Seriously, he’s reached his level. He’s been outthought by lots of other coaches from teams with a fraction of our budget. Can’t really add to that, it’s a bit basic, Sharon?8 likes

Going to die on his sword this fella. It’s very quickly turning against him and some of the players. he’s so wedded to this formation and entrenched in the view that it reaps its rewards it’s embarrassing. Not sure whether it’s stubbornness, pig headedness or just downright arrogance. But whichever it is it’s tedious. kicked south to north first half and 2/3’s of it was level to where I sit which is on the 18 yard line at the south end. What the actual fuck is it all about? Do they all think we win some morale award for having 70% possession in our own defensive third? Centre backs and goal keeper having the most number of touches? It’s honestly so boring it’s like going back to the Parkinson days where going to the game is becoming a chore. he’s spent a good few million now improving our attacking threat and it may as well of been given to a tramp outside the impact it’s having. We’re too busy letting the muppets we got for fuck all knock it between themselves acting like they’re better than they actually are and forgetting the one main job they’re here to do. Defend. Constantly goes on about the new lads getting up to speed. How “complexed” it is to play for us with the “rotations” and “patterns” well it’s much more fucking difficult to watch at the minute but it’s a piece of piss to actually play against.7 likes

The board now need to show some backbone that they failed to show in the summer and get rid of him. He’s been backed more than most managers and we haven’t played well once this season. He had to start this season like a train to make up for the shambles that ended last year but we haven’t. 12 wins in 36 for a promotion hunting team isn’t good enough. We thoroughly deserve what we got today. Nothing. There is no plan, no tactics and no desire to win. The ownership replicated the cowardliness that was shown on the field by leaving well before 80 mins as they didn’t want to hear the fans that stayed to the end to voice their opinions. The club is so devoid of leadership at the moment from the board, to the manager through to the captain. Some fans have turned IE into this so called messiah that we should feel lucky to have. We are a club that has a huge pull and replacing IE won’t be a problem. The average losses of teams promoted automatically over the last 5 years is 7. We are already on 2 after 4 games. Sack him now and save us from an abject season of mediocrity.6 likes

Damn right they fucking will. Take the rough with smooth unlike some cunts they have had the knives drawn long before now. I'll front it all day long. I've backed him, then been patient/hoping for change. Appears that change isn't happening any time soon. What I won't do is throw my toys out the pram and wave my cock about that I was right all along the next time we win a game.6 likes

It's weird, I don't feel like we're in total disarray like we did in the last days of say Freedman or Lennon. The players are there, we've got 4 forwards who between them should get 60+ goals. A defence that we know is solid. 2 solid keepers for this league. The pieces are there, it's just how they're used.5 likes

Can’t leave the Navy out. The Senior Service😉 Dad’s ship after being hit by a Kamikaze, he’s scurrying about there somewhere and docked at Circular Quay in Sydney after dropping off Aussie POW’s at the end of the war. He never travelled abroad again. My son has both photos framed on his wall in Sydney where he now lives. I always go down to the quay whenever I’m down there and remember him.5 likes

There are a few folk on here that I would put in the "behind IE" bracket, and you would have been a long way down that list 😀. I wouldn't like to see your in game comments for a manager you aren't behind!4 likes

I said I was genuinely interested in the arguments for keeping him because... I am genuinely interested. There's no ulterior motive or whatever else you're waffling on about here. If he left tomorrow I'd say his time here has been a success, so it's not like I've got a problem with the bloke. However, I can't see him or us ever getting over Oxford while he's still here. But I do want to hear opposing viewpoints if there are any.4 likes

I know we aren't finishing top 2, we all knew that realistically before a ball was kicked, and normally the play offs would be a poor substitute. But my target now is to be in the play offs with a different manager, with momentum, maybe coming from 10th place to 6th in the last couple of months and being the in form team like Oxford were, with an astute manager who can get the best out of his squad. Hopefully 2 full backs and 2 wingers at Wembley. I can dream, its what keeps us going.4 likes

For all the talk of systems, it isn’t the system giving the ball away with a 5 yard pass, shooting in to row Z or forever NOT BEATING THE FIRST FUCKING MAN AT A CORNER4 likes

There was a lot of talk, eventually, about the close season and the transfer window being a time for reflection, learning and resetting. I haven't seen any evidence so far that Evatt has understood and acknowledged the failing, never mind addressed them in the window and his pre season work. Another couple of million coughed up by the very patient owners and it's hard to spot any sort of upgrade or solution in any part of the pitch. To be trotting out the 'we look tired and fatigued' excuse tonight is truly laughable when we're not even out of August. If they are it's on him and his methods, and on his recruitment3 likes

Okay I'm just going to put your uncharacteristically argumentative responses down to the emotion we're probably all feeling at our club not doing as well as we'd like and leave it there But for what it's worth, I don't think the post you responded to was trying to get a rise out of you or anyone else, or a criticism of people who still back Evatt3 likes

2-0 down, 93rd minute, we get a goal kick and the keeper plays it short to Santos and it goes sideways twice before he decides to hoof it to no fucker at all..... Its like Evatt has created some kind of cult & brainwashed them all..... Absolute shit show & summed up by Cogley getting booked for giving it large to their centre half within minutes of shitting out of a challenge right in front of our bench.3 likes

You can’t defend him or that performance today, I don’t think anyone will @radcliffe white @woolli, so I don’t think we need a split in opinion, or anyone calling out. But the reality is, this improves in only 2 ways; by Evatt going or by, as @Marc505 alludes to, him very quickly finding solutions to to the problems we have, with the players he has bought. I’m still choosing option 2, because one, the alternative won’t happen immediately, it will be a slow and toxic exit and two, the players are there IMO, we just need to find ways to make them click and blend…very very quickly.3 likes

The pieces need to want to be used as well though. But yeah that was what I intimated after the game - the latter part of the Lennon years, pretty much the entire Parky era and Hill etc we were just a mess so you kind of give them a pass on that one. This is a settled set of players who aren’t kids or journeymen, with the biggest backing we’ve had in decades, and they just looked completely out of their depth.3 likes

Same. I’m no happy clapper but try to find positives when I can. But that was absolutely fucking dire. The players should take a lot of the blame for their inability to perform simple tasks but the buck stops with the manager. I like IE but sadly I think that this time is up. We’ve made absolutely no progress at all3 likes

They wont come on here tonight! And 50 per cent wanted him to stay after Oxford! Really dont understand why Sharron give him all that money to spunk away?3 likes

This is only going in one direction he's got to go.Next home game if he's still here the fans will turn when the 1st mistake is made, that is going to put players on edge.Get him potted he's had time and money to sort this out and failed miserably3 likes

Nlundlulu. Hope he does well at Cambridge. Only because it might facilitate a permanent move. One of the poorest players I've seen in a white shirt ever. Even worse than Franck Passi.3 likes

Sorry to bore you but the picture I put up was actually in Holland after the Normandy Campaign. After the war, a Sergeant in Dad's Troop settled in Bury and named his house after a small Dutch town very close to where the photograph was taken... the buses driven by other former tankies used to sound their horns when passing. From my correspondence with one of his descendants, he told his family he named the house as this was the place "where I nearly brought it" and would never tell them any more on the matter. I never understood why my Dad disliked Holland and the Dutch so much, when I asked my Mum she told me "something happened in the war and he has never told me about it". Whatever happened it was probably very nasty and it went to the grave with the survivors... I now think I have a time and place where this might have happened and a trip to the National Archives to look at the War Diaries is definitely on the cards. This is a photo from my dad's things (looks like the same queue of tanks) and it's probably the same Sergeant with his head stuck out of the top of the turret3 likes

If anything we might end up with a better chance of promotion if it starts this bad and Evatt is gone early. But I have to agree that I think Sharon doesn't have it in her. She's an ace owner but I'm not sure she'll get rid this early. The form since January has been way short. And Wembley showed just how incapable he is of handing the pressure. He's got to go asap for me. Then we're still in with a shout of something this season.2 likes

Sharon is too weak to sack him. We are fucked because spending a million on a Barnsley substitute was supposed to be a good idea. The two players who played well Tuesday were left out Fuck off Evatt2 likes

Have to say I’m beginning to agree, no way should this be happening with the players we have. Need for either Evatt to accept his system doesn’t work and change it or walk.2 likes

Baxter Toal. Santos Johnston Cogley Matete Thomason Tutu Collins Dempsey Charles Subs: Southwood Schon Adeboyejo McAtee Arfield Sheehan, Forino That’s the 11 I’d like to see, but could make a case and wouldn’t be disappointed to see Vic, Mcatee, Arfield, Sheehan or Forino start.2 likes

The fact that we are moving on from Iredale says a lot. We signed him one year after promotion from League 2. He's been a reasonable signing, done OK for us, far from a washout. But he wasn't quite the type of signing that was going to get us to the Championship. I actually think the same about Sheehan. Dare I say it, Santos and Gethin may be in this category too. It makes me think of the early to mid-1990s when we started moving on from players we'd valued - Reeves, Philliskirk, Cowdrill, Felgate, Storer. None of those players were in the side that Bruce got us promoted with. Darby had fallen to the fringes a bit. On the downside I think we look a bit thin again. It's probably only because Forrester, Lolos and CMG are all injured but I'm definitely a fan of us getting a free agent in to bolster things up a bit. One or two real prospects coming through the B team would be really handy at this point, especially with Freight Rover games on the horizon. Not sure we've got that up our sleeve though.2 likes

In bed! Quite surprised we’ve let Iredale go tbh as he always seemed a handy option to have around, but I guess that was before Johnston’s return and Forino signing. Generally pretty dependable all told, and he certainly chipped in with a few handy goals in the past. He’ll do ok I reckon.2 likes

Make no bones about it - this game is massive. we need to be winning games like this at home if we want to stay up which isn’t looking likely at the minute. raucous away following will only make it more difficult. I am not looking forward to it. take care mutley 192 likes
