  1. As has been mentioned above. Older ones like me remember the Phil Neal days. I loved Phil Neal. He got us out of a world of shit. Took us from the depths of despair to something more respectable. But hit his ceiling. Potted and the rest is history. i still look back on Phil Neal with admiration and part of it is because the club did the right thing at the right time. I hope to look back on IE in the same way

  2. Christmas. Evatt is still well in credit for me & i'm still hopeful that when the new players settle & injured ones are available, we'll turn it around. If it's no better at Xmas, then at least , a new manager will have the transfer window to make changes.

  3. Revenue management Nice one centurion, like it like it Wouldn't mind if was an extra £2 but we're talking £200 First come first served? Bollocks I got in way earlier than anyone I know and still couldn't get one It was a free for all It was the equivalent of queuing at a packed bar on NYE, everyone trying to get a drink, and then you getting charged 3 times more then the person in front of you because it's so busy

  4. Nah his time to sort it was all summer after Oxford, seen nothing so far this season to see he's learned from the issues since January. Had we been playing well and still coming up short then I'd give him til the October international break but it's been utter tripe.

  5. If you give him longer we may as well right the season off. He’s not gonna change. We haven’t played anyone decent really and we have struggled

  6. It's not the same though You know before hand prices are increased But you know you'll pay the same as everyone else trying to buy for that week They don't wait till You're checking out to tell you you're paying double the person who was in the queue before you Tickets were advertised at £150 There was zero suggestion it was dynamic pricing or first come first served That's why it's wrong And why its caused a shit storm https://www.theguardian.com/music/article/2024/sep/01/bands-urged-to-oppose-dynamic-pricing-of-concert-tickets-after-oasis-fiasco#Echobox=1725203781

  9. No, it's a cunts trick because they gave no indication they were going to do it £150 for standing was more than enough They always add their own fees on They don't do it at the football Or cinema Or theatre They don't even do it at most gigs I don't recall Peter Kay doing it It's not a common practice for gigs and shows

  10. First of all apologies for going off on one yesterday, beer and a shocking result taking its toll. I agree it was a poor look. The only thing I will add is that his reaction could have been any variation and still would have understandably been criticised; ranting, gesticulating, stood up not showing emotion, removing himself into the stands, anything really, there is no “good” reaction from a manager, unless what he does brings about goals/points.

  12. Are they encouraged to take a man on though or just pass to someone else then repeat again for them. There’s no individuality under Evatt and other than Dapo there never has been. The fact is Evatt doesn’t like individuals, especially those with a mind of their own which is why we have no leaders on the pitch and never will have under his management.

  13. Stay camp for at least 10 games, could win next 2 and be near our 2 point a game target, we have to be 1000% sure he’s the wrong man before we sack him given that the upheaval will most likely cost us any chance of promotion this season.

  14. For me the problem is Evatt has built a squad of passers - very good technical players but you need some who want to be direct and run at teams. Dapo - or the skills he offered has never been replaced. This makes us a bit predictable. If you consider Arsenal we are that but without Saka and Martinelli sort of thing.

  15. Aye, there's a reason no one has signed him and I think that's because he's a cunt But when he was not being a cunt and playing well he's still far and away the best LWB we've had under Evatt, and we've had quite a few And @Lancaster18 is right, we've never replaced it

  17. They’ve stopped playing for him. There’s no drive or enthusiasm when they’re on the pitch and they’re playing at 90%. Lesser teams are looking better than us and that’s down to the manager and his tactics/instructions. It’s easy to say that they’re weak mentally but I just think that they are fed up with him and his over complicated tactics.

  18. He's lost the dressing room... Once that happens the manager needs removing asap... Cmon Sharron, do your bit....

  20. It looks like he's the one who is tired and lethargic already. Really can't get my head round him sitting down for the last 20 minutes. That's pissed me off as much as the performance on the pitch.

  21. Why would you post that? Weirdo

  22. Watching Liverpool today. Fast pinged balls from defence to attack, running and driving at defenders, 3 on 3 every attack. We spend that long fucking about we are so high up the pitch but face a back 11 having to thread through the eye of a needle. We just don't do stuff quick enough.

  23. Be interesting to look back at this at Christmas if Evatt sorts it out. I feel like some fans have just got it in for Evatt now and nothing he does is going to make them back him. I'd definitely give him 5-10 more games to turn it around. Seems a bit daft to me to get rid of him after 4 games. I'd imagine everyone who is voting to get rid of him now were the same people saying he should go in the summer.

  24. Aye. Next time he drives 200+ miles to see the superwhites, be piss funny if the ticket office wanged the price up, as he'd taken hours to get here.

  25. 4. Centre back passes to Sheehan who is closed down and loses possession

  26. Yep. That has always been the way. Basic economics really. Ice cream is cheaper in winter than summer. Supply and demand. This is something completely different though. They advertise a price and then hike it up just when you’re ready to pay after hours of waiting. Its highlighted a problem that I’m sure will be corrected.

  27. The lads in my pictures were in the Rouen region 26/27 August pushing towards Le Havre and the next big battle. I read that one night outside Le Havre they largered down on a big field with a Panzer Division at the opposite end, it had been agreed the Germans would surrender at first light. In the dark an over enthusiastic sentry called out "Achtung, Who goes there"... the response from the other side of the field was a very tired Lancashire voice "Fuck off Fritz" with a following "Yah okay Tommy"... the rank and file troops are all the same when it boils down

  28. 12 wins in 36 suggests we’ve been sussed out. It does not seem difficult to suss how we play out. Frustrating as the fixtures have been kind and to be 6 points behind after 4 games with a 1 in 3 ratio suggests we may come a bit lower than mid table. Interesting that we have moved on 49 goals from last season. I’m not sure those who have come in replace it.

  30. Tbf I normally stand up for the full game but I was sat down with my head in my hands for the last 20 minutes, too 😂

  31. Four league games and we haven’t scored in three of them. Against Orient the keeper gifted us both goals. Without those howlers, it could easily have been 4 games without a goal. At the other end, only 1 clean sheet in 4. Something seriously wrong. It needs to change and plan A(2) or A(2)(b) doesn’t cut it. If the manager won’t change the system, we need to change the manager.

  33. GT felt sorry for him yesterday against Shrewsbury he was excellent alongside a player that can get stuck in when he’s next to weak as piss Sheehan he’s having to cover more because Sheehan cannot tackle and once under pressure he disappears which causes GT to give away fouls etc because of this

  34. They are HIS instructions. You play his way, or it's the highway. We've seen him rant at keepers who've kicked, or worse in his eyes thrown the ball. I firmly believe that when the players take charge we play better. The Barnsley play-off away was the players getting on with it. He had us back to shite in the 2nd leg.

  35. Total crap. only tutu and matete can take any credit from that. slow, lethargic and inept throughout. collins scores and we might have for something - but we didn’t deserve it. how can evatt say we are tired and lethargic after 4 league games ? I am raging

  36. Not giving him a free pass because he was as poor as the rest of them, but if you’re the only one trying to make those passes then it’s inevitable there’s going to be a higher percentage going astray. With two wing backs and three front men, it should be a doddle for the midfield to pick out passes to get in behind but they’re simply not making the runs.

  37. Wouldn’t be the first time under Evatt our (arguably) best player is nullified and becomes the victim of his obsession to set the team up in a particularly robotic way. part of his job is to get his best players on the pitch and make them as effective as possible. We all know what happened with Dapo, the only real 1 player we had who could create something out of nothing, beat a man and breakdown a defensive opposition. He failed there Now he’s doing it with Sheehan. Exposing him in a midfield 2, and ultimately leaving the job Sheehan is good at, collecting the ball and trying to dictate our play, to some gormless fucking idiot in the centre of our back 3 who isn’t a great footballer to start with. It’s absolutely idiotic But he would much rather plough on with this than acknowledge he’s been wrong

  39. The tiredness point is actually a case to change managers. Remember Mourihino being described as a 'mood magnet' when he was at best and up beat it lifts everyone around him, when it goes to shit he is awful. We have all worked with people who on a good day make work more enjoyable and others who make everything hard work. Not sure if is the same as 'lost the dressing room' but a manager is not getting the best from his players it means he ain't doing his job.

  42. I don't think he even understands the system he's having them play No one in that starting eleven today had the ability to drive/carry it forward No one It's no surprise we ended up trying to play it long so often And then he utterly failed to recognise and adapt to the tactical change his opposite number made, and not for the first time These are basic things a football manager should be picking up on

  44. Can’t leave the Navy out. The Senior Service😉 Dad’s ship after being hit by a Kamikaze, he’s scurrying about there somewhere and docked at Circular Quay in Sydney after dropping off Aussie POW’s at the end of the war. He never travelled abroad again. My son has both photos framed on his wall in Sydney where he now lives. I always go down to the quay whenever I’m down there and remember him.

  46. “Peddling things that people haven’t said” Really? Decide for yourself @only1swanny If it was cut short or taken out of context. Looks pretty clear cut what he’s saying here. Another pathetic comparison with football. I’d guess around 1 million fans have attended football this weekend including some very high profile games. Let’s compare the amount of stabbings, sexual assaults, injured/assaulted emergency workers and arrests and see how they measure up.

  47. Agree. The madcap neo nazis are not what I was referring to. More governments who could be described as nationalist but leave the 'socialist' bit where it belongs. In the shit can. Somewhere between the right and centre of the traditional conservative party. You can see it happening all over Europe. Eventually (and hopefully) go through the likes of the BBC and the teaching profession like a dose of salts and clear out the wokes and lefties. Caused far too much damage already.

  48. The pieces need to want to be used as well though. But yeah that was what I intimated after the game - the latter part of the Lennon years, pretty much the entire Parky era and Hill etc we were just a mess so you kind of give them a pass on that one. This is a settled set of players who aren’t kids or journeymen, with the biggest backing we’ve had in decades, and they just looked completely out of their depth.
