  1. Speaking of mums sewing on badges, god knows what mine thought putting this bottom one on my 1970s scarf. (think I posted this before but worth a second airing)

  2. Losing his rag? He's just been wrestled to the ground and twatted about 10 times after his female colleague. They aren't bloody robots ffs.

  3. After seeing the video of it all kicking off I was wrong saying the copper should get sent down. The lad on the floor was lucky it was only a kick to the face and not a bullet to the head.

  4. My brother was a cadet/ pc/sergeant then inspector. My sister in law was a PC. Both my wife and sister have/do work for the police. All fully support the Bobby suspended. It’s easy making judgments sitting in an armchair (or expensive office chair) without any idea of the thoughts and stresses of an officer in an assault incident. Back when policemen wore ties, my brother was instrumental in the regulation changing from a tie to a ‘clip on’ after he was nearly throttled by some bloke in Eccles. If you brutally attack, two women firearms officers, as the main assailant did, expect to get shot. He was lucky he only got a kicking.

  5. Now I can see why the lads have tried to get out in front of this and gather support from the brotherhood before the whole story emerged. they knew they were in the shit

  8. They’ll be backed as they always are but I do think people’s patience will be thinner this season. It’s shit or bust time for Evatt and there’s 33,000 Wembley receipts that have been kept… if the start isn’t great it will come on top pretty quickly.

  9. I’d have not stopped stamping on his head for 5 minutes. i think the copper has total mitigation based on the twatting they’d just received they HAD to regain control of a situation that looked like it was spiralling out of control none of us on here would even contemplate going for police officers like that.

  10. I've NEVER seen that photo before! It is clearly an Oxford inter-College (Cuppers) match and I think it must be 1969, so it's on the track at Iffley Road where Bannister first ran a sub-4 minute mile. Looking at the photo it is clearly 1969 because 2 of the 6 runners were doing one-year Postgrad teaching diplomas. My training diary tells me it was Monday 19th May. My training diary reads: Cuppers final 1 mile jog etc 880 1st 2:01.2. 64 to bell, 2nd at Hugh Richards' shoulder from start to 600. Then broke, taking quick lead and holding it, easing considerably in straight. 1 mile 68.2, 2:15, dropped 3:32, 4:57.6 (3rd) easing. 440 53ish 5th. Tired. The photo appears to be taken from the top of the judges stand, hence looking down to the runners. Was it by Bill Potter (later fashion photographer for Daily Expess) or Oxford Mail.

  14. If you watch the second video, the main assailant was punching shit out of two policewomen whilst the accused Bobby was dealing with the other guy. He was then attacked from behind and dragged to the ground before regaining the initiative and then the kicking and stamping incident occurred. It wasn’t premeditated, it was a reaction to a very violent and dangerous situation. I doubt any court will convict him for that.

  15. My lad watched GOT as a baby. I say watched he snoozed in his bouncer facing me whilst I watched it. Never really swore around him when he was little, now at 12 despite being taught about appropriate language for appropriate situations he has self imposed a swearing ban on himself til he's 16, the little autistic weirdo.

  19. He does come in for a lot of stick that's over the top. He's a genuine bloke who loves the club. His time as a player shouldn't be forgotten in his legacy here. He definitely made mistakes and got found out as a manager. His time at Bolton was badly affected by key players not being available - Holden, Muamba etc. But you'd have to guess that over time things would have degenerated anyway

  22. “PC Plod can you give your version of events” ”Yes, 3 of my colleagues including 2 women were being violently attacked by 2 x large males, I made numerous calls for them to stop whilst intervening, seconds later I received a heavy blow from behind which caused me to momentarily black out out before being thrown to the floor, I was stunned and scared for myself and colleagues, when I got my feet, I was confused, disoriented and scared and stupidly kicked out, I admit this was a mistake but I wasn’t thinking straight from the blow which I received and which I am still having problems from to this day………… Bla bla bla” Promotion and pay rise please

  32. We see a snapshot of what the police see every day, there's 1000s off sick with things they've seen or done or had to deal with, plus the fact that nobody wants to be your mate, as your a cop..

  33. Laugh away. It’s a great sentence 😁 the sound of 33 kids attempting to play them would make anyone want to launch one at the adult making them do it 😂 But aye, It’s not acceptable & shouldn’t be part of the job. But most of the kids finished the year calmer & happier for it. So it some ways it was worth it. The parent can get to fck.

  42. He really is an insipid little cockwipe (fanny 5). A clear and obvious product of teaching methods which promote the complete denigration of the history of a truly great nation which has had a profound effect on the development of the world. Far more to be proud of than be ashamed of. There's some beer guts, IQ deficiencies, low tooth counts and fashion faux pas amongst that huge crowd. Not all of them by any means though. I would rather stand shoulder to shoulder with any one of them than with a limp, shrinking violet like him. Wasn't he the one who gave birth on here to 'sickened'. Now that's an embarrassment.

  43. Being linked with Southampton forward Dom Ballard 19 who spent a few weeks on loan scoring 5 in 12 before snapping his Patella Tendon which ruled him out from November until the end of the season. This last part makes me feel there may be some truth in it

  48. Not been able to travel out of the UK for the last couple of months as I’ve been busy getting my Mum sorted in day care for her worsening dementia. Finally sorted though. A combination of that and this bloody awful weather has been very unpleasant. Lots of walking has kept me sane.
