  1. I'd like to think we can bring in better in the summer. He's not a bad player, he's just a bit too lightweight IMO.

  2. You haven't though. It's why you keep posing questions that already have answers to them. Go on lad, use the internet, do your own thinking and research. It'll take a bit of time, but I'm sure you're up to it.

  3. Ah the old gish gallop again. You're quite the fan of that. No one has said that, anyway here you go, in case you couldn't find it - there is quite a lot of reading but I'm sure you'll manage it. And look at that - an agreement with Albania, done in 2006, if only we could be part of some of these. Bloody EU and its long and boring bureaucracy. There's even a lovely flowchart. https://home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/policies/migration-and-asylum/irregular-migration-and-return/return-and-readmission_en ...and here is the outline policy from yesterday for you to compare and contrast; https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ground-breaking-new-laws-to-stop-the-boats As I said, it's all there for you, soldier.

  5. Tonights result at West Brom is very welcome but really pales into insignificance when compared to breaking news off the pitch ... i posted on here last week that Wigan had just put £8 million into the club via a share issue and wondered why .. well.. Yesterday they filed their accounts at companies house for their 2021/22 promotion season (year ended 30 June 2022) The accounts show in that year they made a loss of £7.75 million with Wages of £13 million against a Turnover of £8 Million They made a profit on player sales of £2.3 million - otherwise losses would have been £10 million A lovely read .... and it aint getting better anytime soon https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13161421/filing-history

  8. Agreed. Sheehan is technically a good midfielder , he's a good set piece taker and a good squad player. He's scored some important goals, good goals too, like port vale at home recently. He's not expensive and I don't think we can get better value squad depth if we are in league 1 next year.

  10. Done it twice because the training ground is soft, according to Evatt. Don't get it personally, I would have thought a hard pitch is more likely to hurt your back, bit then again I'm not a sports scientist. If only the forum had one..

  15. Your Uni will usually give you a student version of MS Office for free. And honest - if all you are doing is browsing and writing - you just need something basic. Congrats on uni by the way. What are you studying?

  16. Have a look at or word with Ste at laptop repair hut on chorley old road. I know Ste, he's a good honest lad who won't be trying to advise you to get anything you don't need. He gets a lot of ex NHS laptops in, who must have to change them after a couple of years and refurbs them, got one from him for the Mrs for doing her online courses for work, It is bang on for that.

  21. You can easily get a decent refurbished laptop running Windows 10 for less than 200 quid if you go to a local Computer repair shop with a decent reputation. As long as you're not expecting to play games on it, it'll be more than good enough for Uni work. The brand name is pretty irrelevant these days.

  22. We've beaten sides that press us and we've beaten sides that sit in. Not always pretty, but such is football. You've watched enough games to know, irrespective of league, that sometimes a narrow win in a scrappy game is quite often an achievement. I'll take them any day.

  23. I dont like how using the term "lefty" in a derogatory way has just been normalised by the PM either. Whichever side of the debate you're on it doesn't really do much for rhe standard of discourse does it.

  25. Bog standard, hard wearing, long lasting, cheaper and will do all the basics. I'd go Dell. Cheap to fix as well, but certainly not all signing all dancing. It'll do you for Uni and Work.

  27. £13m wage bill last season. Absolutely fucking ridiculous 🤣 relegation, ageing players coming to the end of big money contracts, full rebuild needed with no money to do the work its looking lovely. Death by a thousand cuts is far more enjoyable

  32. I think the idea is that it will be like the log flume at Alton Towers so there will be a constantly rotating number of transport pods, you will jump in one in France, pay your smuggler £50000 then when you get out in the UK you will join the queue for the return journey. You will repeat the process in France. At the risk of repeating myself instead of coming up with yet another contentious legal process that 'lefty lawyers' will pull apart we could maybe consider actually processing the asylum applications we have and either sending folk back through established legal routes for failed asylum seekers or letting them in so they can do some work and earn their gold bound pensions .

  33. All Macron has to do is to agree to us turning the boats back and returning them to French beaches. Worked down here and will work there too - especially allied with the fact that any who manage to slip through the net are going to Rwanda anyway. Which economic migrant is going to pay people smugglers for a very low percentage chance of actually succeeding in finding a new life in the UK? Further, Macrons problem will recede. They will stop coming. Best of all, no more mass drownings in the English Channel Win-win-win. Pointless discussing this with international socialists though. They will be on here shortly to bleat about these poor souls (read Albanian gangsters) risking all to escape oppression. Bleeding heart liberals.

  35. Don't remember much about it apart from supping in The Globe and there were a couple of Arsenal fans the worse for wear trying to come down from winning the league with a few pints. and I got a Sherpa Van 89 tshirt which I wore at the last Burnden game. I lingered in the Paddock at the bitter end, despite stewards protestations, in order to take one last pic of the old terrace - which by that time had just a few left on it as everyone had been ushered out. This was history in the making as I was still over in my spot close to the away fans' bit. "One last pic" I pleaded with them as I whipped out my crappy old point and click. Did it and then was one of the last knot of fans ever to be on the Paddock. Retrieving my pics from Boots (younger posters - don't ask!) I hoped that this was history in the making; the scene of so many experiences, good, bad and ugly, would be captured for ever before its demise. After a quick rummage through the prints, I realised to my horror that the combination of euphoria, adrenaline and ale had meant that I'd pointed the crappy camera in the wrong direction - and all I got to finally remember the Paddock and all its glory by, in its dying embers, was a picture of my gut with a Sherpa Van Trophy Final shirt on it. 🙁

  39. News stations showed footage of folk jibbing in, and posts on social media (copied on here) of folk who had got in supposedly without tickets. Whilst it may not have been commonplace, evidence was provided of fans' wrongdoing. Just like it was provided of poor policing and management generally. Blame lies in all areas.
