  1. Match: 2nd half They had a proper takeover Post Match: You think Bolton are only the 6th best team in this division? Had a bit of free time so thought I'd bring this thread back with a curated set of comments. Enjoy the Charlton fans giving us a bit of fellatio.

  2. He slows it down cos hes good enough to do so Ive never ever called aimson but he was a stopper No more, no less Evatt wants santos to keep the ball to draw the other lot out Then he plays it If you cant see this, no problem, but youre missing a massive part of our plan

  3. I still can’t believe the fans saying we are having a bad window. I love the evolution of this team. We started last season with Doyle, Delfouneso and Baka. We still had Comley picking up a wage. Dixon was in net. Look at the team now. It’s unbelievable compared to that.

  4. He’d have to go some to give the ball away as much as aimson. There is no comparison between the high risk game Santos plays (which Evatt asks him to play) and the low risk game using 5 yard passes Aimson was required to play for us.

  6. I agree with that, I can't imagine what possesses anyone in the public eye to invite comments from strangers, knowing you're only one bad game away from being a "villain" or laughing stock. On Kachunga, I've gone from not rating him as a player to now only wanting the best for him. I feel terrible for him, he was already unpopular, now in relative terms he's gone to the level of Beckham getting sent off v the Argies. Then when he's at his lowest ebb (according to IE) and banned for 3 games, we go out and sign not one but 2 replacement strikers. I don't feel at all comfortable with it and would love him to somehow get a go in the team and do himself justice, and get back in everyone's good books. Its gone beyond football, I feel for the bloke.

  7. You know folk still doubt him, dont you? Proper weird Generally, its cos they wanted rid early doors. Theres one or two on here Whenever theres a blip, its 'ill give him a couple more games'

  8. This has bugged me.. One game we had three cleared off the line and it showed as zero shots on target. If we are looking at stats then they should at least reflect the match properly.

  13. I know where you’re coming from but that’s like saying someone like Barry bannan is on the same level as other league 1 midfielders when he simply isn’t

  14. Aimson is as good if not better than Rico at defending his own box positionally and possibly better concentration…But Santos is far superior in every other department.. pace, strength, duals, aerially (defensively - maybe not attacking wise) and passing. Santos offers a lot more than Aimson IMO. No way Aimson would get anywhere near our team if we get promoted whereas Santos I feel could make the step up.

  15. Surely with the amount of atack minded players in the squad now, why do any of our defenders have to take risks with the ball? The risk, IMO, in the way Evatt wants us to play is by getting our defenders up to the opposition box, and that is where Santos is gold in providing cover 1 v 1 against the break. However with the team we have I'm not sure he needs to bother as much with the risky glory ball tbh. Hence why was easier for Aimson to slot in so well recently than the last time he had a run in the team.

  17. Great day. Smooth journey down Picc-Euston. Good pre-match drinks at the Anchor and Hope. Game fantastic. 1-2 flattered them. Standouts Morley, Santos. New boys looked good. Shoretire is a talent. Good to see DJ back. Great going forward. London Bridge is a great Saturday afternoon out on the beers. Safely onto a Euston-Picc train that is running.

  18. His risky ball, when they fail, is at least 50 yards up the pitch. Short balls fucking up are much more dangerous.

  20. It’s ok you get it then.. accept that Evatt wants him to do exactly what’s he’s doing.. and I don’t see him give the ball away that often today or in general, certainly not often in dangerous areas, you defended Aimson, who can’t pass 5 yards, while having pop at Santos who’s playing a high risk expansive game being brave to benefit the team and giving ball away less than 5 yard Aimson.. strange call that in my book.

  21. Define “gave the ball away” please. Are you talking about heading clear and the ball happens to go to an opponent? Or maybe a long cross-field ball which gets cut out? Or do you mean could’ve picked out an easy out-ball but instead kicked it to an opponent.

  22. But that’s what Evatt wants him to do. He wants progressive passes from deep which come from Santos or Morley. It’s risk/reward… He will execute it better as he gets fitter IMO but you don’t get that from Aimson. Aimson would regularly hoof the ball out of play or give it away. Cracking defender but just didn’t have the composure or technical ability to do the same job.

  23. Very good read, nothing like a bit of ego-boosting after a good result. Top work @Mantra No idea what the ‘free time’ stuff you speak of is though. Seems like a distant memory 😂

  24. Goals will come. The Charlton keeper led a charmed life today with a few saves he knew nothing about, mis-hits, etc. on another day we’ll get half a dozen.

  26. I think Jerome did the right thing trying to give it back to Bradley, also thought Adeboyejo should have held the ball up and played it back to Jerome who may have had an open net and then had a great chance when Dempsey fed him but was blocked also thought Charles should have played it to the left to an open Bolton player (Morley?) instead of taking a touch and shooting too late earlier in 2nd half. Johnstone had a head problem end of 1st half, Shoretire looked to hurt his side/arse.

  31. How is this 1-0. Sums up our season so far not taking chances. Shoretire is some player… early days but seems to do everything that Dapo did but better. That pass to Charles where we hit the bar… Dapo would have taken that on himself and not passed 100%.

  36. Bod is injured and out of contract at the end of the season Jerome I suspect would be willing to do the same job he's been doing a league above - be a god option to bring on in the second half Kacha offers the option of playing deeper if needed and is unlikely to raise any complaint ovr not starting Charles and Ade will probably be the starting two, with Big Dan keeping them honest
