  2. Right, it's quite simple and despite your views and beliefs, you're clearly an intelligent chap. You make it quite clear that football shouldn't be politicised but then moan that a player doesn't wear a poppy and bring up a bombing that happened over 25 years ago. ... and with regards to "political bullshit" detracting from the football, well, for the vast majority it hasn't detracted from the football one little bit. Making a stand/comments about a country that puts gays in prison AND enjoying the football is possible. The only people for whom the "political bullshit" is detracting from the football is those of a certain vintage with views that belong in a bygone era. I just can't imagine being so small/narrow minded where something such as players taking the knee would ruin my day.

She was at the top of the stairs and fucking threw it at me then shouted well its fucked now eh. She bought a Shark. I no longer voice my opinion about these things

  6. Raphina - Leeds - He plays for Barcelona, and has done for almost 6 months!! Richarlison - second choice behind Kane - Spurs play a front 3 and Richarlison plays eaither side of Kane. Fred - shit - Done well for the new manager. Casemiro - hardly shone with United and on the wane, hence Real letting him go - Done brilliant since coming to United, one of the BEST in his postion in the world...dont let the United hatred get on the way of that!!! Silva - great in his day but way past his best - Chelseas best defender by an absolute mile and top 5 defenders in the prem. Along with 2 of the best 5 keepers in the world, another top 10 in world Centre back, and Real Madrids best 2 attackers.....

  8. Teen years - finding women, beer, lads holidays, Wanderers were amazing, starting work but still having the luxury of living at the parents, passing your driving test, getting your first car (and insurance and petrol you could afford), etc etc etc If you didn’t like your teens it was deffo because you were fingered off your geography teacher.

  10. Well, unlucky Compo. You've had your pick of Governments over the last decade and a half, plus your beloved Brexit and all the promises that came with that, yet it's still 2022 in Britain. There's no going back. You'll just have to suck it up.

  12. NiC, you’re fathers fully entitled to his opinion just as I am to mine. We may not have had central heating but we didn’t miss it and we didn’t have the massive energy bills we now have. Anybody working could afford a house on one wage, there was a respect for law and order, no drug gangs, murder was a rare event, hospitals were run properly, schools taught you how to spell and add up properly. Strikes were something you did with a match and footballers were normal people. There are so many ways that life was simpler and better then and it’s sad really that you’ll never experience it. If I could wish one thing for my grandchildren it would be that they could grow up in the times I did when they wouldn’t be threatened by so many of the things which affect lives now. Yes life in many ways is easier now but the quality of life can never compete.

  13. Utter codswallop. My Dad was born in 48, and as he always says, anyone who tells you things were better in the old days is talking crap. I'd love you to define better. Maybe it was the lower life expectancy? The unaddressed levels of inequality? Lack of central heating in most homes? Illegal abortions? The lack of an equal equalities act? Less chance of progression? Myopic, backward looking nonsense from people who don't see what damage they have wrought on our country by being led up the garden path by successive governments just leaves me aghast. Housing has got tit all to do with immigration, doctor's appoitments (or lack therefore) have got tit all to do with immigration. Its this over-simplification of blaming the smallest numbers of the poorest people for a country's ills that beggers belief and that people propogate this myth because they are too entrenched and lack to be honest, the desire, to understand the issue further. I'd love to live in a world where everything was so easily explained away and I could sit on my high horse pontificating. Worse than Bolty in that, this fella thinks he's spot on.

You can find faults in almost all the teams who have played twice so far, but Brazil have yet to concede a shot for Alisson to make, form can change over the course of 1 match as seen with England, but Brazil along with Spain and France have been the stand outs so far for me. France are winning with key players injured but Mbappe can beat teams on his own it seems, Spain are playing really nice but Germany had their moments, Portugal have 2 wins, but as seen with how they nearly blew a 3-1 lead to Ghana (crazy moment from goalie) they shouldn't be feared. tbh there's a not really anyone to fear for England, as upfront we have just as much talent, but play like we did v USA and we ain't winning nothing.

  18. Not with that cunt up top. You can't be carrying a CF every game, no matter how good he has been in the past. So far all he's done is score a penalty he dived for, tried nicking someone else's goal and dived around a bit. Whoever wins this tournament will have a striker who troubles defenders.

  22. Why do you have to continually prove how thick you are with your trite and stupid remarks? Of course we remember our childhoods and I’m not dismissing any of the improvements made over time but what I’m saying is that life in the UK was in my opinion far better then than it is now. Since the nineties under Blair’s government and as the EU became more involved in UK politics and ceased to be a trading agreement its all gone down hill. I don’t actually think that you and those who weren’t around then can possibly imagine how much better life was and obviously I don’t expect you to but consider that before we joined the EU we had one of the worlds most efficient farming systems. Our milk and dairy production was controlled by the Milk Marketing Board, not imported as it largely is now. All of that was destroyed by the CAP in favour of France, as was our fishing industry. We had a productive engineering industry later destroyed by Germany in their new factories we largely paid for after the war. Immigration is entirely to blame for all the things you now moan about because as soon as cheap labour was available and encouraged by government companies stopped investing in British workers. The multi nationals closed down our industry and moved both jobs and equipment abroad, literally stripping out factories of machinery to send to places like China, India and the Far East.. Cheese, you don’t know the half of it mate. Look at the job market and other than the NHS tell me which other industry employs high quality, educated immigrants and which employs uneducated cheap labour. Of course big business wants cheap Labour which is why Next are pushing to increase it rather than pay the extra £2 an hour others pay in their warehouses. If you want high quality, highly paid jobs it won’t come through immigration. Unless somebody, as Truss was trying to do albeit badly, gets a grip of this and starts to force companies to employ, train and pay well local school and university leavers this country will continue to sink. Until government forces companies to source inwardly and increase in work training and apprenticeships and the NHS is made to accept that it needs to train its own doctors and nurses nothing will improve. Changing the government won’t improve anything, Labour will be even worse than this lot, hard as it may be to believe but whilst there’s no silver bullet a stem of the immigration levels would be a massive start.

  23. The first one- that was the game when SJM didn't return the ball and we scored iirc. Which leads me onto a little tale. Couple of weeks ago I was having surgery on my thumb. I asked for a local anaesthetic which the surgeon was happy about. During the event we got chatting about football and he said he was a Burnley fan, which led onto talk of games between our sides. Then he spoke about SJM not giving the ball back, and his tone changed ever so slightly. Clearly, it still wrankles, but I thought better of pursuing it as he was in the process of stitching my tendon back together!🤣

  26. I've been looking at getting one as well, as we have all wooden floors through the downstairs, and they do get pretty dusty inbetween the cleaners intermittant visits (she seems to come and go as she pleases at the minute) Anyway, my mate has this one: eufy by Anker RoboVac G30 Edge Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Smart Dynamic Navigation 2.0, 2000Pa Suction, Wi-Fi, Boundary Strips, For Carpets and Hard Floors. : Amazon.co.uk: Home & Kitchen and he reckons it's excellent. I've seen it wandering around his house, and I've never seen it stick anywhere. It's quite nifty how it decides when it needs to charge up, and then goes back "home" to do so Edit: Just seen there's £100 off voucher at present, so I'll probably invest this evening

  37. I read that to lessen collusion (3 team groups and Disgrace of Gijon) they are ensuring draws don't happen so penalty shoot deciding matches drawn after 90 mins! But did also read that 12 groups of 4 still a possibility. Which asks the question, would the next stage be a knockout round of 16 or 32.

Anyway, I was in a Chinese restaurant in Southampton a couple of weeks ago and the partition between tables was ironwork in a fancy Chinese style. It was only when I looked more closely it reminded me of something. I showed the manageress a copy of our Club badge and she laughed and said their logo had no real meaning just a pattern. Go look for yourselves, it's just down the road.
