Genuinely quite shocked and saddened at some of these posts on here. There are so many kind, caring and friendly Muslim families who live in this country and in our town. I see this regularly and those who know me well know I witness this on a regular basis. Maybe I shouldn’t bite. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding some twisted humour that exists on here at times. It reminds me why I don’t come on this side of the forum too much. Just felt it needed saying. Adios!7 likes

Why? Seems like another instance someone seeing only black or white. Not doubt there are many decent Muslims here. Not the point whatsoever. There are many, and increasingly more, that aren't decent. I've also witnessed behaviour through work, some good some bad. My wife was also sexually assaulted by a Pakistani teen over here visiting relatives. Thought that white women are easy, and essentially worthless. I'd have kicked the cunt in the head if I'd been there. Thought it needed saying.5 likes

So if you raise some issues with Islam and some of their cultures and core beliefs and how they don't necessarily integrate well with our society you are right wing. But then by being right wing it's automatically assumed you don't like gays? Jesus. So then we have the left wing who are usually pro LBTQ+ defending to the hilt a faith and set of beliefs that deplore homosexuality. Jesus. That's where it all breaks down. I personally am that liberal I can't stand a faith or ideology that constraints women and putting it mildly opposes homosexuallty and everything that comes with it. Same goes for any faith. Islam is different to others though, clearly.4 likes

I am genuinely of the opinion that he'd have done a job here. Obviously I don't know the full situation but I think that was a miss.3 likes

I like it, but mainly for the fact that it seems to have pissed off a load of weirdo's who think the club is "bowing down to the woke brigade" and because it's got "girlie" colours.3 likes

Akhmed Yakoob is a solicitor from Birmingham who is representing the 2 lads and is currently under investigation for using social media to make false claims of racism against a young school teacher. He is well known in Birmingham for stirring up shit. He tried to influence the voting in the General Election in Birmingham. Dangerous bloke 😡3 likes

How the fuck is that allowed to happen in the UK in 2024. Who the fuck do these cunts think they are . This is the result of years of turning a blind eye to their behaviour, letting them play the race card at every opportunity and being scared to do anything for fear of being labelled a racist. These fuckers think they are above any law in this land that they call home. No matter which "community "The police should be out there policing not fucking hiding. If one of theirs crosses the line which may or may not have happened the other night there are processes in place to deal with it . We can't have angry mobs turning up demanding their own brand of justice no matter where they are from or which fairytale they choose to believe. Im sorry it is time for the UK to have a long hard look at itself and man the fuck up3 likes

Fair play to McGinlay doing that, I love his passion for BWFC and Bolton generally. Just think if Rioch hadn't signed him. Proper legend for this club and town.2 likes

This is the type of policing we should be more worried/concerned about. These are the ones who should be suspended .2 likes

We've been much too lax and naive regarding Islamic extremist groups in this country, to the extent that Hizb-ut-Tahrir - an extremist grouped banned in much of the Arab world and in Mainland Europe - were permitted to hold a demonstration in London earlier this year calling for "Muslim armies" and jihad in response to events in Gaza, with the Met police publicly defending it Thankfully, sense has since prevailed and Hizb-ut-Tahrir has now been proscribed as a terrorist organisation Another example of the authorities' naivety would be the fact that two of the members of the Met's own counter-terrorism advisory board had to resign due to their own unsavoury views and associations2 likes

see that's the thing, you're being a bit too broad there yes, some islamics take things to the extreme in their beliefs, and some even further with their actions, but that doesn't mean the vast majority of muslims cannot integrate perfectly well into every day life the in the UK and other countries i've known plenty, they just get on with it, you wouldn't even know they were a muslim half the time one girl who i used to manage, manc born and bred, had an arranged marriage with a lad in pakistan couldn't get my head round it but she could not have been happier with her lot, far happier than some of the other married folk in the office so to talk about islam and the "muslim community" as though they all hold the same level of beliefs is wrong for me and to say islam does not mix well with "western values" or our "society", which folk say a lot, well, look at the western values I just posted, they look very aligned to me in their attitudes towards gods, women and gays, our "society" is hardly a shining beacon of how to live a good life a good example of how different muslims in the same "community" can be watch The Push, about a Muslim man who murdered his muslim wife: https://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-push-murder-on-the-cliff the guy and his family are abhorent cunts and quite clearly a bad example of islam and how it really can be a stone age backwards way to live a llife the women and her family were one of the nicest most integrated families you could meet, no different than you and me, other than they do prayers and go to the mosque, there is absolutely nothing about them that suggests they cannot live side by side with anyone else and both families are from the same community, go to the same mosque, follow the same religion the problem is, as always, it's the extereme ones who get the headlines and that you notice because of how different they are in terms they go about their lives no idea what they did in the first pllce, but those lads at the airport, like a lot of lads on here on a match day, probably don't like behind treated like cunts by the police because of how they look, but they fought back and got tasered and twatted, and based purely on the videos, i don't blame them as one get pepper sprayed for no apparent reason2 likes

Yep. Muslim percentage in England approx 6.7% In Scotland 1.4% In Edinburgh less that 3% London around 15% Old milltowns etc- the ones we all know- are all significantly higher than the average. Edinburgh is quite an expensive place, and I would imagine that the majority of Muslims and indeed any group, are on average, better educated and well off than those elsewhere. As such, social attitudes will be more closely aligned. Increasingly, those born here are becoming more "extreme", with a number of factors behind that. Increasingly areas are becoming more separated, and not integrated. Living in self-righteous, ideological cloud cuckoo land will achieve 100% of fuck all.2 likes

Santos was knocked off the ball by a player that cost Everton £27.5m (Moise Kean), so in his defence, I would say that he did pretty well against him except for that one glaringly obvious fuck up.1 like

I disagree. Formation only changed second half out of necessity when Collins went off. But as friendly matches ago, against a top level opponent, I thought we handled it pretty well. Stay positive.1 like

Santos has gone backwards in the last 12 months imo. He’s a shadow of the player he was & he doesn’t look that arsed about it.1 like

I'm inclined to think it did but saw a documentary once and it put forward some very compelling reasons/arguements/points each backed up with why evidence as to why they thought it was fake and when they presented them to some nasa bod to dispel, he basically just said to each one "nah, that's bollocks" but didn't say why it was bollocks (maybe he did but they edited it out) made me think1 like

A misconception that we weren't doing much about renewables- that graphic illustrates just that. From around 6% to almost 50% in the tenure. Good going. It's a bit silly though to almost ignore gas etc in the meantime- they're still needed until more renewables are available. Hope we don't become reliant on imports before we reach the net zero target, as that is a risk, and not a secure situation. Time will tell. The use of the crown estate is interesting- from what I understand it takes any borrowing off the government books and onto the crown estate. Makes sense in a way, but presumably that also takes some of any profits off the state and into the crown estate. I think it's right that onshore wind be utilised again as they're quicker to erect, although smaller and less productive.1 like

I agree with you that there'd be conflict regardless - that's the human condition sadly - but religion can be a driver of conflict on its own Some religious texts are just outright calls for violence1 like
