  1. Loyalty is rare in life and even rarer in football. He’s been on the “journey” from Day One. Well done GT. Fully deserved improved contract. I honestly believe he’s better than most do too. Lets wait and see anyway.

  2. What a bizarre take from the situation.

  3. Can't find any Fleetwood forums, but this lad seems to be in awe of us. 😁 From the video description - "Bolton are incredible, an incredible atmosphere and an incredible team."

  4. I mean, it was slightly tongue in cheek but clearly wasn’t read as such. The 2 points are factual though, we didn’t cash in £1m for our 5th choice centre mid and we have now upped his wages. At no point did I suggest it was GT that demanded a higher wage, I highly doubt it was and was more us rewarding loyalty (and probably putting some clever clauses in there that we’ll never hear about). I’ve not made any secret of the fact that I don’t really rate him, and clearly I think that we could have used £1m better on the squad than have him sitting on our bench (or the additional wages on a better player) but I don’t hold it against the lad at all. I hope he carries on improving and becomes a mainstay of a successful Bolton team - I just don’t think he has any of the natural attributes to do so and would rather have £1m for him than worry about losing Santos or Charles instead. As for the Twitter pile on for people lauding him as “our future captain” etc etc - they can get to fuck, it’s another over reaction from a load of sheep that didn’t particularly rate him last week. Making a decision doesn’t make you a better player.

  5. Or the club felt it is in their best interests to do so? Do you really think he's gone and said "I'll stay, but only for more dosh"? Quite simply silly, and doesn't stand up to scrutiny- the club had accepted the offer, so were happy to let him go. Hardly suggests they were open to a touch of blackmail!

  6. Double kick in the nuts. No £1m and now we’ve had to use up some of the wage budget on our 5th choice cm who already had a 3 year contract. Oh and our fan base now think he’s the second coming because he turned down a move.

  7. Oh no, I'm with you. Ridiculous, but it's in the rules. Looked like the fourth official shopped him for it. Who'd have thought referees would be jobsworth twats(!)?

  8. Agree he needs to reel it in sometimes and he’s said as much himself in interviews but tinpot is an odd word to use arteta pep Klopp all are equally if not more rambunctious on the touchline

  11. Thick as fuck, that's what she is. If we're not voting for a party based on its former leaders, then after Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss & Sunak, the Tories might as well fold.

  13. It felt a bit of a let down in the end, which is weird as the game was just petering out towards our usual 3-0 victory. The ref decided he wanted to be the star of the show and he ruined a decent game. A couple of things to note though 1, Dion ain’t the brightest. 2, Evatt really needs to work on his own personal discipline, the way he performs on the touchline at times is unprofessional and a tad tinpot. Oh and Velas a cunt

  20. Charles? Second yellow - looked like he was in the ref’s ear because he wasn’t booking him for the initial fracas. Evatt - straight red.

  23. A little surprised, but with the squad he has Evatt can make such moves for tactical, fitness or whatever reasons. Perhaps an eye on Wigan Saturday.

  25. Is it true that the toilet cubicles in the home changing rooms at Wigan have each had a glory hole installed with a picture of James MacCleans face painted around it? Or was that a scurrilous lie and it’s Dave Whelan’s mug? I bet it is. Filthy beggars.

If you ever find yourself down Green Genie's neck of the woods then the boat trip from the harbour there is brill too. Hopefully come back gutted at missing 2 belting results.

  32. My other half is brutal about this (mainly because she pays the gas and leccy bills) She reads the meter weekly and certainly as soon as the fuel prices kept rising keep a very beady eye on it. I look after the water and I have to say I was lovely my 20 minute showers until I was bollocked was it was wasting electric, so now its showering at the gym three times a week when I go instead of coming back home! 😄

  33. Yeah - last couple of winters I got a small electric heater for my 'office' put it on an hour in the morning and then I used an electric blanket if it was really cold. Seemed to work fine. Our issue is that we don't have a tumble dryer, so getting clothes dry in winter is a pain, but got a couple of electric clothes horses and that was a lot better than whacking the heating on.

  36. Can’t say I understand the “at this level” or “to watch 3rd tier football” comment. I tend to agree that £30 is too much, but it’s not because we are in League 1. I’m paying to watch Bolton, not the opposition, and watching Bolton in the Championship, L1, L2 etc. is worth the same in terms of entertainment value in my eyes. The only reason I could see for paying less in lower leagues would be the facilities in stadiums - I.e. you get much less in terms of facilities and experience vs. the grounds in the higher leagues (although I doubt many take that into consideration with prices).

  37. Wade Elliot's comment that our 5 subs that came on against Cheltenham would walk into any League 1 team has a ring of truth about it - although I'm still not sure about Dan - but we have the squad to put out a team for any opposition without weakening it in theory. And that's what IE claims he wants - the ability to tinker with the starting team to "tailor it" for each game i.e. bespoke rather than rotation as we know it. Just have to trust he knows what he's doing.

  38. Crikey, he’s one from the past. I remember him and Danny Wilson tearing up the boozers in Swinton and Pendlebury in the 70’s early 80’s.

  43. TMJ thinks we’re making the problem worse by ‘taking them away from the regime’. RW keeps desperately bringing up some minor point to win an argument that never existed. It’s all a bit surreal sometimes. Can we not just all agree that he deserves to stay? Like Mounts did.

  47. Not sure why such an obsession with Wigan’s crowds. If we crow about selling 15k S/Ts, are Leeds or Sheff Wed justified calling us tinpot? It’s all relative, 10k for them in Div 1 is good just like 4K for Fleetwood, Morecame and Accy is. It’s like other clubs can only be pleased with a crowd if it’s bigger than ours.
