We deserved that. Was dreading the subs today, but Charles and Williams played well and Lolos popped up when it mattered most. Evatt: "Pete, it's time to bring Arfield on" Atherton: "Boss ... boss ... you're breaking up ... can't hear you"15 likes

I'll duck in advance of the pelters but Vic did a job today, his limitations were obvious but he grafted away and occupied the CBs in a way that allowed Collins and McAtee to flit around him and do good things, Collins in particular. It was easy for Charles to catch the eye then, later in the game, when they were wilting and didn't fancy him charging at them. Righto, I'm ready 🤣7 likes

Took my cousin today who's home from Australia, brought his gf who's never watched a Bolton game but ordered to support them for years. And they get a 98th minute winner, absolute scenes. Anyway, at Rivington brewery now, a top day. It doesn't always have to be shit watching us 😀7 likes

Best performance since 5-0 v Oxford IMO, I enjoyed it from start to finish, and if it had finished 0-0 I'd have said the same and still clapped them off. Some of the in-game comments on here can't have been from watching the same game. Matete certainly an upgrade on Tomo in terms of calm authority, physicality and ability to both keep possession, drive forward and win the ball rather than concede free kicks. Collins great quality, god knows how we choose to start games without him so often, especially when its Vic in his place (least said about his performance the better). And Charles looked more lively today than for a long time, a real handful. Santos absolute rolls royce, thank god Southwood saved him from scoring the winner at the wrong end, that would have been so unjust. Closely followed by a non stop all action performance from Johnston, he earned the pen not just with the foul but with that wicked cross that earned the corner that led to the pen. Overall feeling though was the passing moves and intensity was a joy to watch, OK it doesn't always end in a shot on goal but I appreciated just watching the speed, skill and movement shown for much of the game.6 likes

Said prior to game I was still just about behind Evatt. Trying to view the season as having started from after Huddersfield game (for my own sanity) So, 16 points from 7, albeit today was the biggest test (Birmingham aside) Was focussed today on selection and performance over result. At 0-0 I felt happy with the performance. Players who clearly still care, and almost all of whom put in good performances. We still need to be more clinical but we’ve beaten a decent side comfortably today (on performance rather than scoreline) Still unsure on team selections. Squad is too heavy with attacking players and we’re clearly short in midfield. This is leaving Evatt a bit stuck when it comes to selection. I expect some rebalancing come January. Just hope today isn’t a false dawn. Another strong show on Tuesday and we can start to have a little faith again. Final thoughts - I’m struggling with McAtee. Whilst Collins eventually joined the party today, McAtee looks off it. Clearly some ability there but little end product. Santos at his imperious best today. When he’s like that, there’s not a better defender in this division Southwood a good keeper. Pretty sure he’s been promised number 1 spot if and when Baxter goes (possibly January with contract running down). Looks very capable. Anyway, today's a good day. Stay on the gantry Ian.5 likes

some miserable bastards on here when the match is being played. Good performance, their keeper had the game of his life and we got what we deserved (eventually)5 likes

Can’t whack a 99th minute winner. Especially when it’s the first goal scored in professional football via a ruck & maul since 1863. Fully deserved too after a really positive second half.5 likes

Best by a mile that I've seen is play this season, relentless for the whole 90 and the best atmosphere as well. The support from the fans to suck the ball into the goal was phenomenal. I wasn't expecting us to batter Peterborough that much, they just beat Blackpool 5-1 and have a very talented team. Their keeper's gloves were a magnet to the ball, unbelievable performance and I'm sure will go on to do great things. Need to follow this up though on Tuesday now4 likes

Deffo. But it's the same problem as weeks ago. You can't lose a midfielder by playing 5 at the back then also lose one by playing 3 up front. It's a total imbalance4 likes

When you have a proven match winner like Dapo at your disposable you make it work. And if you're replacing them with the likes of Dan shocking decisions are being made.4 likes

He's quality, as you say he makes things look easy, like in the 2nd half when he had the ball on the edge of our box after a dangerous Posh attack, anyone else would have booted it clear, he beat his man as if he wasn't there knowing he's strong enough to hold him off, and laid the ball off easily. Never uncomfortable in possession even if there's 3 opponents around him, the strongest midfielder physically we've had for years.3 likes

Howard Webb was quite a good listen on that Stick to Football podcast about keepers lying down on the ball And that thing about corners you mention. Really fucks me off. Just fuck off. Just put the fucking ball where it needs to be and deliver a decent corner rather than concentrating on how fucking clever you are at gaining a fucking centimetre and then not even getting it past the man on the near post3 likes

Hope Ferguson enjoyed it. Couldn’t think of a better way to win. Good performance and it felt like we were all one.3 likes

Nothing beats a late winner! Santos was head and shoulders above anyone on that pitch, don’t think he lost a battle or a tackle the entire game.3 likes

We played class, especially second half. Could’ve been about 4-1 that game! Great to see a last minute winner though. No less than we deserved.3 likes

Not having that, their keeper made a few decent saves. One from Johnston first half, one from Charles second half and the one from Collins late on.3 likes

Our performance is nearly always defined on scoring in the first 15-20. We seem to run out of ideas if we don’t.3 likes

The point is: he was available for virtually every game, contrary to the perception that he was always injured. The fact that Evatt chose to put him on the bench, thereby limiting his minutes, is irrelevant to this point.3 likes

It was also pleasantly entertaining to watch Toal and Rico put on the afterburners in 1v1s against their very pacey wide players. I think Toal might be the fastest player at the club good god he's quick. As for Rico, my man of the match without a doubt, he's was a mountain today and allowed us to keep the highest scorers in the league to nil. The defending this year has been surprisingly poor, especially how much I rate a back 3 of Rico, Toal & Johnno. So im now hoping that they can kick on and the clean sheets start flying in.2 likes

Interestingly, they were a bit bi-polar with it. First half they were playing as fast as us for the most part (probably because they fancied their chances), but then between about 58-68 mins there was no more than 2 mins of football played, they just decided to use every trick in the book to try and kill any momentum. That trick of making the keeper lie down and then the physio comes on and pretends his knee is bollocksed, only to then have a drink, get up slowly and then boot the ball down the pitch as far as he can, is a joke. There’s nothing you can do about it but it’s just so fucking obvious. They may as well just tell the ref they want a few minutes for a break because everyone in the stadium, including the ref, knows that there’s absolutely nothing wrong. As you say though, bit them on the arse, which is great.2 likes

The ref does the right thing on timewasting without Evatt standing on the touchline shouting at him. Do you think that he is smart enough to learn?2 likes

Deserved win. Several great performances, Santos, GJ, Matete and Schon all deserve a mention. We need to be quicker in the turnovers and be a bit braver in the final 3rd but nothing we didn't already know. Happy Wanderer here and off to get muntered now.2 likes

100% deserved. We'd done everything but score. Still don't know how it ended up in the net! Santos was faultless.2 likes

That would have been a cruel draw so well played and what drama at the end, hopefully a catalyst, it's got to be...2 likes

He's going to score a last minute winner against us and lift up his shirt to reveal a t-shirt with a message on it that says "Fuck you Gonzo".2 likes

Scored 14 in 78 games across his career in League 1. He scores 1 in 5 across all competitions in his career https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jon-dadi-bodvarsson/leistungsdaten/spieler/114090 He runs like he is wearing jeans. Seems a decent honest bloke but we simply do not need more forwards.2 likes

Yet two and a half seasons later his philosophy has got us nowhere and another load of new players are in the same boat as Dapo. Maybe his philosophy is a crock of shit2 likes

The point you make about fitness is fair and will likely ultimately likely mean he doesn’t play too much. Your second point you make though, Traf - come on, did you not see Palmer’s performance against us earlier this season? Definition of conference level cart horse, if Bod is actually fit then Palmer isn’t even close to him (can’t comment on Mullin).1 like

The way I view our defence is we could go to four centre backs and there’d still be unmarked attackers!1 like
