Funny this, ive seen a few nominating me and it is nice and is genuinely appreciated, but I'm not going to start celebrating yet there's a maximum of 8 games left and if I miss one then the whole thing has been pointless. I'd vote for the kids, even if they did nearly deafen me on that bus to Shrewsbury constantly screaming Bolton songs! There's lots of reasons and motivations behind why I wanted to do this and why I chose this season but I'm not in it for any awards... and I definitely ain't going to go to any ceremony if I somehow won it over the Argentinean lot š To think that a year ago I was just assuming this 100% thing was going to be mildly difficult. It has been proper epic, ace, horrible, expensive, life affirming. Never again.4 likes

You've all seen this knocking about and ignored it. Lets be honest, theres dozens and dozens of lads on here who will piss all over the winner of this. My vote personally would go with Marc, but does he honestly care š. There are however a group of lads you've all seen at every home and away game, who would care about this, not only would they care, it would make their entire lives. Lewis, Alfie, Freddie, Louie, Jude, Olly and Parker. We've all seen them, thats a fact. Every single home and away game. Heres pictures of them at Ipswich, port vale, forest green, derby, barnsley, carlisle, longridge, accrington, morecambe, wembley, shrewsbury, fleetwood, sheff wed and Lincoln! If we can drop an email to media@bwfc.co.uk I honestly think as proper young kids travelling the length and bredth of the countery week in and week out they really deserve it. Far more than some other campaigns out there. Lewis, Alfie, Freddie, Louie, Jude, Olly and Parker.2 likes

I'm sure he's got a point as regards morons in the home end at Blackpool and other places where he's had stick. But the point is that a whole host of Northern Irish/Republic of Ireland footballers have got on just fine playing in England just by not going around with the grand canyon on their shoulder and actively looking for something to have a grudge about. If Anglo-Irish relations were based on the views of folk with a mindset like his we'd never have made any progress. I've got no Irish/northern Irish family links but I've worked with/known enough normal folk with Irish affiliations to know that they'd just look at him as a troublemaker/stirrer same as we do. We don't need to keep digging up the bad bits in English/Irish history Mr McLean - get out of the bunker mentality.2 likes

Absolutely fantastic this. Not seen anything about them before, but what friendships and memories they will have. Just imagine they all became players for bwfc!2 likes

shortire, mbete and adebayo all got game time during our good spell for 5 wins in a row so must've have contributed but haven't stood out or seemd to have done much on this current run of poor results / performances with the reliable players like Charles and Bradley making the difference so am not saying they are shit (though none played in our best game at wembley), but they aren't doing much to change games, other than adebayo, with some important goals to get results (but he certainly doesn't carry the same threat as charles) the january signings certainly don't seem to have had the same impact previous ones did (if you ignore the 5 wins in a row) unlike previous signings, i wouldn't be arsed if they werent here next season1 like

Perhaps I'm hopelessly optimistic but I think they've all got something about them. Big Dan in particular, looks to me like a player who could develop into a really good striker. Vic is the one who I'm probably most disappointed with so far. It reminds me a bit of the time we signed Holsworth. Focal point of a long ball team suddenly being asked to play football and with his back to goal. Hopefully, we'll get the best out of him after a full pre season.1 like

Said it before, I quite admired McLean's stance over the poppy. Made perfect sense given his background. However, he goes out of his way to deliberately provoke a response from opposition supporters. King of the knee slide and celebrations in front of them. Nice that he's had very few opportunities this season! It doesn't justify any sectarian abuse but I'll defend anyone's right to call him a c*nt cos he certainly is one.1 like

Lets not include penalties in judging a striker, as they don't really count! There is a reason the best finishers take them. As for not strong enough- not all finishers are muscle bound brutes. Robbie fowler virtually never won an aerial duel outside the box when battling with big centre half. But he achieved success in other ways, by being a good all round finisher and fox in the box. Charles is certainly capable of doing the business a league up- especially in a better side.1 like

We do get snobbish about the Premier league, non more so than me. It is the highest standard and best entertainment of all. But that doesnt mean the rest aren't. Italian football is ace, I love it. The standard is brilliant, the lowee echelons are more akin to ours, jeopardy all over the show. Our top is better than their top and games much more entertaining imo. The issues we face with VAR and suchlike is no different anywhere else. Its worse in Italy and play-acting miles worse. I just like watching good football, theres no better than the top end of the prem for that. The CL even better and city top of the shop. Our pyramid is what makes us different from the rest of the world. Some of the standards, gates and size of clubs across our league system is astonishing. Best in the world bar none.1 like

Do we know how Luton are doing it then? No snark, I'm genuinely interested as they're surely bucking that trend1 like

Didn't get Mbete stick either. 19 and is a bit rash with his decision making. Calmness will come with time. Think folk expected the full package when he's only played a dozen or so games of grown up football.1 like

Agree on mbete, the lads obviously talented. Wouldnāt mind getting him back here next season with a full pre season behind him, especially if we donāt go up.1 like

Even this was a Manchester United song. First sung at Old Trafford shortly after the Munich disaster before a Scouse band did a cover version a few years later.1 like

Just back. Went via the in laws in Coventry for the weekend. Got back to Cov around 7, set off home after some tea around 9. Ukrainian Easter, so absolutely stuffed with cheese and smoked sausage. Great day so far. Breakdown just after Keele: radiator coolant hose gone. Great. 3 hour wait, with irritable missus and excitable labrador... to get towed to Sandbach. Quoted Ā£300 and another 1, 2 hour wait for a different lorry to get home. "Fucked off" doesn't even cut it. So instead, my absolute saint of a mate (originally Everton, but now a BWFC ST holder for 2 seasons, and coming to Burton on Tuesday) picked us up in his Fiesta. We'll fetch our car tomorrow (today š). What you do for 3 points, eh?1 like

I agree itās all about the generation and location you were in. At school in Salford I was the only Wanderers fan amongst a sea of Utd and City fans, both who had top teams so it was kind of character building. That said, apart from micky taking there was no real animosity and certainly not hatred. At games there was no segregation and fans could mingle until the idiots took over and it became mayhem. I always respected the other old Lanky clubs as much the same as us with proud historyās. Wigan of course were still amateur so they didnāt really come into it then and to be fair Bury were a club we rarely played but many fans did Wanderers one week then Shakers the next when we were away. Times have obviously changed but I canāt say I actually āhateā any club. I might not like them but frankly Iām more content supporting Wanderers than wasting my time disliking others.1 like

As part of the agreement signed when they bought the club, Football Ventures paid out Ā£2.75m to the Eddie Davies Trust Fund, and another Ā£250,000 after promotion to League One. The accounts note that the Trust also wrote off the remaining Ā£2.75m. Got to respect them for that. š1 like
