I've backed him throughout, but I've just had enough. I might have held out a bit longer had he been remotely likeable, but he's stubborn and arrogant and I'm sick of the "Woe is me" victim approach to defeats. It's just never his fault.6 likes

I don't want some clever cunt manager trying to re-invent the game. The basics gets you out of this division.5 likes

I think both 'want' to believe, and still do. It was right, in my opinion, to let him have another go at it this season, as long as he felt he had the drive to do it. He may still believe he has, and (one of) the board may still believe him. I am still, JUST, in the camp that wants to give him more time. But i think the next 2 games will be pivotal. Not just in terms of results, but formation / team selection / performance / etc.4 likes

The public need to be exposed to more footage like this. It makes it seem real again. The horrible thing is that I just feel like I've become desensitised to it when I hear another story and slaughtered kids.2 likes

Agreed. Which means he's learnt absolutely nothing and he remains the stubborn bastard he always has been.2 likes

A good local bonfire, with associated grub is spot on. Fireworks are a different matter for me- owing to the number of cunts and a prolonged period, I'd prefer no fireworks to be sold to the public. Make them all properly organised, professionally created displays. Far better too.2 likes

After his showing on Tuesday night, Evatt should be instantly dismissed if he starts Arfield on Saturday,2 likes

Having thought about it (too much time on my hands today), the most frustrating part of all is that the league isn't anywhere near as strong as I thought it was going to be. Birmingham will walk it, not just because of the money they've spent but also because of how decidedly average the league is. We're just 7pts shy of the automatic promotion places with a game in hand and seriously any of those thirteen teams there could finish 2nd or 14th depending on how they apply themselves. There's nothing wrong with the squad we have, we just need someone to get the best out of them.2 likes

I agree. To be honest if we lose Saturday and the manner of that defeat is reflective of all these inconsistencies we’ve seen this season, then 1 defeat may be enough. The issue for me now, is that I was previously (last season I’m talking about) content to pass off defeats and his explanations as valid reasons which I understood. This season it’s far more difficult to accept on the basis that we’ve lost our identity, we seem (for the first time in my eyes) to be going backwards and this Plan B (2.1 or whatever the fuck he wants to call it next) seems totally ineffective.2 likes

The problem is unfixable. The problem is that players at this level can't play the football he wants to play and he refuses to change. League one is simple: - Hard man in the middle with a creative ball player next to him - Pacy wingers - Reliable finisher Against good teams you look to counter and against rubbish ones you press. These allow you to grind out positive results against teams as good as you or better. We can't do that right now and while IE is the manager sure we might batter a Cambridge occasionally, we'll never reliably be able to pick up points and thus promotion is basically impossible, bar just plain luck.2 likes

The guy has no idea that what he's doing is wrong, he thinks he has a winning formular and if you don't get behind it whole hog, you're an idiot. He has a terminal case of main player syndrome and i think he thinks Bolton is just a stepping stone. He should have gone and retained some goodwill and fond memories after Huddersfield, but he chose to hang on and our current leadership team seem almost too cowardly to do anything about it.2 likes

He won't be going anywhere soon. Doubt the board was thinking we'd be getting a win at Brum away. He should have been fucked off after Wembley. It'll take a herculean effort for us not to be able to stumble into the playoffs with the players we have at our disposal. It's just a case of amassing enough points when we're allowed to flat track bully teams. There's fuck all chance I'd be pinning my hopes on us winning the big games or derbies as our players are proven fannies.2 likes

If we lose badly against Peterborough, Sharon will reward him a new three year deal, a third assistant manager, three more attackers costing a million each in Jan, extra shares in the club & another 100K loan to help him out.1 like

He's avoided the Commonwealth Summit as they are banging on about Colonialism committed over 100 years ago... modern day Colonialism is much more interesting and maybe has more "sidelines" The UN is becoming defunct, as I suggested the world is now breaking down into several groups of united nations. FIFA is probably the last "respected" international body and we all know how corrupt they are1 like

I'm still, just about, Evatt in but find myself nodding in agreement with much of what the Evatt outers have to say. In answer to your question; He's finished each season higher than the previous one. He deserves some patience and support during the most difficult period of his tenure. Like all of us, he's still learning. What he's experienced with us in the past and what he's experiencing now, will make him a better manager. Shouldn't we stick with him and be the recipients? I'm terrified who we might get as replacement and them being a latter day Coyle, Freedman etc1 like

I doubt that even the offer of bed, breakfast and a reacharound chez @Sweep could entice me down for this one.1 like

We have, if it's Maghoma you're referring to, and it's a big unfilled hole. Easy to say that if we potted Evatt another manager could get this squad up, I'm far from convinced. It's a weaker squad than last year in my view. Best I can see for us on Sat, especially without Dempsey and Thomason, is a high scoring draw in a basketball game. More likely, I fear, is we get dicked 4-21 like

It’s a good observation to make pal. 👍 It’s one of the reasons I’m remaining positive about the season at this juncture. If one of these things happen then the season can still bring reward 1/ The most unlikely for me now, but I’ll take it, Evatt galvanises us, gets us though this tricky spell with some good wins and a foundation is in place to move into promotion contention. But let’s be honest this is becoming increasingly more unlikely, hopeful and fanciful 2/ The moment we falter from the above, a change is made while there’s enough time and points on the board for a new regime to give it a go. The worst scenario is limping along in a status-quo of inconsistency, apathy and excuses.1 like

Probably mate! Ernie was into me for everything! Struggling to remember the name of his missus? They were from Blackpool originally if my memory serves. You might remember his South African friends who visited? The chef bloke catered for the reception. Our bouncer was Seeburt! Great bloke. Some right characters amongst the downstairs regulars. Shah, Alex the Canadian antique dealer, Owd Frank, Tony F, Rob K, Alfie K, Simon the pool wizard etc. You will probably remember a few or all of these. Should probably take this PM as the other poor fuckers on here will likely be bored shitless.1 like

We don’t trott this out though when we lose at home to Exeter. We have spent a decent amount at this level. Can’t have it both ways. Birmingham are better and as @Greg_BWFCsays losing is fine. They didn’t get out of 2nd gear last night and we’d lost within 3 minutes, which is the tough bit to swallow1 like

No wonder cops are handing their guns back in and choosing to be simply unarmed officers - that's if they don't leave the force altogether. The tail wagging the dog yet again. These particular gangs are looking for a two tier policing situation where they can get away with far more than anyone else using the morbid fear of authorities being labelled with the 'r' word yet again. Shades of Rotherham, Rochdale and countless others where it seems that it no longer should be justice for all but a different kind of justice for different skin colours where evil whiteys are bottom of the league in terms of any kind of 'benefit'. I'd be surprised if many of these activists from the older end weren't out on the street marching against apartheid. Now it seems they want a different form of it - one which would favour them.1 like

Exactly. Said it a million times, despite our obvious failings, we were inches away from promotion last season. We scored about 3 million goals and barely conceded. Stick to that plan with a higher tempo and early balls and some proper ingame management and we wouldn't be far off. All the fuck ups this season have been self inflicted from trying to reinvent the wheel.1 like

I don’t think anyone is panicking. Think it’s more the realisation the team is going backwards, the manager and his system is a busted flush and there doesn’t seem to be any improvement that can be made…1 like
