  1. Kachunga is probably the least 'worthy' scapegoat we've ever had. Probably run close with Darren Pratley. Hes just been a bit crap at times, nowhere near worth the outpouring of abuse and stick hes got over his time here. The hysterics after that sending off malarkey was just plain embarrassing. Im just so glad hes managed to turn things around. Bit of trust from the manager and sheer graft. Amazing what the mind can be capable of. Fair fucks to the lad. Others would've folded. Couple of big goals later and hes on the way to being a cult figure.

  2. There is no need to compare the two Sunday was a party to celebrate the Phoenix like rise from the ashes of the club. A day to celebrate the fact the club now has an identity we can all be proud of. It was wonderful and in the long term will have more impact than any single league game. Friday is one game in a season, if we lose then win the next 5 it will be forgotten. But if we win it really boosts our chances of making play offs so it is important. It will be disappointing if we lose but it is not season defining. The two games are totally different and trying to argue one is more important than the other is illogical. That made more sense in my head than it did when written out.

  3. I've finally achieved hero status. 🥳 Keeps saying to me "Thank god you told me to wait dad!" 😁🥰 Something neither of us will ever forget. Beyond words how much that meant on Sunday. Only just got home after spending a couple of days down South, and him and his sister took it in turns to read every single word of the matchday programme out loud in the car on our way to different places. Didn't even ask them to, and it got a bit tedious to be honest, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

  5. And he did Stoke on a cold Tuesday night ( 0-0 too). No, he’s not a pinkie at all but his little aberration was a long time ago and is never being repeated again after everything that he’s done for the club. Folk were paid out of his own pocket while that fuckin charlatan of a chairman was sat on his boat in Monaco. He has been the constant since Gartside’s days and his presence gives me the reassurance that if FV do sell up, it’ll go to somebody who would be trustworthy custodians for the future. St Michael of Howfen. 😁

  6. Honourable mention to Michael James from me. God knows where we'd be without him. He really is one of our own.

  8. While I agree with the sentiment. The Exeter game is far more important as it’s the next one and in the league.

  10. Sorry if this has been covered. Puts a lump in my throat and happy tear in my eye when I see the proud parents. Great to see how proud they are of their sons pulling on the white shirt 👏

  12. +1 I was barely holding back tears on Sunday. Win, lose or draw at Exeter, and its on to Cambridge, irrespective. For me, it's not a fair comparison, however you try to look at it.

  14. I know it seems that everyone gets to play at Wembley these days, relative to pre-play off days, but not quite so many have won a cup there. And clubs as "big" as Blackburn and Ipswich have never even played at the new Wembley. That feeling we had on Sunday has never been enjoyed by loads of clubs fans (Newcastle haven't won a cup there since 1955!). And before the game some were saying the Exeter game is more important. Without a doubt we'll be recalling that cup win on a regular basis for the rest of our lives, it may never happen again for some of us. If we never get to Wembley again that will be our memory of the place, I'll take a 3-0 defeat on Friday and still say it was an outstanding week for BWFC.

  16. Fucking brilliant that. Me and my lad nearly missed the first goal as he was dying for a piss within minutes of kick-off. 😬We got to the top of the steps to go into the concourse, and I turned around and saw we had a corner. "Just hold it in for 1 minute, we've got a corner......." BOOM!! I can just about make us out in that video hugging each other and jumping around like lunatics, before being joined by a few other blokes who must have been finishing their pints 😁😍

  24. aye, never seen them before was hoping to hear Lucky Day in Hell, Fresh Feeling, Fresh Blood or Beautiful Blues but really enjoyed it none the less - latest album is really good and those first 5 or 6 songs were great definitely a mature audience and "amusing" to see he can't get to the high notes in tunes like novovaine anymore

  25. Agreed mate. I actually think this embarrassment in front of their own fans will re focus them with a steely resolve. Not out of the question that they could win the Champions League. Fucking hell - what a party that would be in Napoli! I would estimate probably a hundred or more fathers never coming home for a variety of reasons and a good few overdose deaths when the Camorrese decide to splash around a few free samples in celebration. There'd be 40 plus other deaths through misadventure, score settling and alcohol poisoning and the ozone layer would take a proper battering from the fireworks overload. It's a mad city at the most serene of times. Ballistic is probably a good word to describe what would happen if they became champions of Europe. Mural painters would be on an absolute shagger. Paid triple time I reckon.

  31. I think the judge has been meticulous in the phrasing of the sentencing so that there would be no chance of an appeal on a technicality, BTW the judge spoke so impassively on what must have been emotional for her

  32. Just watched the whole game again Dear god the ref/linos were poor. I know it’s a Wembley final but you simply can’t make that as an excuse for not red carding players for those tackles. The handball and the push in the penalty box on Kachunga are two clear pens as well On the “John Terrys”. Good on em. Fantastic squad spirit. Leave nobody out

  36. What a tonic after a tough week. On the Tuesday my mum who has dementia wandered off for the first time, thankfully found safe and sound after 9 hours and a big police effort. Wasn't sure we should take her, a few difficult conversations with my dad on the best thing to do, but decided in the end to go as planned. Got there early to try and avoid the biggest crowds, but all OK in the end. Performance and match were fantastic, but watching my Dad dancing with my mum at full time, the biggest smile on his face will stay with me forever. Tears were shed. Thank you Bolton, one of the best days ever and a memory to cherish forever. Was in the 2nd tier, entered via the Bobby Moore entrance, great bar, fantastic view, only a few blocks away from Campo, Paddy & Vernon. Highly recommend if ever back there!!

  37. I always enjoy reading these views from our opponents fans , and with yesterday being such a high profile game i thought i would while a way an hour looking on a few of our local and play off rivals forums to see if we got a mention Here is a small selection of the comments Preston Hate him, but Evatt is doing a super job with this Bolton side. No right to be matching the other clubs in the top 6 but they’re aggressive and positive all over the pitch Very impressed Blackpool fans will be suggesting him as their next manager……Truth is that Bolton could be swapping places with Blackpool Blackpool I'm no Bolton fan but a big well done to Evo (& of course their top keeper coach Matt Gilks) - now move to BFC, as you won't get promoted 🤣 Make him an offer he can't refuse and pay the compo. Show him the vision. Show him WHAT. Vision? Bolton took best part of 40 000 fans to Wembley and in the promotion mix. I think he's already pretty excited about Bolton's vision at the moment. Not even sure whatever vision we might have is even visible sadly Manchester City Surprised no thread...... But huge congratulations to Bolton for winning the Football League Trophy,in front of 80k at Wembley, yesterday. Special mention for our own James Trafford too,who was again in great form and is really making a name for himself between the sticks (Trafford made one outstanding save from Hardie in the first half that came at a crucial stage of the game. He had the confidence of a seasoned veteran) Bet that Japanese fan that was all over the bbc sports reports pre-game who came over to support Plymouth was pissed off. I was at Wembley in support of my home town club, Plymouth Argyle. A thoroughly chastening experience. With Bolton failing to score against the Greens in either league meeting and Argyle 16 points above Wanderers in the table, no one saw this coming! Bolton completely outclassed Plymouth and we were lucky to get away with conceding "only" the four. I just hope this does not derail our promotion campaign - would certainly hate to meet Bolton in a play off final! I have a mate who now lives and works in Nottingham.Carried on supporting the Trotters through thick and thin. He's 40 this year and has decided to watch every single first team game. Yesterday was game number 49. He's writing a book about this season and all his experiences following Bolton. He's a smashing lad and I am really chuffed to bits for him - he went to the semi final against Stoke all those years ago and yesterday was pretty cathartic for him to say the least. Silly sod has text me this morning to say he's had to go in work with a very, very, very thick head! Barnsley Bolton on fire. Hope this knocks the stuffing out of Plymouth When the pressure on Plymouth bottle it ,hope springs eternal Green Army looking a bit green around the gills Cum on Plymouth got 240 quid riding on this, The way it’s looking now for the top six (as it was with Derby in it): Ipswich, Reds, Bolton - all going up. Weds, Plymouth, Derby - wheels already off or coming off. stark reminder to anyone thinking league position makes any difference in the play offs I said before we played Plymouth that they have it in them to completely capitulate. They've taken some hammerings this season despite being 2nd in the league and still in pole position to win the title. They also seem to get jitters for the big games. They threw away their play-off spot on the last game of last season when they got hammered by MK Dons. I hope they carry this form into the league. The score is hardly a surprise to anyone who saw both teams at Oakwell. Don't forget Plymouth don't lose any points today. They get to dust themselves down and come out all guns firing next week. In fact, they'll want to show that this is a one-off Plymouth hopefully will bottle the run in and open it up to us to push past into the top two. Can see us and Ipswich battling out for the title. Who would have thought that at the end of last season I've blown 100 quid backed em at 7/5 thought they were a good thing, move on, back to the grindstone. Sheffield Wednesday Bolton showing that they'll be the team to beat on the Playoffs, nice mix of experience and youth. I think they're better than Barnsley May end up meaning very little. Confidence hit a bit, though they've got Morecambe next which is about as good a fixture as you could hope to have to recover. Still - makes you wonder what they'd do if they wound up in the play offs. I’m expecting Ipswich winning the league, and Bolton are the only team that worry me in the play offs. Think we’ll smash the others if we play um. Nice to see Lee win something, even if it is just this trophy Plymouth fans have been taking the P out of the Owlstalk ‘meltdown’ all weekend. Ironic considering the monumental meltdown going on on their forum right now. Portsmouth Oops a f***ing daisy Bit of a battering, they've not had many of those this season, didn't see that coming. Hey ho, a little slip up in the league too now would be welcome. I'm generally an optimist, but got to admit, the first thing I got from that result was hoping it doesn't boost Bolton's confidence. Hoping for the best of both points of view. Bolton slump and we replace them in the play-offs. Then, we take on and thrash a dispirited Plymouth and from one of my favourite forums Sunderland Some start by Bolton like...Plymouth have never had a kick, haway Argyle! Plymouth work rate is on a par with their dockyard workers If Bolton turned up like this, and like they did last season against us, they wouldn't be in this league. Ian Evatt's looking like he's a good manager mind Winning a final at Wembley 100 years after winning the first one at the stadium makes it even more special. 79,389 there as well, biggest attendance in Europe this weekend. Happy for Bolton. Proper Football Club. Oh and here's a surprise we didnt get so much of a mention on the Wigan Blackburn and Tranmere forums
