Aye. The sheer numbers involved means it’s going to be an absolute shitshow to administer. Probably be farmed out to some Tory donor for billions. Anyway, no drama as it won’t happen because these fuckers are in the bin come July 5th.4 likes

Phil Brown was part of a golden era for the club, and there's a time he could have been disappointed not to get the job here. However, football moves on. He still has a role to play at some clubs, but not one on an upwardly mobile trajectory. Mousinho, Buckingham, McKenna, De Zerbi et al are all up and coming young managers that move clubs forward (before they get tempted by the bigger jobs). Contrary to popular belief, we have one of those managers in Evatt. The Play Off final was incredibly disappointing, but to lose him and have Phil Brown in charge would leave me shaking my head (I don't need to worry since at least half of that won't happen). I wouldn't blame Evatt for leaving. The reaction of the fanbase has been way OTT over the last two weeks. All the talk of players lacking big game mentality has, worryingly (reading comments from both Evatt and Jones) seeped into the players. They didn't lose a single game to their play off rivals during the season, and won one / lost one against Derby. In terms of those big games, only Pompey got the better of us. Sure, the Blackpool and Wigan games were disappointing for fans because of the derby aspect but over a season, only Pompey lost fewer games. The players don't lack mentality at all. There were simply 2 better teams than us (Oxford weren't over the season but were in a one off). I hope Evatt stays and i hope he sticks to his principles. There needs to be a little refresh of the squad for sure, and there'll be discussions about cashing in on players out of contract in 12 months time. Criticism of Santos and others is crazy! With him in charge, I fully expect us to challenge again (this idea it'll be more competitive I just don't buy - Stockport will be a mid table club, Wrexham won't get up again with Phil in charge (see my comment above about young managers), Barnsley will fall away. Peterboro will flirt around the play offs. Birmingham have a lot of issues to sort, I could go on. Stability is key and we'll be reet. ... and if you're feeling emotional about it, just remember we were a day or two away from watching AFC Bolton in a Northern Premier League game next season.4 likes

It appeals to thicko's who it will never affect, and distracts from a decade of failure. That's basically it.3 likes

We are well capable of getting promoted next season, we know the division, we have basis of a top team at this level, Johnston back is like a new player, couple of tweaks within the squad and finding a plan B&C and using this seasons disappointment as a motivator I’d not rule us out and we should not be feared of anyone. (I’m now firmly in the keep Evatt camp, as we need as little upheaval as possible)2 likes

We stick to our usual game-plan and don't play to the occasion in my view... hence us coming second best in local derbies2 likes

Ta mate. Yeah there’s not much round here that fits in with when I can do it. Would love to get him into futsal. Just want some simple drills. Get him and the ball and touching it and passing it rather than running around like a headless chicken. Hes only 8 coming up on 9 so don’t want to go full on coaching. Just some simple stuff1 like

True, all the kids we employ earn just under the tax threshold. Only joking, we don't actually pay them.1 like

100%, I'd maybe push that to 75. They should lose the vote, and get their driving licence taken off them on their 75th birthday1 like

Just last Thursday, the Govt said they had no plans to bring it in. The whole thing smacks of a daft idea, spouted by Sunak or someone close to him and they're now making up policies for it as they go along.1 like

I think Charlton will be contender next season, can’t see a repeat of this seasons point tally being required either.1 like

And all of these people will require checking via DBS before any work is started. Which company that donates to the Tories will get the contract and what happens if they fail the DBS?1 like

If I look back on the season we’ve failed in those big games because we didn’t have a plan B, Oxford and Southampton both set up to nullify the oppositions better players in the play offs, hit on the break and after scoring defend deep and with commitment, it’s a style that the Italians use in big games and one we need to be able to do when the occasion arises, Wigan away, blackpool away, Pompey and derby away and Oxford at Wembley we’re the perfect games to employ those tactics.1 like

No no no, sir. We need the managerial prowess of a man that has just been relegated from the national league 🤦♂️1 like

Fuck me the Oxford game was massively disappointing and things need an improvement to get over the hump and get promoted but some of the reactions are as if we've been shit all season and got relegated on a record low points total.1 like

Saw that advertised but it clashes with something we've already got booked otherwise would have gone to it. Great day yesterday, rough now.1 like

Just spent a lovely hour watching Gladys Knight. There may have been some pips as well. Aretha’s crown may have to be passed on. Some may disagree. 😊 Its on iPlayer if anyone interested wants to watch it.1 like

It's well written. Obviously quite strong- definitely written by a fan- but it's not based on pure guesswork or similar, but with some player knowledge to back it up. Might not agree with every aspect, but it's a thoughtful piece nevertheless.1 like

Only skim read it but preaches to the choir. Getting sick of wingbacks. Cogley and Jones for RB are two solid options. But they’re not effective enough having the whole flank to take care of. Iredale and Williams similar on the other side. Sign a winger on a permanent basis. Plus get a couple of talented young loans from the higher leagues and we are set with Collins and CMG also capable. Charles, Vic and Dan to battle it out for the striker position. 4-3-3 sexy football for a season, I reckon we’d smash teams aside much more. Be a lot easier to build if we sell any of our prize assets and generate some funds. But even if we didn’t sell, I don’t think it would cost a fortune to change it.1 like

Interesting how, inside a week, almost everyone is writing Santos off. I'm a critic of him tbh but this sweep-out seems dramatic.1 like
