  1. Reform? The lunatic fringe of conservative politics? Had you been championing a party closer to David Cameron/ George Osborne style Tories (even though I don't agree with them politically) I might have thought you wanted something beneficial for the country and a return to sensible politics. Reform are no more a sensible political choice than the Communist Party. Just gobshites stirring up pointless culture war bollocks the same as that twat in the lala land thread just coming from the other end of the political spectrum.

  2. It’s bit like the Broken Windows theory in criminology, though. if the kitchen comment barely sends a ripple, what about a slightly more serious comment or offence; and so it perpetuates. I’m hardly a “snowflake” type, but respect for referees at all levels but, especially, at grassroots level, should and must be enforced.

  3. Tory members didn’t vote for this half mast trousered little twat. Probably because they couldn’t be trusted after their last effort with Truss.

  9. Jesus, how far have we gone when this is how people go about drumming up support. When Julia H-B is outraged by the suggestion you would hope others will realise too. No doubt he is just speaking for the silent minority.

  10. Another great one gone. I remember a match at Blackpool around 1970 when he took down a Blackpool player with only the keeper to beat. A few days later, on the Burnden forecourt, I met him with other fans as he was going in before a match. A very well known Bolton lad at the time said ‘it was never a foul Charlie, never’ I can still see the big smile on his face. RIP Big Man.

  13. Exactly that. Why everything is so fucked up in this country. She stands for the working classes. How can you live in an ex industrial northern town and vote for those elitist corrupt set of blue bastards instead of lasses like her? Reece Mogg/Gove etc? Over Burnham/Raynor? Do me a favour..m

  14. Grampa Spencer often wished we could get Fred Barber on penalties the force he put in to his shots in warm up. Imagine there's some power built up in legs that have spent their life booting a ball as far as they can down field.

  16. My nephew ran the London Marathon last week 4X back to back, just shy of 105 miles - started Saturday evening at the finish line, ran the course 3 times, to pick up his slot in the actual marathon for his 4th trip. This was to set himself a challenge after doing it 3x back to back last year.

  17. 20, if you're heading straight there. Only a mile from station. turn right as you come out and cut all the way through the car park as far as you can, then onto the main road. Take a right after Asda and it's a straight run from there.

  18. I see Labour announced they’re taking back control of the rail network, great news and a proper election vote winner for me… hopefully just the beginning of the end for private business running/ruining our national infrastructure.

  19. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not a betting man but that Bet365 price was too good to ignore. Had to set up an account and get on it. I'll be pissed off anyway if we lose so the stake won't make it worse but if it goes our way I'll be absolutely stoked for 2 reasons.

  20. Funny game football. Might have been better waiting until after the game until having a pop at 'deluded cunts'. I think you are correct in what the result will be. Can't see anything other than a comfortable Derby win. Why set yourself up though? The 1% shot does get up on occasion. Personally, I hope the deluded cunts are right in this case. For the record, the punters club I am involved in down here does a football double every weekend. Last weekend it was a pissy $1.50 double on Atalanta to qualify (with a 3-0 lead at half time!) and a weekend Braga victory over the bottom of the league. The latter only got up in the late stages of the game! This weekend I have been able to persuade them to pair Derby County with the one they had already isolated (barcodes). This time it's a $1.72 double. Even though thousands go on, I won't be disappointed if Derby lose and we lose our stake for only the fourth time this season.
