MotM for me has to be the ball boy in front of me. Spotted the Barnsley ball towel early on and kicked it into a puddle. Top notch shithousery.6 likes

How many times does Morley want to give the ball away in key areas of the pitch, putting us under immense pressure? He did it against Accy a few weeks ago and we conceded because of it, his odd wonder strike or 40 yard pass masks his very poor recent performances. Regardless the midfield as a whole was weak today. Defence was immense but we kept giving them so much work to do from a barrage of long throws and corners. We have to be better at clearing the ball away, Dempsey passed it to their player rather than just lacing it up the pitch. Overall, we were poor but defended well. I actually think the away game will suit us more to bring our game and still more than confident. We are a better footballing side than Barnsley for sure, but they are stronger and much more physical and are not afraid of taking a shot from anywhere. Ps. Atmosphere was absolutely unreal, the start of the game I hadn't seen it like that since the Prem days under Big Sam. Crowd was immense.2 likes

39? Luca has developed into a really good player and fair play to the lad, after taking pelters from us all game, he did a full lap of the pitch at the end to applaud all the Bolton fans. One of the towels ended up in the middle of WSL Possibly his poorest game for a long while. I agree with so many others on here, but my take is that we can't be collectively that poor again and having got it through still on level terms, I fancy us to dispose of the Yorkshire puddings like a fat man eating a Sunday roast.1 like

Tykes haven't been the same since the mines shut. Sort of at a loss not being on strike.1 like

He doesn’t get it because they don’t trust him with it, and rightly so - he’s a poor player. Dec John is no world beater but I’ve no idea how he’s behind Williams for the starting spot, the team seems a lot more balanced with John there which helps Bradley out because it’s not as obvious that we’ll spend 90% of the time attacking down the right. To be fair to Williams, the cross for the goal was top drawer but he was so poor otherwise (a few others were but Williams is consistently poor).1 like

The support after their goal was great too. Must have been a big lift for the players. Probably 2,000ish empty in South Lower will certainly have been the bulk of the empty seats and there was a bit of a cluster in the north east corner.1 like

Off topic a bit- before the crowd was announced how many did you think were there? Even accounting for the empty section in the south stand, it didn't look as if the ground was 5000+ below capacity. Just my take on it, but the atmosphere before the game was fantastic, and plenty of volume after the goal too.1 like

What might help is that Oakwell is one of the widest pitches in the country - a yard narrower than Wembley and 3 yards wider than ours. But what would help even more would be for us to get our passing game together and play quicker through the lines. Barnsley's mid 3 pressed very high and we resorted to bypassing them with long balls that their big defenders lapped up and they won just about every second ball as well. With Barnsley over-committing, slick one touch passing - which we managed briefly in the second half - would carve them open like a knife through butter, but we have to show the quality and bravery to do it. That is what Evatt is aiming for after all and if we fail at least we'll fail being us.1 like

Not read the thread as I’m just back. Superb support. Jealous of those going to Oakwell. I’m 100% sure that those that go will create more noise than Barnsley today. The result will depend on what happens on the pitch though. We are more than capable of getting the right result.1 like

They are a shithousery team long throws play for set pieces . targeted Bradley with two heavy challenges in first 2 minutes any later in the game and would have been a booking .1 like

I don't disagree about John being a good crosser. I think Williams played because of his pace and our tactic of long in to out balls to the wing backs. Doesn't really matter hugely for me who plays there, so long as we are more on the front foot, and put the odd cross in from the right when there is decent opportunity to do so. If Lee can't manage a full game then maybe start him and try to get ahead. Replace with Thomason or MJ later. Today we struggled to maintain decent possession and didn't control midfield enough. Either better movement of Lee or more physicality of Thomason/MJ for me.1 like

It was a good result considering they just looked a bit better than us overall. If we did get promoted it's a sign of how much we'd need to strengthen. Whatever listens we continue to live in interesting times at BWFC1 like

Was out last night so only seen the goals this morning. Keeper's had a stinker for that first one. Second one looked like he could've done better too but it was a good strike in fairness. If that sort of result doesn't make you more nervous I don't know what will. However, I'm relieved that the chances of facing Sheffield in a final are now much lower. Now just got to do our business. If we lose today just hope we keep it within 1 goal.1 like

What? Your avatar suggests you're into the Middle Ages and/or the Crusades where the Christian Europeans had their ass handed to them by the Muslims, the final humiliation being the fall of Acre in 1291 - which was ultimately a good thing for Europeans as it ended 200 years of poverty and massive taxation to pay for a pointless war. So are you supporting 1) Saint George - the Turk? 2) Christian religious fanatics oppressing ordinary people? or 3) Muslims whupping Christians? My avatar is North Vietnamese artwork celebrating the end of French colonialism and the defeat of the Americans - although the reason I like it is because - it's artwork. That said I do like the way that some communist countries present their version of history and would strongly recommend a visit to the Museum of the Revolution in Havana - it's brilliant. My favourite bit was the rusty tractor with two steel plates welded on the side and a plaque outlining how it defeated the American tanks. Hilarious.1 like

There you go … Just you foaming mate. 5 people died during that riot, Trump knew exactly what he was doing and who he was stirring up. just enjoying the irony of you pulling your hair out every time the lefties hit the street, then jumping to Trumps defence the next. He’s a narcissistic prick.1 like

“Loyalty” in this day and age and relating to football is a short term view. the club isn’t really arsed whether you hadn’t missed a game in 10 years but couldn’t make a game this season. Whatever the reason. That doesn’t help their budgets. Loyalty is based on the here and now. So any scheme that comes in will Be based on games done this season as a starting point. To remain “loyal” and keep yourself in the higher points bracket you’ll need to remain active at away games from the start of next season. spend your money now, tomorrow and next week in order for you to spend more on us in the future. Simple as that1 like

How do you view loyalty. Is it just season by season ? Who is the most loyal....the person who has been to every game for 6 years or the 60 year old who has been to 6 games a year for 60 years? What about the students at uni who can't make every away, what about people with small children who used to go away all the time but can't now due to circumstances. Are they less loyal? Because according to a points system , they are less loyal. Me personally , loyalty lasts longer than one season. Just because someone went to Exeter or peterboro shouldn't give you any advantage on going to any other game.1 like
