Just thought I'd try out your findings at the trafford centre.. Most popular answer when asked was... "Piss off you weirdo" I'll try the men's toilets next time I go..6 likes

This is now my des-res in Yorkie Land. 10 minute walk up across a sheep field and we're on the coast to coast walk... we follow this for a short distance onto the moor then cut off along a track into a village called Raw, then down the hill to Flylingthorpe and its right to Boggle Hole & Ravenscar or left to RBH and Whitby.5 likes

Agree, got a soft spot for the lad, decent on the ball and is an aggressive centre half, as in he throws his body/head/bollocks into a tackle. I like that (as a former centre half). We're in D3 not La Liga and sometimes (every game) we need some "controlled", in your face, fxxx you, attitude aggression)4 likes

Nuneaton. Two Afghan 'refugees' rape a 12 year old girl and the Police say they are not required to 'release ethnicity or immigration status'. Didn't stop them immediately labelling the cunt who mowed people down with a car in Liverpool 'a white British man' did it? They haven't learned from the grooming gang disgraces in Rotherham, Rochdale etc. or even from what happened in Southport have they? Better to be a rapist than a racist? It would seem so as far as the 'authorities' are concerned. More we have to thank the new puritans for.4 likes

I think Taylor would be the best bet at centre-half, even though I've never seen him play. I base this on the fact that I've seen all our other centre-halves play.3 likes

We've signed what, 10 players so far? 12/13 by the end of the window? And they're exclusively all from this level, below or similar. Nobody needs to have been guaranteed a place to get them here. I'm sure Taylor expects to play, I'm sure 20 of them do. If he's better than Conway he'll start more often, if he's not he won't. That he's recently signed won't make any difference.3 likes

He’s only being moulded into a LB by folks on here. Stuff being made up again. When they’re all fit, Taylor will be LCB and Conway LB. Yeah, he can cover it if Conway is injured.3 likes

Pissed me off when McAtee had a go at Conway for not crossing, was a good strike, certainly better than McAtees earlier. Thought SS was wrong saying they had a shot from the edge of the area that led to a goal whereas our shot from same spot went wide. Their shot was mis hit and deflected, the Morley effort was inches wide and a better strike Was impressed with Conway, a few he won balls back defensively which did not seem to be the weakness people had said3 likes

Put it this way - if I wanted to build a solid back four and the choice for RB was between a CH and a WB I’d be going for the CH all day long.2 likes

Fair enough. Time will tell. I think the temptation at this time of year is to assume all the new signings will be exactly as advertised and be better than the players who were already here. But rarely does it work out like that. In fact I'd say it never works out like that. Some will get injured, some won't be as good as lads already here and some just won't work out at all (and be deemed fucking shite). After the first game of last season it was a relatively common opinion that Scott Arfield had a key role to play. Of the players you've mentioned - adding Burstow + the new winger and striker SS wants - only TSL isn't going to have serious competition for his place. I think it's very much up in the air who will emerge as first choice as the season progresses. If it turns out we've signed half a dozen top tier L1 players in one window it would be borderline miraculous. In the case of Taylor, he's had two seasons playing in the SPL and prior to that was not far off semi-pro level. The balance of power is him fighting for a place to show he belongs at the level we want to be, not us delivering him first team football.2 likes

If the McCanns could accept any responsibility for what they did i may have a bit more sympathy for them But they won't Well off couple with good jobs and employing a PR (now disgraced) bloke If they were a couple from a council estate on a jolly in Benidorm they would have been crucified by the media2 likes

If the role of JDC in the current system, when attacking, is mainly to provide overlapping runs, Forrester is more than capable of that. And arguably stronger defensively and better in the air for defending or attacking set pieces. I'm not saying I want Forrester right back as he's a CB, but its not like Cogley's doing much that Forrester couldn't.2 likes

I wouldn't claim he's off the same quality obviously, but for style of play, Alonso came to my mind to2 likes

Not beyond possibility that Taylor and Conway could both play on the odd occasion. Johnston in the mix also so, as SS says, he's well off on that side.2 likes

Seems to be a lot of expectation on Warren. Lad's just stepping up from the 8th tier. A good season for him will be training regularly with the first team and making the squad occasionally. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the lad.2 likes

After the Liverpool incident there were plenty of people saying it was not a white bloke and posting pictures of random folk with dark skin to prove their point. There was a really grainy image of the car were the driver was pixilated to fuck and people using that as clear proof. It really is a shithole on Twitter. In separate news Tommy has clearly been set up and more and more people have become experts on his licence conditions from previous conviction. A crowd funder has been launched as predicted. One person said he should be locked and the key thrown away. Some one else said just put it on a high shelf. 😂😂2 likes

Because he really does not suit the way we are set up to play. Sunday highlighted this he was dropping deep to get the ball a couple of neat and tidy passes and then a short pass to nowhere. You say he is different to the others but that does not mean he fits in . He has made 40 plus appearances every season he has been fit but hardly set the world on fire. Based on Sunday he should be 4th choice for the 2 midfield slots behind Simons , Erhahon and Morley. Maybe he could a job as the number 10 but in this system the 10 we need also needs to be more physical. So bizarrely despite having a squad full of them not sure we have 1 good enough. For me Sheehan flatters to deceive, he has lots of nice and tidy touches but not enough game changing or influencing moments. The only question I have is that he has played apparently a slightly different role for Wales and looked effective. So could that work and fit in here. I have him down as a sub at best and would have no issue him leaving if we also bought in a suitable replacement.2 likes

I’m confused as to why people are so desperate to move Sheehan on. We can’t have a midfield unit of like for like players. Hes completely different to the others and offers a different way of playing, that will be crucial in some games. He’ll make 40+ appearances this season, fitness permitting. And he’ll contribute as much, if not more, than any of the others. We’re a better football team with him in it and I’d bet he’ll excel with the likes of Simons or Erhahon beside him instead of Morley or Randall2 likes

Our record so far against teams expected to finish top 6 whiffs of the IE era I'm looking for evidence from SS we have moved on So yes, a win against a team expected to finish top 6 is a must2 likes

I’ve also noticed SS never seems to praise Conway and everything seems critical. Maybe it’s the man management style he thinks will work with Max to get him to improve, but it seems like he wouldn’t be in favour to play if he had more options. I actually think Conway looks a cracking prospect and is doing really well, hope he carries on and becomes a permanent first team member.2 likes

aye, unless it's tactical, stick with same team, certainly no need to change 4 players save the changes for Sheff Weds next week1 like

That’s more down to mcatee and Randall being a big naff though rather than him being decent.1 like

We dont have a decent 9 and certainly not a ten at present so i would go 4/3/3 until Dalby is fit but i expect he will stick with the 4/2/3/1 Tsl Cogley Toal Johnson Conway Morley Simons Erhahon Duberry Burstow Gayle Just do not see us needing a ten because we have gone direct, those three on the ball can put any of the forwards in from midfield1 like

The Police can't really win in these instances. After Southport, it was all over X, and repeated on here, that the killer was Muslim, had only just come over on a boat and a false name was peddled. When his details were released, including that he was originally from Oswestry - "oh he's a Welsh choir boy is he?!"1 like

I've seen enough of us, and enough football generally, over five decades and more, to not be too up about a first day win or down about a first day defeat. Orient last year was a decent win against what we thought would be a modest side, all I thought about it. Yesterday was a narrow defeat away to one of the likely front runners, nothing more than that. There were some measures of improvement v the two games v Stockport last season though. Challinor in his post match admitted they would have been lucky to have been level at HT, while in the comms, they mentioned that last season we had a total of three efforts on target in 180 minutes. We have a tricky first month of fixtures, as tricky as anyone's, I'll see where we are by the end of the month (and the end of the window)1 like

Surely the jury is out everywhere? I have absolutely no idea how you can speak with such cast iron certainty. We finished 8th last year and about a million points off the playoffs, so we probably would have to go some to be worse than that. Are we better than the side that finished third and lost to Oxford? Who the fuck knows. Would be deluded to think the answer is definitively yes based on playing well for 40mins against Stockport and losing 2-0.1 like
