  1. This stage of the season I couldn't care less. 3 points. Onto Tuesday.

  4. He can't resist a side foot flick. Can't head for toffee. Plays like he's in a 5aside game. Has no pace. As with a few others we paid way too much for his services, as with a few others, he wouldn't get a kick in the championship. Not really sure what his best position is, he seems to get a free rein.I wanted to like him, but it difficult to....

  9. Ok…..historically probably like most folks I would naturally want to defend the actions of Israel, as the victim of horrendous ideology-based terrorism. October 7th exemplified this. Still does. However over the last 18 months it’s clear to see (to me) that the Israeli reaction is now disproportionate and indiscriminate with civilians seemingly (more than) acceptable collateral. So, as I’ve said more than once to me it’s not Arab v Jew, Israel v Palestine, Hamas v IDF etc ….. it’s right v wrong. I’m happy to call both sides out on this, equally, for the horrendous crimes they have/are both perpetrating. Imho it’s not possible to choose one camp anymore.

  11. Worst for me was Freedman. Not so much on results, but his lack of passion, his pseudo intellectual mumbo-jumbo, disinterest, not getting the best out of his players/squad. He was a lifeless soul who didn’t want to be here (he’s pretty much admitted this since) None of the other failures displayed those characteristics. The minimum for anyone representing Bolton Wanderers is passion, fight and a will to do your best. The wanker.

  13. Which disagreement and which day? I honestly don't give a fuck what you or anyone else has to say on any topic on here I just make sure the forum keeps on going by paying the running costs up front so we can all pass the time posting whatever shite anyone wants I do not moderate or censor anyone No offense but what you say or whether we agree is not important to me And I only feel I need to make it clear because it's not the first time you've accused me of something like this

  14. Even today there were at least 2 or 3 things he did that showed just what an asset he can be. I’m also convinced that he’s the key to improving the front line because he’s so good at backing them up from midfield and providing support to the attack. If he stays fit, a midfield 3 of Morley, Sheehan and Dempsey for the majority would massively improve our chances.

  15. The thing for me is Hamas Will never destroy Israel, they'll just keep biting, they don't have the capacity to destroy it But in time Israel can destroy gaza, and are doing their best to do so, and in the process taking out everyone, not just Hamas, and that is their mantra I'd like to think there are plenty Palestinians and Israelis who could live in a two state solution The unfortunate thing is those in charge don't Which is why, in answer to your previous question, I don't support either camp, never have, never will To support either is to support their actions

  17. !st half was hard going but with Bristol fighting for their lives & sticking 11 men behind the ball , it was never going to be easy. Better 2nd half, got the ball out wide, slightly faster tempo & the chances started to come (CMG really should have hit that one 1st time)& we wore them down. Lovely goal !! Then a scary last 10/15 minutes where it looked like we didn't know whether to stick or twist, Bristol looked dangerous& Baxter made a great save. Anyway, 3 points is everything, 6 more 1-0 debacles please. EIEIEIO

  18. We’re agreeing lots here 😂. I agree Hamas can’t /mustnt win. To me though the best way to defeat them and their ideology is to cut off the desire for anyone to support them. Israeli bombs imho won’t do this. Will always attract more “martyrs”. If Israel signalled a genuine desire for a two state solution then Hamas become irrelevant. They’ll lose all support from normal Palestinian folk and eventually they can be identified and incarcerated/eliminated whatever. Not perfect but better than what we’re watching daily atm. Israel also needs to back off in the West Bank as well.

  19. He's been anonymous because he's a very average L1 wing back being asked to provide attacking width for an entire squad. As for today, it's simple really. This team isn't very good. In that context, any win is a good win and if we get to the playoffs that'll be a very solid achievement for SS.

  20. You're right on both of those, we shelled £350k out on Cantello and, as you say, he was a big let down

  21. I’d get him back in as soon as possible.

  22. That wasn’t Greaves fault though.. once again the club didn’t back him and the team was always going to struggle without serious investment. Once the fans turned (I think it was the 4-0 drubbing at Derby that sealed his fate) which was unforgivable after the brilliant times he’d given us! it took over 10 years to recover. And we’ve been there again recently and now we are slowly on the way back again, which is why I love being a Bolton fan, never dull, rarely boring and more often than not playing for something at the end of the season, either a promotion or fighting relegation 😅

  24. The only thing that matters at any stage of the season is results Some times it's todd like 96/97 Sometimes it's parky like 16/17 I highly doubt performances like today or the last 5 games would be enough in the play offs We need to get back to the 3-1 Brum levels soon

  25. It's a point made by many others, including our manager, but there's one thing that matters at this stage of the season and one thing only: results And this week we've got them Onwards and upwards

  26. Armfield was the first for me. First full season watching and we get promoted. Loved this football lark Greaves will always be my favourite. Ewood, away at Man U, Frank, promotion, BSA’s header vs Sunderland. Best ever memories as a Wanderer. As someone above I could name a Greaves lineup in a heartbeat Managers after Greaves were just shite appointments but Neal did us well. Not the best but….Wrexham Rioch prob my 2nd favourite Allardyce obvs up there Parky has plenty of credit for me Freedman was just baffling and is probably my worst but I’ll never forgive Megson for the 2-2 against Hull. Lee was just a stupid appointment

  27. Notable thing today, another header from Collins, great that he's showing that can actually be part of what he offers, timed his run onto it really well

  28. Tough watch. They offered little until 1-0 down and even then, not much. Well organised though. Lack of genuine pace up top / out and out striker shows on days like today. Probably down to 1 from 3 for 6th spot now. 10 points from last 6 needed I reckon. Dempseys return could be timed to perfection. Massive player if we keep him fit.

  30. Similar to Tuesday, not great on the eye, but for me we have not had enough games like this this season. Wrexham have had something like 10+ 1-0 victories this season and now have one foot into the Championship. Our defence has been abysmal this season so back to back clean sheets and wins is a big improvement. What a man Chris Forino is, has had a big impact on the defence, hope he just can stay fit now.

  31. Result the main thing at this time of year, but considering it was one team fighting for the play offs and one trying to stay up, there was very much an end of season malaise about things. I blame the sunshine (even though in true Middlebrook fashion it was bloody freezing) That wild back pass to Baxter was terrifying though!

  32. Glass half full but would be happy today with another scabby 1-0 win. And on Tuesday. It still builds momentum. If we’re going to get out of this division this year then let’s save our best football for the playoffs. Just got to get there….

  33. Ian Greaves was the first I remember and remains one of the best. It was great that Big Sam them came along from the Greaves era and the latter speaks very warmly about the former in his book. Bruce Rioch is the other great in my time. I fell out with Colin Todd in the same way I ended up falling out with Evatt. It seemed all to be about the aesthetics rather than the results. Weird given his 96/7 team could fight as well as play. Stan Anderson and George Mulhall in the 80s were mistakes. John McGovern and Phil Neal tried very, very hard for BWFC but you wonder what the fascination with employing player managers was by the boards at the time. Coyle got off to a great start but proved one-dimensional and Freedman/Lennon were fighting against the odds with the financial plight of the club. Sammy Lee was a total disaster and the wrong appointment. Mention must be made of Phil Parkinson in later days. It was not pretty but he got us a promotion and acted with dignity through those dog-days of financial ruin.

  36. Megson didn't do anything wrong results wise It was just mostly dour and he was a cunt DF on the other hand Biggest game of the season he starts Rob Hall in midfield The following season he gives us our worst start to a season in over 100 years The following season he did it again All whilst talking about controlling the game without the ball and calling players his gift to us and other such nonsense where he thought he was being smart And came across like he didn't want to be here He wins hands down for me

  38. I’m hoping @Alf Hartiganis a fan of irony and gets the joke of my ‘thanks’ response. But I’m the same @desperado. Much prefer a considered response that offers some value beyond the ‘fucking useless’ type posts you refer to. I guess we’re all different but with a common bond. Keep the long posts coming mate.
