They'll be introducing fire regulations to stop small common electrical fires burning down entire tower blocks and kiling people next. These days...can't bloody have towering infernos without some left wing do-gooder kicking up a fuss. Snowflakes.5 likes

Good riddance. No doubt he knows his corporate bollocks, but he knows fuck all about real football fans, nor does he care. He’s everything that’s wrong about modern football.5 likes

Someone hasn’t seen the Grenfell report. Reading more than a Daily Mail headline is clearly beyond his attention span these days. Instead of queueing outside the local post office waving his zimmer frame at passers by, he may want to check why that accidental tumble dryer fire led to an ENTIRE tower block going up in flames. Why cladding that the manufacturers knew was flammable was still installed because they lied to every cunt and said it wasn’t. But the building had brown people in, so ho-hum4 likes

They’ve been telling us for years how they’re a massive club, but don’t like it now the club believe it.2 likes

There are hundreds of buildings around the country covered with flammable cladding because of what these cunts did. It’s not negligence, or incompetence we’re talking about here - it’s knowingly and intentionally selling a product you know is lethal. Corporate manslaughter is the very least they deserve charging with. It should be worse.2 likes

I’ve just posted this in one of the other topics. The episode speaks about how teams try to copy Pep’s teams but don’t have the same quality. Keane nails it.1 like

IE wants to ape Pep but fundamentally misunderstands that just copying one or two tactics, the formation and playing a short passing attacking football isn't enough. He acts like he's got given the cheat sheets to football. That by rigidly sticking to a way of play, he'll automatically win, this is enforced by the obsession with possession. The actual structure of the team is wrong, this is why the ball gets rolled out to Santos and then he stands on it for 30 seconds. Not only does the person IE wants to ape, Pep switch things up tactically, he changes formations and even play styles semi regularly. IE misunderstands that this is League One not the Premier League, not only are the players inferior, not as fast, good at passing etc, they play differently.1 like

Tremendous bit of knowledge 👏 Had no idea either. God, Gary Brabin, that a name I've not hear since school in the 90s. Blackpool cult hero.1 like

I've only just learned that Total Network Solutions changed their name to The New Saints. I kept wondering who New Saints were and always thought references to TNS was the original version of it. Been that way since 2006 apparently, since Total Network Solutions were taken over by BT! And their sporting director Gary Brabin is also Mickey Mellon's assistant manager at Oldham. No charge for this info.1 like

I spent 7 years working with the neonatal and paediatric ICUs around the North of England and Scotland. There’s quite a difference between the two. Or at least there was in the 2000s. Neonatal ICUs are heartbreaking places. These tend to be very premature babies that are clinging on by a thread or new borns with a serious problem. Youngest ended up at St Mary’s after an op the day she was born. That place was grimmer than anything I’ve ever seen. She came through. Most on that unit didn't Paediatric ICUs are (or maybe were) a bit better. Still bad when looking at newborns but it’s ones like my eldest who decided to swallow her own shit (meconium) whilst being born that end up there. Most seemed to survive but needed intensive care If Letby was in a NICU then mortality rates would be high and 25 a year wouldn’t surprise me at all. A PICU would be surprising imo as it would also include “older” children who’s mortality is a lot lower Not sure if the unit she was on was NICU or PICU? I’ll defer to @kent_white for correction if I’m talking shite1 like

The test they quoted was devised by and named after 2 doctors, one of those has suggested (again without seeing all the evidence) that the conclusions being drawn might not be correct. The expert who produced the original report said the conclusions were not based solely on that test. (The other doctor who devised the test is now dead) Worth noting that there have already been 2 trials, in the first some of the cases were not proven and the prosecution asked for a retrial and then she was found guilty on the outstanding cases. The other element that can not really be bought into the discussion of a re trial is the natural human emotion that with all these deaths it gives the parents more closure and is easier for everyone if there is a 'monster' rather than that is being left open as something that just happened.1 like

So Lucy Letby has been jailed for injecting babies with insulin and/or water causing deaths. A company has made up test results that have contributed to deaths, along with a series of other companies cutting corners which combined caused multiple deaths And someone is saying that it was all just an accident we should move on ?1 like

Jesus wept. Grenfell was a catalogue of deliberately dishonest practice, failures and cover ups that cost 72 lives. I would advise that you read the inquiry summary before posting utter shite.1 like

Doesn't need to be an agenda does there. Players making tiny mistakes that prove costly. Evatt himself has said the defending needs looking at, and such errors, whoever makes them need ironing out. Johnston needed to be quicker to push out, a brief lapse in concentration maybe. Similarly Santos not aware of position of his defensive partner- another's lapse in concentration. Not easy things to get bang on, but that's what good defences need to push towards. I vaguely remember a piece about Tony Adams, and his organising of the defense, shouting etc, and lots of work on the training ground. Like a well-oiled machine they were.1 like

I suppose most clubs in the Prem would love to have the talent and depth that Man U have. But being better than most clubs isn't the target. The depth is decent, we'll always be able to field a competitive L1 team even if we have a load of injuries, but IMO the players and tactics (eg defending set pieces) are short of the quality needed compared to the clubs that will win stuff. We've got plenty good players and strength in depth but we continue to have iffy wingbacks, poor set piece delivery, lack of players that can shoot or cross well, lack of physicality especially up front and at full back. We'll win plenty games and finish top half but clearly something missing if we want top 6 and more IMO.1 like

It's always felt a bit fishy this case. Part of me wondered whether she was being thrown under the bus to hide systematic failings. The way the medics testified that they didn't say anything because they were worried hospital management would just brush it under the carpet stank too. They should have been advocating for their patients or alerting the police. Imagine being a Consultant admitting that you suspected a nurse was killing babies but didn't raise it! 😬1 like
