  1. Dempsey was immense second half was one way traffic getting home at 1.30 will be worth it

  2. Should have seen a WhatsApp group Im in. Stubbornness personified was a quote at 1 second into 2nd half and we'd made no subs. We had ryan offering to print out Evatts record against the top 6 from last season. Too many changes. Defence is shit. Mags is shit. Everyone is shit. 45 minutes later its well we shouldve won anyway.

  3. I really wish people would stop calling Thomason our best midfielder, makes me a bit ill. He's currently the best we've got to play that deeper "ball winning" role supporting Sheehan but he's far from our best midfielder in any other regard.

  4. I loved that too. It can only help be being positive and supporting our players instead of getting on their backs. Coleman is a Bolton lad and has barely put a foot wrong, let's get behind him.

  5. No offence but that’s exactly why you’re not a football manager. Pushing Sheehan forward is an absolute no no, no other player can play that role, especially not GT (as proven earlier in the year). We don’t have a 10, so playing Collins in midfield would essentially give us 1 less midfielder and Sheehan and GT would be pulled all over the place! There will be changes but I can guarantee that Sheehan will play exactly where he has for the last 25 games and neither Collins nor CMG will be in midfield.

  7. As long as we can keep these little runs going with an av of 2 points a game over the 4 or so then we’ll be fine.

  8. Lost 0-3 to Posh tonight. Saw 10 minutes at half time in our game. They were playing a very high press against Posh but got ripped a new one. Same result Saturday please.

  10. Only 6k on too. Apathy is rife. Wont be on Saturday mind. We need to be out firing. Vic and Collins to start.

  11. Furry muff. From a different slant I think that Cambridge team has changed somewhat under Harris. Last 3 seasons they’ve looked good against us but tonight I thought they were basic. No reflection on us as we did what we needed to bring the 3 points home. Lyle Taylor looks to lash out at Iredale twice to me. Ref probably fed up of his moaning at the end. These shouldn’t be beaten at home too which hasn’t always been a given for us.

  17. Lovely Well deserved From 15 to 80 we were a class apart Massive, massive 3 points too I fear the worst for the next 2 but while theyre not free hits, its bought us a bit of slack CMG is another very strange Evatt signing...isnt that how it goes, neggos? Though he shouldve had at least 2, poss 4 tonight

  19. Played well second half and deservedly won really in the end. We can’t keep going a goal down though and starting games so slowly. To put in into context we were 5/1 to win this game at HT. Fair play to those who travelled from the north, especially twice. 👏

  23. Strikers haven’t had any service no point blaming them. Simple pass on to Bod and Coggers wasted it, Ogbeta did the hard work then completely lost in the cross. We can’t say we haven’t created the opportunities, it’s our fault if we blow them. Passing is just awful and lacking the composure to finish anything.need a reaction now.

  24. More wank passing out from the back. Pressing strong, so either pass it quicker and better to play through it, or mix it and look to get in behind. Yet again, a poor start.

  28. I think we all can mate 🤦‍♂️. That said, if we've got anything like full strength out there, we'll win because we're better than them. Same goes for Barnsley

  29. was a 5.30pm game just before christmas got on it early doors so was nicely oiled by the time the match started - spent most the time under the stand and missed the first two goals at 2-0 they shut the bars so we decided to go to scotts and carry on watching there was pissing it down so had to leg it and by the time we got in Scotts it was 4-0 so whilst being there managed to miss all 4 goals

  31. Well, its pretty easy to bat back - Starmer is on -2 approval rating. Which although they've had a bad week, isn't quite as bumpy as some predicted and the blows keep coming for Sunak, he just can't seem to get up off the canvas. Plus it's only leader's approvals, but considering Sunak was always well above his party's rating and nicely bumping alongside a not particularly popular Labour leader, now shows that the public don't think he's steering the ship into the competent techocratic government he promised when he took office. Things like this don't help - really clunky messaging. What on earth is going on at Conservative Central Office - this isn't the way to tackle a sensible discussion about immigration. It looks like he's attacking those who look after our nans for the lowest pay.

  35. You could make an argument for all of them as to what they’re ’best’ at. Sheehan is our best midfielder though. No doubt whatsoever. The others can be replaced by each other, he can’t.

  37. Both key players in different roles. Thomason can fire balls out that nobody else can. Hes can also get physical and isnt bullied easy. Obviously he takes that side to his game a little too far. We are worse without him thats for certain.

  39. Liverpool have a tremendous sqaud but take Alison, Van Dyke and Salah out of the team they arent the same either. Plus another couple of defenders and your best midfielder suspended. Any team would struggle with a cobbled together defence and new keeper, especially with a system as finely tuned as ours.

  40. Goalkeeping position is fine with Coleman and Hutch. People are forgetting the drop off in the past to Crellin and Dixon, this is nothing like it. And defensive options are fine too. We've got such a strong squad you can't really complain with the team we're putting out. They're just not playing well. Time to sort it tonight, no injury excuses

  41. I heard a guy on BoltonFM on the way back too who said we need to start playing with a plan B and mix it up, playing direct to big men upfront. Jesus wept, and he's not the only one. The amount of times I heard groans and moans again from the same folk around me every time we played it back. It's like we control the game, have chances, then concede a, yes, shite goal from nowhere. So then we should just drop all of our tactical prowess and build up and just revert to long direct balls, simply because we are just 1 goal behind? One of the majority components of a possession style of football is to pass it back, recycle and go again when a certain pass isn't on. Especially more important when playing against dangerous counter attacking teams in transition. It was defensive mistakes that cost us the extra 2 points today. Our style is the reason we scored 3 goals, 3rd in the table with 2/3 games in hand, scored the most goals in the EFL in 2023, 3rd most points and most clean sheets. Maybe Evatt might know what he's doing? But no, let's just sack that all off because it's tippy tappy rubbish and we'd be better if our keeper went long every time. Here's an interesting fact, despite the amount of challenges at the minute, red cards, injuries, fixture postponements & congestion, we've lost just 1 in 11, drawing 3, winning 7. Not bad for "shocking form". Let's have a bit more positivity eh?

  42. You only really notice how important santos is when he’s not there. Yes he has his faults but you can tell the other lads playing either side of him feel far more secure just by his presence. Without him they shrink, there’s hesitancy, no one’s sure who should be going for what, they step off half a yard and it just looks absolutely shambolic. Coleman will look better with santos in the middle too. id be more concerned if his and Baxter’s respective times on the sidelines where the other way round.

  43. Not arsed about PNE one bit. Preston a good day out, mind. Don’t care what anyone says but none of those games have anything close to the edge of the games against Wigan.
