After all that, 14 months of stress, anxiety, therapy and probably a couple of bouts of depression too I got good news on Thursday. As I said above, you might not have realised it but your inputs definitely had a baring on the decision to get the test done. I actually referred back to this thread every couple of months to reassure myself I was making the right decision. Time to start living again rather than just existing. Thank you everyone.9 likes

Aye, and obviously a big chunk of those visits will have been for semi finals. Always has been and always will be bollocks that semi finals are played there.8 likes

Yeh you’re spot on there. When it’s not your club it’s all just a passing interest really. Don’t get me wrong it was pretty special yesterday and I’m pleased I took up the opportunity to go. But football for me is all about passion, togetherness , your town, your community, tribal bonding, relationships, unique rivalries, history and traditions that go back generations with family. When it’s not your team, you’re just a casual observer. I’ll never get this 2nd team nonsense. Despite its “world wide appeal” and coverage yesterday, it didn’t come close to following Bolton5 likes

Nor should you. It's like the foreign football nonces pretending they care about German and Italian teams to appear cool. Saying things like "Forza Tagliatelle".4 likes

The Liverpool fans setting off blue flares that had been repackaged as red flares was a wonderful prank by the Everton fan. Also interesting that the semi final crowd yesterday was 6,000 less than the Bolton v Plymouth gate3 likes

Jones will probably move on. Goes with a good feeling though. Been a good servant to us and wish him well.3 likes

They've just had a protest about the prices at their own ground. Given the repeated visits to Wembley, champions league games, domestic cups and league games, it's no bloody wonder that a relatively small number went. It's not the final neither, which is another bug bear. Money isn't exactly growing on trees for many, and maybe previous heavy football spending has had to be curtailed. Especially as they have now got the final itself to pay for; again something for which many will have to budget for, and maybe could only afford the one trip. I don’t blame them one bit- fans are continually pressed for cash by clubs- and I hope it makes some of the hierarchy wake up. Doubt it will though.2 likes

I think the chat about Matete (valid points, I'm not saying he's perfect by any stretch) just illustrates that we can't say "keep or get rid" without knowing what the alternatives are. If we can sign that 32 year old ex championship defensive midfielder who tackles and drives the team on, get rid of Matete by all means. If its essentially the current midfield, we'd be losing our only tackler and only player capable of beating a man and carrying the ball forward. He would also look better with a proper CF to pass to. Just in the last 3 games I lost count of the number of times he played a good 10 or 15 yard pass into the feet of Lolos, Etete, Collins or McAtee and with a Wrexham or Stockport forward that ball sticks and we create a half chance. But with us it just bounces off them, the ball is cleared and Matete is running back to retrieve a situation he's partly to blame for, out of position by overestimating our ability to hold up a simple ball.2 likes

I'd genuinely like to hear what certain members of this board think after watching that.2 likes

Well done to all who ran yesterday. I was in Manc to watch my youngest run. Gruelling. Taking him to the airport now for his long journey home. I’m sure he’ll sleep most of the way.2 likes

Just watched the extended highlights on EFL McAtees miss in last minute when he goes round the keeper and misses just about sums up our season.2 likes

Got me thinking did that. I've always believed "card shark" was the phrase. Having read up, it seems sharp was indeed the original, but shark is accepted equally now. Your wet cephalopod, and ineffective hanging implements do remain incorrect. Give it a few years though..1 like

No reason on planet earth that that semi shouldn't be played at Villa Park. That play off final last season cost me over £700. Imagine having to do that a couple times a season and probably again in a month or so.1 like

Obviously you pay no attention to any of it then as you have much better things to do. In fact, I bet you don’t even comment on football forums about it.1 like

Quite frequently if we go a goal down then I’ll stick a few quid on us to win. Did the usual at 1-0 at PNE….just as the ball hit the net for the second 🙈 Come half time at 2-2 it looked the safest bet in the world but we didn’t quite manage to nick it Had a great day out, actually. No hassle drinking anywhere1 like

Had this really posh client who kept saying, 'this is going to be a damp squid', I just said well that'd be good then, at least it'd be happy. Had to go through what a squib was. This bloke went to Eton.1 like

Exactly. Not exactly been overly arsed about our lot recently, so the rest register as much as an ant fart. Actually helps to just enjoy a game as a neutral, and judge objectively. Like the Palace victory for example.1 like

I’m seriously considering giving it a miss. I just want to see the back of this season more than any I can remember.1 like

People putting too much store in what Parky will do in the championship. The job he had was to get promoted there and he has done it. Wrexham will then have the option to replace him in the championship if things aren't going well. I'd rather Evatt had done a Parky and focused on getting out of league 1 more than having a championship style team in league one.1 like

Christ. I don't doubt that everyone who commented on this last February will have completely forgotten that they had an input but I'd just like you all to know that your words really did (and do) mean a lot and have helped more than you know. A full course of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a number of counselling sessions and countless physio and sports massage sessions (every time I convinced myself that pins and needles in my arms/hands/legs/foot etc. was the onset of MND) over the last 13 months and I've finally got to the point where I had a blood sample taken for this yesterday. Results in 6 weeks time. Here's hoping for the best. Expecting the worst but hey ho. Thank you all.1 like
