a lot darker and with more uniforms.

I raised that observation months back there’s no consistency about him at times he looks composed as fuck then others like he’s got a mistake waiting to happen

I quite rate him, good with his feet, great at taking crosses , shot stopping he needs to find his voice one bad mistake doesn’t make a bad keeper Fuck me does Santos not know what angles are the amount of times he would go square on for a pass, puts the keeper under so much pressure
  31. My take on him has been the same for a while. A good lad that will improve. Not currently at the level our fans demand the club should be at. His work rate, showing for the ball etc is not in doubt. I dont think that Evatt rates him and he will be back to a place on the bench as soon as he can get players in. I am with Evatt.

Yep, there's no money left for furlough, so there'll be no lockdown. The "entitled" will have to carry on working, like us self employed have had to.

A lot more pissed off than I should be, probably cause I’ve travelled all that way in hope and expectation. And the romantic in me believed we were Wembley bound. Putting the actual performance, mistakes, tactics, injuries, Covid etc etc to one side. I think the thing that’s pissing me off the most is we have lost the feel good factor. As people have alluded to post Wigan/Plymouth it’s faded away. Im not saying it’s gone, never to be recovered, but it’s so hard to shift the ship back against the tide. There’s been the odd positive glimpse, but nothing sustained. And by Christ we have idiots there at the game and on social media who seem to revel in the negativity, they’re almost frothing at the mouth to criticise louder, be more abusive, be more animated, as if they are gaining kudos from it. Yes Dixon made a horror mistake, but how is calling him a fucking cunt and get back to Barrow going to help anybody? And that really pisses me off, probably more than anything the players or manager is doing. Not that I am excusing them from that tonight, not good enough. Midfield didn’t show and move the ball quick enough (apart from Thomason). MJ (perhaps understandably) was way off the pace and Delf (another who was targeted for abuse) is trying, but with little output of the needed quality. We’ll get better, I’m sure of that. Fitter, more players back from injury and new recruits will move us in the right direction. We made a poor start in January last year too, so no need to overract. There I’ve finished on a positive 😊

That’s because when you have the ball the intensity has to be at a level that tires them out, when you lose the ball the intensity has to be ramped up that they tire themselves out but when you don’t train or play for three weeks you can’t do that. The full squad isn’t there and who is there isn’t fit. Be reet

Evatt isn’t going anywhere, and rightly so. We’re out of a fucking pizza cup that includes B-teams, I’d be embarrassed celebrating winning the thing. Losing the dressing room blah blah blah - we were a threadbare promoted team that started well, increased hopes, lost some form, got decimated with injuries and are now bobbing around as a mid-table L1 team. Let’s see where we are at the end of the season - it would be nice if we could lose the hysteria after each win and loss but I won’t hold my breath.
  37. Horwich, could you provide an update on the played/result stats for Senior’s replacement?

Hadn't paid much notice to the JWT until reading this thread and even then only read stuff in passing. Then today I found out that the BiL of the bloke who works for me in Scotland has been working on it for the last 17 years. 17 years on a single project. And I'm sure he said that his BiL was only brought in because of some failure and that it had been going on for years before. Probably if I read back through this thread I'd find some of the info but the engineering that he was telling us about is mind-boggling. Just to deploy the sunshield is incredible engineering and yeah @kent_white the individual deployments and the single-point failures that can wreck the mission blew my mind

It’s not difficult to see that it really isn’t, the back 4 ain’t clever either and the 2 best forwards have a combined age of about 70, they’ve spent 100s of millions and it’s a shit show at OT and it’s a delight to see. 🤣
  40. Go to about 15 minutes on this Q and a with willie morgan few days before the Everton semi Some might even know the bolton fans asking the questions
