  5. I sowed some seeds about 3 or 4 weeks back. Lettuce, spinach and radish. Lettuce didn't germinate. The rest did but the pigeons had the lot. The bastards. Have a look online or in a garden centre on the seed packets. Some you do now for later/spring. Trouble is, with cooler weather forecast, germination may be poor. A greenhouse will help, especially if you can use propagator. Light levels will restrictions growth so stick to things the packet says will grow. I'm still picking beans and last of the outdoor tomatoes. Spuds done, and squashes have been decent. Some ripening nicely for Halloween/eating. If you're serious, it may pay to get some veggie beds prepared and manured ready for traditional spring type stuff.

  14. Crime of The Century documentary is a good watch I’d recommend for you then if you’ve not already seen it. The OxyContin scandal. Horrific and very shaming of the industry at that time

  16. Bilic only got 18 months, so its basically promotion or he's out with best part of a year's comp. If they go up, they'll struggle (as he did at WBA) and when he gets sacked before Christmas they'll only have to pay up a few months.

  18. Meanwhile, ol’ sleepy Uncle Joe continues to implement sensible, well thought out policies, strengthening America whilst the rest of the world have a fucking game of political X Factor. He’s holding their crackpots at bay and managing to make his country stronger than ever with his boring politics and dull, hard-working attitude. We need to get rid of this incessant populist agenda. Nothing is getting done.

  24. Bolty Fact Check. The National Anthem was sung without disruption from any part of the conference. Even at The World Transformed Momentum's fringe event at the conference had McDonald say that they should stay the course with Starmer, with even Corbyn wishing to regain the whip despite the more fervent members of Momentum still pushing for the Socialist Campaign Group to form a breakaway party, Momentum has lost, well, it's Momentum. Another damned if they do, damned if they don't from our Australian correspondent focusing on total distractions as the economy vanishing down a plughole.

  26. It’ll be £1-$1 this week. Anyone who thinks that isn’t a problem with long term consequences should genuinely have their right to vote yanked. We sneer at madcap African nations when their currency goes down the Kermit and laugh at their leaders.

  28. Ted Undies at his finest. "Well Ethel, you heard me say "Uncovered a clue. It may help for them with good memories" and guessed that the "good" bit referred to Goodison and hence Everton. Well, it was a good (pauses for laughter) answer but in fact wrong. I also mentioned "Memories", which is a famous song from the musical Cats. And who sang the version that made the charts? Well, it was Elaine Paige as you well know. And which ground shares the same two starting letters of her first name? Yes, it's Elland Road. Hard luck Ethel and Barry. Here's a Dusty Bin to take back to your modest East Midlands home in Syston, just behind the Pukka Pie factory. And here's what you could have won:

  31. Would you reserve judgement and wait to see the results if/when labour get in government? No, you will be screeching with the best of them that it will be the ruination of the country because it is simply red vs blue for you. We can wait and see but you can also have an opinion right know whether you think this is great policy or not. Do you think it is wise for a government to be borrowing more money than ever before at much higher interest rates? Do you think it is wise for governments to remove planning regulations to allow the destruction of native wild life and ecosystems? Some of these wait an see could mean we are fucked for decades if not longer, some times you need to act right away.

  32. Don't know If anyone is aware of this - a very sad story but worth a mention to set the record straight We all know that there were 33 victims in the Burnden Disaster Well - sort of Back in the day ( March 1946 ) there was no such thing as post traumatic stress and counselling - you just got on with things - or at least you were meant to - that was the way things were in the aftermath of the war Well sadly Robert Jones aged just 34 years old who lived in Bark Street was so traumatised by events at Burnden that day he did not get on with it - he gassed himself The Coroner recorded a suicide verdict on 15th March - 6 days after the disaster and said this "Without seeking in any way to minimise the tragedy at Burnden Park , it is difficult to understand why it should have had such an effect on this mans mind " To me he is the 34th Victim
