  3. There is a generation of men, who have been lucky. They are children of those who sacrificed everything to ensure we all have freedom. But they have huge egos and tiny sense of self. These men (and it is men) haven't been though a war, they have only lived through economic growth (and when buying a house was possible) Then they have the arrogance to sit on monetarily upswing that was nothing to do with them and chastise their younger generations. And they sit behind a flag they did nothing to earn and critise others who have done better then them. Fuck off to Thailand or Australia- I don't think this country is fucked, its great and accepting, and I'll be staying here long after some 'true Brits' bones are buried in Western Australia.

  5. Becoming like Groundhog Day these Saturday afternoons recently. Coulda / shoulda but didn’t performances, results, Evatts comments all becoming very tedious. if he’s trying to create a bit of a siege mentality he’s going the wrong way about it commenting on the fanbase so often. If he’s thinking it’s too harsh and they shouldn’t be receiving any criticism he’s a moon man. To be honest he’s lucky to still be here. If those games in L2 weren’t behind closed doors he’d of been fucked off well before Jan because the noise coming from the stands would’ve forced a change. it’s alright people coming out with the “careful what you wish for views” if he does leave at the end of the season but the same applies to him too. Won’t rock up at many clubs with the support of the board, back room, admin, fans and fucking tea lady as he’s had here.

  6. One thing that has become ridiculously apparent over the past few weeks are the amount of fans that seem to think Evatt is bigger than the club and we should just be glad he is here. He’s above criticism in some peoples eyes. There are plenty of managers out there that would kill for this job and a lot that would no doubt do a better job

  7. There was another team on the pitch , a horrible team to play against on a postage stamp of a pitch .Only Oxford in the top eight have beaten them on their own ground. It’s actually not over yet & I agree we need a massive upturn in form but Christ what we need is for our supporters to get right behind these lads & stop whinging .

  8. No arguments from me, we’re all wanting the same thing as fans, it’s really frustrating as I thought after two weeks on the training ground we would have been bang at it, the fact we weren’t makes you start analysing the performance. Hope the wine numbs your frustrating journey home.

  10. Think we all feel there's a tendency not to show up in the big games. To be fair, looking at other teams forums they all tend to feel the same way. I love a spurious stat, so thought I'd compare this season to last and to previous successful seasons. These are our results against teams who were in the top 8 at the time we played them (hence differing number of games over different seasons). 2023/24 P W D L Pts ppg Home 6 4 2 0 14 2.33 Away 7 2 2 3 8 1.14 Total 13 6 4 3 22 1.69 2022/23 P W D L Pts ppg Home 8 3 3 2 12 1.50 Away 6 2 1 3 7 1.17 Total 14 5 4 5 19 1.36 Improvement on last season due to better home results. Not yet bettered our away form, but a win today at Stevenage will pull that up. 2016/17 P W D L Pts ppg Home 5 4 1 0 13 2.60 Away 6 2 2 2 8 1.33 Total 11 6 3 2 21 1.91 Bit behind when we went up under PP, but again a win today takes us to 1.79 ppg, a bit closer (and win v Portsmouth and Pbro and we better it). 2000/01 P W D L Pts ppg Home 6 2 1 3 7 1.17 Away 5 1 3 1 6 1.20 Total 11 3 4 4 13 1.18 Worst of this bunch, when we went up with Sam. Surprisingly poor results against those around us. And just for a comparison we can all dream of .... 1996/97 P W D L Pts ppg Home 10 5 5 0 20 2.00 Away 9 5 4 0 19 2.11 Total 19 10 9 0 39 2.05 Interpret however you want, but for me shows we're in the ballpark compared with previous successful seasons (and will be when we win our three remaining!)

  11. Good grief How on earth is Collins dropping so deep the fault of the midfielders? He had to come deep because he was partnered with a cart horse that did feck all. Jerome couldn’t hold it when we went long which led to Collins coming short for it.

  12. Just a solid performer compared to JDB and Collins twatting about with his shin pads. Proper pro and defenders don’t know how to deal with him

  13. Collins playing defensive midfield is the fault of the midfield three. I’m not saying Jerome is the messiah but fuck me the way folk carry on you’d think they’ve stuck one of us lot up top rather than someone who has been a solid 7/10 every time he’s pulled on a shirt (and that’s one I’d defend to the hilt btw) In fact out of all the issues today I’d say Jerome is very, very low on that list

  20. I don't agree. We lost arguably our three most effective players in Baxter, Rico and Dion. And then our second striker not long after. I doubt there's many clubs in the division who wouldn't get wobbled by that.

  23. Whether you like Bod or not, anyone who thinks Jer0me is more of a goal threat than Bod is in the moon man league. 2 weeks off. No excuse for me for that decision

  25. I know what you mean mate - playoffs are awful when you're in them. But we really need to somehow get up.this season. I honestly feel failing to will impact our progress badly. We're not a good playoff team, but if blackpool aren't in, we'll have a chance 🤞

  26. Completely agree. Look at Derby against us 2 weeks ago. Their main strikers were injured, Gayle got injured and they played the rest of the game against us with no fit strikers. They scored a goal from the right back from a corner and won 1-0. They won 1-0 again today. We have 3 strikers including League 1s player of the season last season. Derby are getting the job done with a crippled and old squad. Pompey been crippled all season and will win the league. Absolutely no excuse, in 2024 we have been shocking.

  28. Course it does, but teams that get promoted overcome, adapt and find a way. At no point did even look like threatening today, at all. I'm sorry mate, not looking for an argument. I'm just sat on a minibus, drinking wine, at the start of a long journey home. I'm sulking

  29. We all have our own takes, but me personally I just felt indifferent, I watched that game just sat back with not ounce of excitement of belief. I wasn't even bothered, I just felt that nothing was ever going to happen and it was like a pre season game. I feel that the performance was extremely worrying, as much as the result. We played with zero urgency, I don't remember a single good chance or even a shot in the last 20 minutes. Players looked stiff, static and had no belief about them. 1 win in 5, 4 wins in 12. Im trying to think of reasons to be positive. Could be 3 points behind Derby with a game in hand on Tuesday night if Pompey do a favour. But it feels like every week we are saying if this, if that, and it's only getting worse and closer to the end of the season. There was a point that if we won x, we'd be 6 points clear of 3rd. Season has been slipping away from us for a while now.

  30. 12th in the league since January. 5 wins in 14 games. It's not over til it's over, but that's pretty damning. Nowhere near as good as we think we are.
