  1. 3 games in and I’m just tired of it already. Tired of looking so impotent. Tired of the same players meandering through games making the same mistakes. Tired of there being no accountability from any of them. Tired of individuals making thick as pig shit decisions when the opposition dare have a go and not give us the respect we (as in the players) think we deserve and absolutely exhausted with the white noise now coming out of Evatt. Some players and the kit might have changed but everything else is exactly the same. Boring

  3. Finally got to lay my dad to rest yesterday almost 6 weeks after he passed away.....It is a relief, feels like a weight has been lifted...many tales told ,many pints with rum chasers sunk, a good celebration of his life with the family.

  4. Evatt is really starting to piss me off He's had the backing and the time but we are stagnant.Has he took us as far as he can Imo yes

  5. They want it all on their terms all the time and when anyone either individually or collectively stands up to them they haven’t got a fucking clue on how to deal with it. I can only imagine in training when they’re trying to play out from the back the pace at which they’re being pressed. Because when it comes to Saturday and that pace is quicker they all look around shell shocked as if they’re thinking “well this isn’t how the gaffer showed us” they’re all thick as mince. Been said many times on here by many people over the last couple of years and it rings truer every single day, flat track bullies.

  6. He should have been sacked in the dressing room at Wembley. Weak all round, starting at the very top

  8. Sometimes a team, a manager, a philosophy, with all the best will in the world, just goes stale.

  9. The midfield wasn’t good enough last year. Since then he’s taken out the creator and replaced with nobody - what the fuck did he expect? Leopard and spots and all that, I just don’t have any patience left for him. In the place now that I’d be pretty happy if it was announced he’s gone tomorrow before we waste the season

  10. Was thinking more of a description. They know it’s a man and he’s out there walking the streets, a quick description of what he’s wearing, what colour he is and his height would be an aid to people out there looking for/avoiding him.

  11. There was a strong case for getting rid of IE last year due to the pathetic non performance at Wembley. We have since seen in comprehensive detail how the Oxford manager implemented his tactics to nullify our threat and beat us. Plus the systematic freezing against Wigan home/away and Blackpool away. We do seem to bottle games against our promotion rivals. The board has financially invested to support Evatt. This must be reciprocated with performances and results and swiftly. I belive at the beginning of the season, it would be his last chance for promotion. However despite the recruitment of better players, the early indications are frustratingly, that there is no plan B. And the unpleasant whiff of last seasons weaknesses are evident after just 3 games. Confusion reins regarding any successful formations. The board have been loyal to evatt but it is a business and they may want/expect better results than we've seen so far. Theirs and the patience of many supporters are already being tested?

  12. Aye. I also reckon we have enough in the defensive department to play 4 at the back. We certainly ought to.

  13. Same team, drop Charles, play 2 up top, and put another midfielder in to sure up the middle.. maybe even Victor for mcatee till he gets going. I've lost patience with Charles, the form that served us well has gone, ignore the penalties, the cup goals and he's not working in our current team.

  14. Exactly, and there are too many games in this league, especially at home, where we will still win, regardless. It makes us look like we go on good runs but like you say it tells us nothing. We’ll still lose the big games and when it matters and ultimately fall short. Look at that last 15 games breakdown - other than Barnsley away you could have pretty much picked every one of those that we didn’t win. Too predictable, flat track bullies.

  15. I suspect he will die on his sword - the fella is dogmatic if nothing else. When he switched it from 352 (too late BTW) I was thinking that we now have options depending on how the game was going. I thought he's a changed man. I thought he'd realised that he'd been worked out and it was all too easy for teams to nullify us long before Oxford. They sat on Sheehan, they dropped balls into the spaces behind our WBs and they forced us to punt it long to their defenders. I thought he's now got at least 2 tactical options if it ain't working. But he hasn't changed. He has an unswerving belief in his system - which is a good thing if it's a fluid system that wins matches, but it doesn't and he won't give up flogging that particular deceased equine. And the reason his system doesn't work is that it depends on quality players making quality passes under pressure, quickly and through the lines with loads of movement and options. That is his Holy Grail - to play like Pep with L1 standard players. And today was another demonstration of the problem. Just takes one pass to go astray in the wrong area and we're in the shit. Like every armchair manager I think I can offer a better system and selection to get the best out of this squad (see p13) but he won't change even if the game does.

  16. He needed a quick start after the damage of Oxford. Signings built a bit of positivity but it was papering over the general consensus that Evatt had lost all credit he ever had. He got lucky with Orient due to them having their version of Billy Crellin in net. The warning signs for this new formation but with the same old tactics were there, as always he’s doubled down rather than correcting and he’s already got plenty of fans on his back. I really do think that the way we lost that Oxford game will be his ultimate downfall. It won’t be forgotten and will be used as a stick to beat him with (rightly or wrongly) whenever things aren’t great. Not only does he have to go up this year to have any chance of getting the fans back, he needs to do it by getting us up there from the off, otherwise I really don’t think he’ll get the chance to get us up.

  17. Just on the way back to the hotel. Another £800,or so in the hole. I stayed behind to clap the players but not sure they deserved it. No one will convince me that we don't have a better squad available to us than Charlton do. The buck stops with the manager. I'm not Evatt out by any means yet but he's feckin close after that limp wristed 'performance'.

  19. For the days of 44 fucking 2 . Defenders who defend a couple of wingers and a centre forward who can play back to goal and hold a ball up . Probably to simple for all these coaches who think there Pepe

  20. Bingo balls subs at HT, same as Wrexham game subs in 2nd half. Woeful second half. He really ain’t got a clue. Don’t beat Exeter - get rid before the break.

  22. We are still so easy to play against, and slack shite passing at the back constantly hands the opposition the initiative. But worst of all for me is that we still have no one, not any single one of them pricks, who look like they give a shit!

  24. Don't want it to be a ddom and gloom job, and plenty of time, but I just can't get my head around the set up. 3 strikers and 5 at the back. Can't help thinking that 3 strikers requires 3 midfielders minimum, and 4 at the back. If we're going just 2, then it has to be 2 from Tomo, Metete and Dempsey. A system wasted on Sheehan, for whom its totally unfair. Already more signs of pig-headedness, as we've seen previously.

  27. With only 2 midfielders to give it to, then a striker has to drop in, or the ball played long, which makes it harder. Got to get things sorted quickly. Plenty of time in the season, but I get the feeling that patience is wearing thin. Great squad, but weird set up at the moment.

  29. Still blows my mind we went from relegation 87, then financial meltdown, selling half the ground to a supermarket to survive and back to the Premier league and the footings dug for a brand new stadium by 1995. Incredible turnaround in such a short space of time.

  38. Ah - Luke McCowan. Posting after a Friday night out doesn't help Hibs have already had three bids north of £750k rejected so it's pretty clear Dundee want around a mil for him. Good player but at that price? Maybe it's just me worrying about overspend after years of us shopping around in the bargain basement and the concerns about financial sustainability lurking around in some corner of my brain, but if we did manage to sign him of course I'd be pleased - but the pressure to get promoted would ramp up even further. And I think that barring too many injuries, we've already got a squad that could get us up when it finally gels providing Evatt gets the selection and tactics right. That's a big "if".
