I think some of those questions would be unproductive. It is what it is, and we’ve moved on. Sharon has been the most important factor in our revival and I, for one, wouldn’t like to see her subjected to such questions.8 likes

Big game hoodoo well and truly smashed. Talk about stepping up to the plate. Wasn't just application and tempo either, it was ingame maneuvers by a proactive and also reactive manager. How good is it seeing us counter attack at pace? No more treacleball, fast direct passing and darting in to space. Pressing like fuck. Its a pleasure to watch. If Evatts was Phil Neal, this mon could well be Bruce Rioch.8 likes

If your garden has 14 years worth of dogshit in it, cleaning it up will occasionally involve some fairly unpleasant periods. But, it’s understood that clearing it up means the dogshit will be gone. Unfortunately, the dog that laid all the turds won’t help. It’ll just sit there barking.7 likes

Magnificent tonight. Everyone says they dominated for 30 minutes, they had 2 shots in first half. They had a lot of ball in midfield but produced next to nothing , even the cross for the goal was deflected. I am no fan of 2 in midfield and it looked like I was going to be proved right, but once we got playing our extra men were wide players and Desmond and CMG did really . Low point was the ref bottling the red card, the lad even had his head in his hands after the pull back, the later foul was just adding to the refs fuck up. Lots of high points, but Morley chasing May down when looked to be through, George Johnston sliding tackle second half in their half, the word ‘cruncher’ was invented for such moments, everyone joining in at the end, a cross field ball from Morley to Tutu, the closing down in second half, work rate across the team. Morley my MOTM he has improved so much this season it is incredible.7 likes

Can't get to sleep yet, still too much adrenaline, wow. Probably the best and most enjoyable game I've seen from us in a very very long time. The bit at the end with Tutu followed by the brawl was just the cherry on the cake. Johnnos big tackle, all the effort the lads put in. Outstanding. I've not lost my voice like that at a game all season. Schuey has got us playing but has already delivered on his promises of us playing with energy and intensity. We showed Birmingham today that we aren't just a League 1 minnow that will turn on it's back for then. We're Bolton Wanderers. And whether it's this season or the next, Schuey is getting us out of this league.6 likes

Even if we’d have not gotten a result the bloody pride, fight, energy, character, hunger was given by every single one of them. That’s all we ask for win or lose, we’ll be rewarded for the effort we put in during the game more often than not. If we can bottle that up then we will win the play offs, it was the best performance since the 4-0 Wembley & 6-0 Sunderland. We shouldn’t be scared of any team in League one, I know Brum have a mad squad for the level but we have some real L1 proven quality standouts & now we have a gaffer who can get them to show it. Bring on all the fuckers, especially the tiny little shit local clubs who’ve been taking the piss out of us under Evatt.5 likes

it's not really an elephant on the room I'm sure such questions are asked and answered on a regular basis in the boardroom we're flying at the minute, who knows what would've happened had we sacked IE earlier we may have ended up with a different manager we might still be playing a misfiring Charles up front who gives a fuck about ifs/whats/maybes there was no doubt IE had to go when he did and there's no doubt SS has improved things massively4 likes

Those who had not yet bought in to the Schumacher era will be on the road to being true believers now. A tremendous result. They can say Brum had injuries but we've got a few out too. I liked the comments from SS in his interview along the lines of "It's alright having the quality but you need the industry and effort". Ally that to his tactical flexibility and this is all a world away from the one-dimensional world we had before. COYWM!4 likes

Well done SS for getting them confident, happy and understanding what is required. Well done on selecting players to do the job, even if I was wary initially. Well done on not being trigger happy and not taking off players that were being carried. Well done on having the nouse to suss out an opponent and how to overcome them. Well done to the players.4 likes

Only just getting round to adding my thoughts and I won’t repeat what’s already been said, pretty unanimously. - I was convinced that Tutu was no more than a finisher against tired shit defences based on his last couple of performances, and by no means could you trust him in a big game, especially with any kind of defensive role. WRONG. He was fucking brilliant, defensively and offensively. You could tell from the first 5 minutes that he was on it, and it never dropped. I think his fitness is constantly improving as well which is helping. More than happy to eat my words and look a twat for my previous view, that was some performance and another full back destroyed. - I said I wouldn’t judge McAtee until he’s playing under a new manager, although it was getting harder and harder to do. Glad I stuck to it because this is a different player. He’s got that shithouse element back to him and it gets him all fired up. He’s also a striker, not a “top of a box midfield 4, supporting but not being a striker, sometimes but other times helping midfield” bollocks that Evatt concocted. - I thought the starting line up was crazy and I hate to see a team without Sheehan in it. The way they played around GT in the first 30 minutes I was convinced I was right. Turns out I wasn’t (again). GT grew into it and the changes worked. CMG was brilliant, Forino looks like he was playing his 20th game of the season and the switch to the back 5 meant JDC (brilliant again - some change in him!) and Tutu had a field day with Collins and CMG almost acting as wingers in front of them. Made me realise that starting line ups are nowhere near as important as under Evatt. You used to be able to script a game from the team sheet, now you’ve no idea and know that there will be constant changes in tactics, formations and personnel. - I’ll say it again, Morley staying and Evatt going, and not the other way around, is the best thing to happen in the January window. He’s the main man in this team, chest out and absolutely running the show. Up against a championship level midfield and maybe slightly biased but I thought he was the best midfielder on the pitch. Loads of examples again of his defensive side of the game, physical side (pace, strength, legs) is as good as anyone in the squad and I think he misplaced one pass. Some player in this form. - SS has somehow made us look like a physical team. Having Forino back helps (he just looks like a proper centre half) and Toal as well, add to that Morley and GT who aren’t small, Collins and CMG aren’t massive but have a presence, Tutu and JDC hardly getting knocked off the ball, Johnston and even Randall flying into tackles, Lolos comes on to add more height. It was the first time in a long time that I’ve looked at the team and it looks like we’ll compete physically. For me it makes a massive difference in this league and was another thing that Evatt completely overlooked. We’re going up, I’m absolutely convinced.3 likes

Maybe washing dirty laundry in public or over analysing past decisions is just a waste of time and people would rather concentrate on all the positives that are moving us forward ?3 likes

Tactical masterclass from Schumacher tonight. When they couldn’t play out from goal kicks, they couldn’t go long with only May up front. As the game went on they just had nowhere to go. For 30 mins of second half we out fought and out thought them. They simply had no clue how to overcome it. Amazing for a team that, for 30 mins, were the best I’ve seen here in some time and looked like they had 13 players on the pitch. Again, Southwood barely had a ‘proper’ save to make. Whole team worked so hard for that tonight and nobody had a bad’un, but thought Cogley was outstanding and the pick of them personally. There’ll be bumps in the road (and we ain’t getting top 2), but we’ve got a fun couple of months coming up and we’ll go into next season with optimism now whatever happens.3 likes

The difference in character of this team under SS is chalk and cheese with the limp, fragile almost frightened performances under Evatt. We all knew the players had talent but couldn’t understand why they were all so weak and flaky, lacking confidence.. We’re starting to look a proper team now. Get in the playoffs and Schuey will take us up, 👍3 likes

Those were my thoughts coming away from the game, it deserves a chant "We've got our Bolton back". Keeping IE so long looks crazier by the week, we should be challenging for 2nd not 5th or 6th.2 likes

I think that gear was reverse 😀 What a turnaround, they were by far the best team we've played this or last season for the first half hour. Magical last hour, hard to recall a better performance.2 likes

1 comment from the blues post game “if they had Schumacher in from the start they’d be top of the league with us. He’s a cheat code at this level” very nice to hear from a side who spent £30m on transfers and whose wage budget is twice anyone else’s 😀2 likes

Still buzzing this morning. Could never have imagined walking out of the ground this season feeling that proud and elated a couple of months ago. Schumacher just looks like a class act in everything he's done so far.2 likes

It was always there. After the Wembley debacle all IE was giving off were negative waves. SS seems to be harnessing the power of positive thinking allied with hard graft and not a small amount of skill and determination. We are going up, I'm telling yer.2 likes

Listening to that interview from Schumacher is very refreshing, recognising that there are other good teams in the division that you need energy and industry to beat, not just your own talent. The video Zico posted highlights the difference, and although that is a stark example, the same arrogance and single minded belief that 'the philosophy' was enough to beat any team on any day. We had days like that before, when confidence was high but they generally started with us on top and continuing, not fighting back to impose ourselves. As Schumacher points out though, need to deliver again Saturday with a tough game at Burton.2 likes

FAB-U-LOUS!!!!! Tonight, and recent performances have proven just how much that cunt was holding us back.... I thought their 2 Koreans in centre midfield were a class act, especially 24.... SS can manage a game 👍 Loved the skirmish at the end! Only Randall didn't join in 😁2 likes

The positive change in character of so many players in recent weeks has left me with visions of Evatt sat at home shouting at the telly like yon mon at the end of Dodgeball.2 likes

Their midfield dominated us for the first half hour or so but once we upped our workrate and tempo, their midfield suddenly found themselves in a battle without the luxury of time to pick us apart, and our breakaway goal definitely made them think twice about pushing on. I don’t agree with picking out individuals but every last one of them put in a massive shift with the possible exception of Randall when he came on - and even he made a significant contribution. But it was undoubtedly a team performance and a win built on an outstanding workrate and more fight than I’ve seen for a long time. Schuey was brave dropping Sheehan and Schon etc and picking battlers and runners - perfect tactics for this opposition. OK it’s only 3 points and we need to reproduce that level of effort every game, but what a confidence boost.2 likes

Our first and third goals tonight were excellent, superb move for the first and great finish from McAtee, then a bit of long ball for the third, Collins won a header (who knew?!), Randall's work was great, superb sorting out of feet from Collins to finish it. Even better then was how we managed the rest of the game, real strength and nouse from those on the pitch and in the technical area2 likes

Feared the worst after half an hour, Birmingham looked a class above. Then we get an equaliser and the whole game changed beyond recognition. A proper old-fashioned, blood and thunder stuffing. And thoroughly well deserved, too. Incredible work rate right across the park. Outstanding 👏2 likes

Didn't think that 2nd half could get any better but the way they all piled in to that melee at the end is a statement of unity...... It was hardly Battle of Burnden stuff but they were all in it together.2 likes
