  1. Jones will probably move on. Goes with a good feeling though. Been a good servant to us and wish him well.

  2. After all that, 14 months of stress, anxiety, therapy and probably a couple of bouts of depression too I got good news on Thursday. As I said above, you might not have realised it but your inputs definitely had a baring on the decision to get the test done. I actually referred back to this thread every couple of months to reassure myself I was making the right decision. Time to start living again rather than just existing. Thank you everyone.

  3. what a grueling day that was the heat absolutely killed me, cramped / dehydrated even before half way dug in and got in done though seen so many collapsed and on oxygen being put into ambulances, grim thanks again, just in the taxi home from Piccadilly

  4. People putting too much store in what Parky will do in the championship. The job he had was to get promoted there and he has done it. Wrexham will then have the option to replace him in the championship if things aren't going well. I'd rather Evatt had done a Parky and focused on getting out of league 1 more than having a championship style team in league one.

  5. My taxes haven't gone up? No idea on the farmers pre election as I don't recall them ever getting mentioned. Your last Messiah was second only to Trump in the bullshit stakes and now you've moved onto another in Farage. You are too easily led fella.

  6. I find it amazing how exercised people are getting over the attendees at a funeral. All this talk of seating arrangements, clothes, meetings; kinell- the bloke's dead. I'm not a religious person, and the event is only sad and solemn in the same way as anyone's passing would be. That said, I still consider it with reverence, and bitching about mourners is just sad.

  7. Also all the bugs and little beasties. Ripping up a lawn and putting in plastic grass should have planning permission or just banned.

  8. I don't think we'll be anyone's favourites to go up. The relegated sides and whoever misses out in the play offs this time will all be above us in the bookies thinking. Our fans, and those of Huddersfield, Blackpool, Peterborough, Barnsley, Blackpool, Rotherham & Wigan will all be thinking we can't have a season as bad as last.

  9. I know you’ll not like this as it ruins the vision of the east upper booing massive but I wouldn’t dream of giving them grief. If it was Evatt still in charge I’d simply not bother turning up. The lap will be important to Schumacher and the gauge of where we are at with him and I’d hate to think he’d come off thinking we aren’t with him and the job is about to take on.

  10. That's actually not a bad idea. Get Ju Darby's boys out there too.

  11. Wish he’d done it here. Couldn’t fail to get promoted with that team and wage bill. The next 2 seasons were up there with the worst I’ve seen. Not all his fault but he did nothing to earn his corn.

  12. Was there a dress code? The man you pay taxes to wore blues as did dozens of others. It’s weird why people want to focus on what Trump wears though. It’s a cult

  13. The bit where Iles says that the reasons for 13 outfield players missing range from legitimate to ‘less than convincing. Bearing in mind that he can only say so much, I believe he’s making it as clear as he’s allowed…..

  16. Aye I fully expected him to get us promoted with that team He almost ballsed it up and it should never have gone to the last day when he kept us up, but he did Then he did the best he could when the club was falling apart We can only go off what we know, He's a good effective manager who gets the job done A poor man's Neil Warnock maybe But he knows what he's doing and how to do it, repeatedly

  17. If he struggles to keep them up or get them promoted again I'm sure they'll look elsewhere But with all the promotions under his belt it can't be said he's not a good manager And in terms of where they were when he came in, their ambitions, and where they want to be, right now, everyone at Wrexham loves him And rightly so

  19. At least we will be free of sides with finances more suited to the Premiership then Div 1 and all the hype that went with them.

  20. What a scrap. Felt knackered just watching it. Benn will dominate 147 if he stays off the eggs. Couldn't be happier for Eubank, to do what he did to make weight then dig in for 12 rounds against a fucking fire cracker like Benn is just unbelievable and a fitness like no other. Absolute warrior. I thought they'd go draw when it went to points just for Benns tenacity but it's all down to point scoring. While Benn was wafting shots and missing all over the show but looking dominant it was actually Eubank picking up the points with the clean uppercuts and jabs. Those rabbit punches on the ropes won it him. Getting his points in right at the end of each round. The boxer won. Tremendous.

  25. Shithouse behaviour from Santos. Went from browsing job ads for Amazon to winning trophies at Wembley because of this club. Tutu I'd be surprised at. It was only the last home game that SS was pissed off at him for playing injured. Etete has never looked fit and there's more chance of me starting up front for us next season. If he is faking it he's doing us all a favour. Anyway, the only important things about these last two games is a) stopping the rot and b) seeing what we've got in terms of youth. So job done yesterday.

  26. 1980-81, Division 2, we finished 18th, they finished 16th. Before this season, its the only season since we entered the league in 1888 that they have finished above us.

  31. To be fair, he is doing quite a lot of things his base voted him in to do Mass deportations, crackdowns on DEI, huge (and unnecessarily broad) cuts to government spending, releasing the JFK files, reciprocal tariffs (whatever the merits of doing so), going after the "deep state" He's not negotiated a ceasefire to the Ukraine-Russia war but all his supporters really give a fuck about there is that they stop funding it, which is currently looking likely

  34. SS has played 532, 433 and 4231, he tended to play 4231 more at Stoke. Managers are people and they change over time, their understanding of the players at their disposal and their own tactical abilities. If SS is saying we need both strength and pace with wingers in the team, hes going the 433 and 4231 route, as you dont sign wingers to play at the back wing like we did with Sadlier.

  38. Santos has been long gone for months, heads down south & hasn't wanted to be here since Wembley shit show. Dempsey will probably end up as Carlisles marquee signing in non league, really like the lad he's probably been my fave player over past few seasons but his knee is totally fucked. Baxter was one of the best keepers in the league last season, few weeks ago I'd say keep but although he stated he wants to stay it doesn't look like he does with his performances on the pitch. Johnstone I'm really not arsed about, he was going to run his contract down and leave for a free not so long ago I'd be trying to cash in on him especially if we're moving away from a back three. Gethin just looks shot to bits, his passing has always been poor but his fitness has completely spiralled & is getting rings ran round him these days. Matete has been our best player past few games but where has that been all season? There's a player there, would probably take him as a squad option

  39. Not weird at all. I just want to see the end of this season. It’s been one balls up after another with everyone from the top (sorry Sharon), IE and CM all in the frame. Dispensing with the services of Gilks has cost us. Management, decision making and team selection has been shite and the handling of Santos’s troubles and delaying of the obvious has cost us a season. At least a season. Sorry, but you did ask.

  44. Interesting that neither Big Dave nor Big Lewis have come through the normal academy route. So maybe that’s our niche. Would love the club to have a thriving academy playing at a higher level for youngsters, but it would cost millions of pounds and take 10 years, and the best would still be off to prem or champ clubs at the first opportunity.

  45. I'd never heard of a single one of our current players before they signed for us, so I've absolutely no idea who we should be looking at for the future. It's been like that since day dot for me. Anelka and Gary Speed are probably the only exceptions. Maybe Diouf. Obviously I learn about a players history after they sign, but I just have no interest in football outside of BWFC, other than important England games. And the occassional relapse into my Champ Manager addiction, where I manage Rushden & Diamonds until I get the sack and immediately retire.

  46. Not sure how I feel about lads that are still in the tournament doing commentary/punditry on other games. Seemed a bizarre situation to me last night when Judd Trump won his game then found himself being "interviewed" by Sean Murphy in the studio right after it, who he will be playing in the next round. Just find it a bit strange
