  1. I admire all of those of you who have progressed to the stage of being able to analyse squad depth and DNA. I'm still at the stage of being stunned and disgusted by a scoreline of Stockport 5 Bolton 0 - heaped on other recent similar embarrassments. A line has to be drawn now. If we want to talk about DNA, this type of abysmal and cowardly surrender is not the DNA of Bolton Wanderers. As our flimsy ship was being capsized once more by neighbours yesterday, we picked up not one single booking. That speaks volumes to me. They couldn't give a shit and don't deserve the hugely impressive support they are getting from the people of the town. Stockport, Wigan, Blackpool and the like do give a shit. We are marked in red on their fixture list from the day they're published in June. That's why they "do" us every time. Attitude. Blackpool are in poor form just now but they'll battle like hell when they come up against us in a fortnight. A line has to be drawn.

  2. I've gone in depth elsewhere on why he has to go. But to be honest for me personally, I want him gone for arguably my own biggest reason... I'm just bored of it. We got battered by frigging Stockport Country today and you know what it did frustrate me, but I just laughed, turned it off and forgot about it, didn't even shock me I've seen this before with Evatt in charge these past 4 years. I'm just sick of hearing his same voice, instantly looking to blame anybody and anything but himself, I'm just tired of it. We need change, the players need a new voice in that changing room, it's just so evident. Another meaningless tinpot cup game and nternational break now again after a bad defeat, followed by some "reset and refocus". We then might actually win a few games against some turgid teams. But then we'll get found out against a half decent team or anyone within a 30 mile radius. I'm just bored of it. I said it in the match thread and I'll say it again. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" We've played the same souless rigid style for years now. Teams have evolved and progressed and know how to play against us. Where Evatt has kept the exact same style and not shown any progression on any front. Since Stockport last battered us 3 years ago we are no better than we are right now in League 1, despite all the time and money we have given Evatt. Our record against local/good sides is abysmal. It hasn't changed and why should it? I'm bored and frustrated. I'm worried that Evatt has found himself the most secure job in football with his cushy relationship with Sharon and knows he will never find himself a better job to walk away from. And Sharon is too weak to get him sacked.

  3. You really are a condescending twat. I should have known not to get drawn in. I've been on here long enough for you and anyone else to know that I'm a million miles from entitled or arrogant about our club. I've seen us play in all four divisions at least twice, ridden all the ups and downs, the good spells and the bad, seen us be nearly out of existence twice, not once. The aspirations and ambitions have been clearly articulated by the club, especially the manager, and well supported by the owners. We are not at the stage where we're just establishing ourselves and finding out feet in the division, where a few bad days at the office would be understandable. It's a reasonable expectation therefore that we should, by now, have ironed out the propensity for no-shows like yesterday three or four times a season.

  4. It’s time. We know it’s time. We’ve been here before and it’s just a question of how long do we drag it out. Leave it too long and we’re basically writing this season off. Bite the bullet and we have a sniff.

  5. Think this is just about the most balanced and rational thing I’ve ever seen posted on BWFC twitter and it’s hard to argue with any word of it..

  6. We all know the types of games we struggle in Local derbies, teams at the top going for promotion, big followings This season so far those are Wrexham, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Stockport 1 point, 0 goals, 11 conceded

  7. Seems to be a real struggle for some on here that wanting him gone doesn’t necessarily mean screaming for his head or producing banners. Also the thought that people are fed up because of a bad result. Trying to shoe horn fan blame in is weird. I’ve never known numbers like this for being outside the prem, let alone division 3

  8. Not many have spent c£3m on their forward line.

  9. We’ve unfortunately got rid of any wingers in the squad as well as anyone who can win a header up front. Which then has us playing those shitty yard passes around our goal as if we punt it up it just comes straight back. Vic should have of been out the door as soon as an offer with money came in and the moment spent on a target man who lets us get up the pitch when teams press high.

  10. I don't think anyone is basing their opinion of Evatt solely on today's result

  11. 2 promotions, a penalty away from the Premier League, a toe nail clipping away from an FA Cup final, improving them year on year...... Actually beating more than cannon fodder occasionally.

  12. Up until this point, I think it was reasonable to back Sharon’s judgement, showing faith and support in a manager, when so many other Chairmen are trigger happy and lack loyalty, especially when her latest vote of confidence resulted in a good run of form. But I think that time has now passed after that today. It confirms there’s a deficit in his management which seems insurmountable. A decision to change manager over the international window, allows a new manager to get a tune out of this lot before the new year transfer window. And we are still in touch of promotion. I worry any longer will be detrimental.

  13. I’m struggling to see the connection with Russian sanctions. However, all your point proves is that anyone can make it to the top in this country with hard work and the right attitude. Well done our fellow northerner, Angela 👊👊

  14. I think the stand out difference from last season's squad is the reduced height/strength/heading ability, accepting the improvements like Schon, Matete and McAtee (although he becomes a weakness when IE decides he's a midfielder, IMO). We've lost JDB and Jerome up front - say what you want about them not scoring enough but that's 2 players that could hold a ball up that we now don't possess (and neither of them ever played as bad as the front 2 yesterday). We've lost Maghoma, Iredale, Ashworth, Ogbeta. Not saying any of the full backs were the greatest players but they were definitely stronger than Schon & Williams. We were too weak last season - and somehow IE has managed to make us even weaker. The forward line is just flimsy, it doesn't matter who's turn it is to be picked that ball isn't sticking.

  15. After the Peterborough game I am sure evatt as convinced himself he was right all along which the 2 man midfield after being forced to drop it shortly after the Huddersfield debacle . Just shows he as learnt nothing that it does not work against most in this division

  17. I think most of us just want to see us at least have a go in the big/local games, rather than meekly rolling over to have our tummies tickled. No one likes losing, but the actual performances have been unacceptable. And thats not arrogance, its the minimum any fan expects, from any club. Other fans only mock those who find the situation acceptable.

  19. Considering the size of our budget relative to the rest of the league this season and last, and especially the fact we've had seven transfer windows to build a capable squad, promotion is a perfectly reasonable aspiration

  23. I know what you meant. My point is that with all the data available, the coaching staff should have known some of them weren't up to it, and therefore likely to underperform. At that point, play the youngsters anyway. At least fans will understand and appreciate their efforts. If he felt they were up to it, then all the more fool him for failing to prepare them and/or play a team capable of competing. To say nothing in the lead up makes it seem like excuses after the event. Or even bullshit.

  25. You can add 2 losses to Tranmere to that as well. 3-0 at home being one of them (which I’d managed to blank from my memory!) In fact, if you exclude the football league trophy and just look at those where there is a genuine rivalry that the players would feel it - Wigan, Blackpool, Stockport, Tranmere W1, D1, L9 Then there’s those that have a bit on it but not in the same category - Oldham, Carlisle, Accrington W4, D0, L4 Then there’s Fleetwood which although geographically in a similar place to a few, there’s absolutely no needle whatsoever W5, D0, L1 I’d love to have gone up last season and get to play Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, and then the likes of Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd, Stoke etc., but actually we’d likely have just been turned over by each of them and had a shite time because we can’t deal with a big occasion.

  26. We are not set up right. Consequently we are trying to play in the wrong area and half decent L1 teams with a good press can exploit it. Time after time after fkin time!

  27. Generally, yes. What concerns me is that fact that if some of these lads were way off because of illness, then they simply shouldn't have played. It may have an adverse effect on them, and their recovery. Potentially making things worse in the short term. I'm not sure a few b team players would have seen a worse overall event, and even if not good enough, they would have been fit and tried. It hasn't gone unnoticed that on the occasions that a youngster or two is on the bench, that they don't come on. Begs the question, what's the point of it?

  28. Not only do we have a squad, we have an entirely separate B team squad, bought, designed and ran to fill in the gaps and to provide a pipeline for young players into the main squad. IE just refuses to use it even when the main squad are according to him on IV bags before the game.

  29. Love us to be going into the Blackpool game with a new man in the dugout. A bit of intrigue and nervous excitement on the way up to the game. Bit of a buzz because things feel fresh. Instead of the familiar daft hope that we might nick a win but deep down knowing that even if we do it won't be the start of anything meaningful. I put a post on here a few weeks ago basically saying that my interest in BWFC has never been so up and down. It's never even occurred to me to analyse it in that way before. Since Wembley though it's all been fucked for me. Might sound dramatic like but I'm just being honest. I allowed myself to get a bit carried away after the Peterborough (more the performance really) and Stevenage results but I should have known better. I said on here and to my mates after Wembley that I don't know how we go again with this manager and squad and nothing I've seen so far has changed my mind. Say thanks to Evatt and shake his hand and give ourselves a chance this season before it's too late. If you've bothered to read this far - this is the longest post I think I've ever submitted on here. I can't be arsed with the massively long ones for what it's worth.

  30. As bad as that was and as much as I’ve now had of Evatt. You can fuck off. Thats 5 posts on 1 page, a record for you. Come on admit it, you’re fucking loving this aren’t you? When did you last watch Bolton away? Ever? Or do you just sit behind your laptop wanking away after defeats?

  31. Getting rid of those three is not the answer, yes they are not good enough and should be on the bench at best, but it is the manager and the way he sets up his team that is at fault. We by all accounts got over run by Walsall last week and he then repeats his tactics. Yesterday before we conceded the first goal anyone could see how the game was going.........Baxter made three good saves before they went one up yet he carries on oblivious to how the game would end up...........He is inept

  32. The B team has no use whatsoever apart from the odd occasion one of the first team squad comes back from injury and gets mins in a B team game. We have been down to our bare bones the last few weeks and two got promoted into the first team, but in reality Evatt was never going to put them on....Rather put round pegs in square holes than play someone who plays for the B team

  33. Very little training? What training do they need they should know their jobs by now and if you or Evatt expect people to believe the whole squad suffered from illness then you’re more soft than he is. Even if 3 or 4 were poorly through the week and not up to it, leave them out and sit a few of the B Team like Inwood or Sharples-Ahmed on the bench. It’s total bollocks and just more excuses but however much he tries there are no excuses for the gutless, inept performance we saw yesterday.

  35. Watched Stockport midweek taken apart by Wycombe who to be fair were the best team I have seen this season in this league Was a bit apprehensive about a positive reaction from them after the home stuffing . So it was one of those games where we needed to get on the front foot early in terms of their morale after being hammered . Very opposite approach cautious back peddling, under pressure from long balls & failure to get out of our own half with shitty two yard passing & no forward outlet. All predictable really & that’s the problem , reluctantly I think Evatt is now a busted flush . How any potential successor can succeed with these players I’m not sure but fresh thinking / tactics are required asap.

  38. On the other hand, that was far from Stockport's first choice XI. As my County mate told me with barely concealed glee, the massive cunt. I don't think we can blame injury or illness for such a collapse - isn't that the point of having a squad? Especially with a whole week off vs an opponent who have just been slapped on the same pitch 4 days before, (against a side led by a CM deemed surplus to our own squad)...

  42. I was still in the Evatt in camp until 4.15 this afternoon. I like the guy, his sides have played some amazing football at times, crowds have been incredible, Wembley v Plymouth was one of the best days of my life. On the flip side the arguments against him staying were stacking up. I thought he was one or two more bad results away from the crowd turning. A 1-0 loss to a good Stockport side wouldn't have counted. A 0-5 capitulation definitely does. Dunno if that means I've wet my pants or am screeching in the eyes of some. I don't care tbh, I'm miserable enough this evening. As I say, I like the guy. I just hope he walks or gets sacked now, before it gets really vicious.

  43. All the post match comms as muddled and messy as the match itself. If there was the sickness / stomach flu / shits going round (there has been a lot of it about the area in fairness) why not put it out there in the week and give it the line 'we're struggling but we'll put a side out to do it's best'? A 0-5 would still have been unacceptable but a narrower defeat might have been tolerated.
