Certainly some stuff he’ll need to explain BUT, he knows league one inside out, he’s been successful at this level, and I would imagine will be able to demonstrate a real hunger and desire to right some wrongs. He’ll be sought after at this level for sure. I have reservations about the fella and it didn’t end well, but in 4 years he got us promoted, took us to Wembley twice, scored 100 goals in a calendar year and gave us all some pretty enjoyable moments.4 likes

As both red cards are against our promotion rivals and will lead to three match bans they are totally justified.3 likes

Is it balls a free hit We should be not going into any home game expecting to be beaten A win world be great and a draw would be a good result They have injuries But we're both in good form, it's not like they smash teams off the park on a regular basis like we did in 96/97 Free hit bollocks3 likes

My lad went last year when he wasn’t in a good place , it’s changed him so much he now helps run the one at the arena on a Monday night.2 likes

Don't think he'll have any problem getting another job, expecting top end league one maybe lower championship and I hope he does ok, brought back some joy watching us before it turned sour.2 likes

Strangely Dr. football seems to be an industry that overlooks what’s disturbing to most people and I don’t think all these things will put off suitors for Evatt. They won’t ignore the fact that he took us from being on the brink to Wembley a couple of times, two promotions, one under embargo here and successive play off places. In fairness to an outsider that would all look pretty good so I think there will be good opportunities for Evatt before long. I don’t know about Wigan, it may be a bit too close to home and I think would be anathema to most Wigan fans.2 likes

We are Bolton fucking Wanderers. We should never be looking at a home game in the 3rd tier of English football as a "free hit".2 likes

Tbf I don’t think I could bear the possibility of him beating us either with Blackpool or Wigan so I’d much rather he went elsewhere!1 like

Really don’t see why they couldn’t have just started reminding referees of the current rule. An indirect free kick in the box is surely a bigger punishment than a corner.1 like

Definitely a confounded problem. I agree that in many cases “people have changed” with an increase in the amount and severity of violence - whole different topic as to why (social media, gaming etc). I’m not a big fan of big government (nanny state) but I do think there comes a point where the safety of the many outweigh the liberties of the few…..which in this case for me clearly would mean more stringent gun/knife laws (esp confronting the second amendment nutters in the US).1 like

He's been asked to sign for them after impressing over the past few weeks at training. He's buzzing the lad. His manager is gutted 😢1 like

Ignoring the dogs for now (😂), and I can tell already we’ll never agree on this, but in reality the outcomes are a combination yes of people but also opportunity and consequence. In 2024 there were almost 41000 gun violence deaths in America. I know stabbings in the UK and car terrorists in Germany are a problem, but not quite on that scale. If we had US gun laws in this country would we have more gun-related deaths? By your argument not as the people are still the same people?1 like

Unbelievably, just looked it up and guns actually beat cars in several parts of America. "gun deaths (including gun suicide, homicide, and fatal unintentional shootings) outpaced motor vehicle deaths (both occupant and pedestrian) in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming."1 like

Yes as you drive in towards the ground everyone parks on the grass verges , worth turning round so pointing right way as you leave. There are lots of spots behind some shops/offices off the main road but there were ‘no parking’ signs on these.1 like

Derby are going down whoever their manager is, with that squad compared to their competitors (shame). Eustace sure to be given next season to get them back up, which he probably will. Cook not safe at Chesterfield, I think they expected to be higher than 15th with their crowds (Bromley came up with them and they are doing better). Mansfield on a horror run but as long as they stay up Clough's probably safe, he had a great 2024.1 like

In fact, I'm going to start carrying "Just in case" beer mats with me from now on. Especially when I travel abroad. I'll get 11 for Hamburg next month @tomski1 like

Actually, even the daft sods like Bolty are finally given credit where credit is due. It's amazing when you actually put growns ups in charge of the nation. It's dull, hard work - just what we need.1 like

I think this is the type of Politics that Starmer is very good at. Behind closed doors having serious discussions and bringing the ‘squabbling kids’ together. He has done nothing other than to praise Trump it would have been easy to jump on and widen the gaps. He is playing the Statesman role excellently. Imagine Boris in the middle of this. Maybe solid and boring is a good thing 👍1 like

If Trump persuades Putin to leave Ukraine and give back all the land that was brutally taken, then I think I will have to become a fanboy myself. He'd be deserving of Nobel Peace Prize. Think we know deep down that's not part of the plan here.1 like
