  1. The sooner this bunch of shameless, untalented, feckless, arrogant wankers is thrown out of power, the better for everyone. I don't think there has been a government in recent memory (and I'm starting with Cameron) that has done so much to damage the country for their own gains. They've preyed on people's (not unreasonable concerns) for their own benefit and are even defended by the people they are using. This lot who sit in cabinet just shouldn't be there, they can't fulfill their briefs and yet they are still made excuses for. I used to have a certain amount of sympathy for those who voted brexit in places where there has been a lack of support from Westminister, even though their concerns were weaponised to attack the wrong challenges. But I'm sorry, all that has gone. If you try and defend this record then use your support to follow a band or a football team, this is about getting people (from whatever party) who will help this country, who will help us. Nothing they have done over the last decade has done this, both from a fiscal or societal perspective. Its been pure short termist, party management at the expense of real policy work to simply to remain in power. It corrodes our faith in our political system, and props up weak politicians who hold positions in the most powerful seats of our state. And that is a sorry state of affairs, however many famous liberals it annoys.

  3. Talking to a bloke before game exiled Boltoner, now residing in Watford. His grandson is now very much a second generation Watfordian... Bolton through and through. Probably about 10-12 and only Bolton fan at school. I'd love it.

  5. It's not a rabbit hole, it's essential to understand post war politics. But people don't, and they don't read books because it's boring, and they know everything anyway, dulled by the post war consensus and the colonial narrative we love as a nation. All the while, we elect leaders who know this and give us the story we want to hear, rather than the hard truth because it keeps them in the status quo (sans denim jackets) I'm constantly surprised that people are surprised.

  7. Really sorry to hear about this, on a lighter side I wouldn't have minded seeing a few joggers bit on the arse. At least you have acquired the dog from a good breeder who will take him back, too many dogs get abandoned at this stage. Sounds like he needs to be around other working dogs, good on you for taking on a dog from a proper breeder and not from a puppy farm. Onwards and upwards

  9. 😂 Have a good journey back. Gutted I missed that one today. Great professional performance. 2 home wins this week and we could be looking at a very positive position this time next week. 👏

  10. Well I consider myself anti-United, I don’t have a problem with it. And more to the point I don’t know why it would be a problem, I take it you’d have to have some red influence to understand 😂 Is it because they sing a similar song?

  14. Deffo should have been more but who can moan at a 3-0? Looked very comfortable all the way through and defended our box relatively well when balls came in. Guilty of overplaying at times trying to cut inside for the extra touch when we may have been more ruthless just lashing it across goal but we got what we deserved in the endgame. Thought we'd have a tougher game than that tbf think thats the first time under Harris that theyv've been well beaten so the players can take somethng out of that

  15. Could have scored a lot more, but well done Bolton. Fossey's throw in near the end still making me giggle, he was class, Morley's goal reminded me of Cahill's goal vs Qpr in prem in a 4-0 away win.

  20. It's not deflection. I've already explained what I think has emboldened Putin. Trump was about a weak a president as the US has had in living memory. And personally, I think you're mistaking rash, vain and unpredictable for strong. Trump would have panicked. He was always visibly unnerved by Putin. To the extent that he hung his own people out to dry in front of the whole world while Putin stood there smirking.

  21. Im too extremely conflicted. The Ukrainians are just unlucky they happened to be born or live the other side of line drawn on a map. Doesnt sit right that they are the sacrificial lamb in all this. I dont want WW3 but putting my kids to bed last night I couldn't help but think of how lucky I am to be able to do this and theres poor kids out there under attack and their Dads getting killed in combat and their houses shelled. I know if it was us under attack we'd have the US and every big dick in the west by our side on the ground. It seems unfair Ukrainians cant have the same becasue they didnt sign a bit of paper sooner.

  24. I'm torn me. Really torn. I can see the undeniable logic in not enforcing a no fly zone or putting boots on the ground. But my god it's hard to swallow. Really hard. In some ways it would have been easier if Ukraine had been in NATO and our hand was forced. I'm not comfortable with watching a country get systematically destroyed when we could intervene. But what would the consequences of that be? But if we don't, then where is our moral authority? Horrible, horrible situation this is......

  25. Also fucking pointless. There's no displaced Ukrainians thinking "I'm so glad the Premier league have posted on twitter that they stand with Ukraine and are wearing blue and yellow laces this weekend. It makes it so much easier that I've had to leave my home with only the shirt on my back whilst my husband stays behind to fight... And he's not even a world boxing champion. He's no chance. I'll take solace that 63 year old Clive in Falmouth has changed his Facebook profile frame to a blue and yellow ribbon... Everything will be fine"

  28. 😊 Not the best part of town but full of history. In 2008 they had a photographic exhibition in the square (it’s not a square) showing huge photos of the Russian tanks in the same place as they were 40 years previously. I remember standing there trying to imagine what it would have been like. It took a few years for them to leave but they did. Here we are again, another European city with Russian tanks in the streets again. Hopefully, one day I’ll go to Kiev and think the same. Sooner rather than later.

  35. Blokes who've spent their entire lives living in peace, calling the younger generations 'wokes' and 'wimps' who should be forced into National Service - all the while knowing they're too old to ever be called up themselves. Sums the state of this country up to a fucking tee.
