  1. You’re doing nothing but helping Reform by calling everyone a thicko for expressing legitimate concerns. Looking back at the thread, I’m probably not as worried as others are about a growing Muslim population. As another poster pointed out, it’s more about different people’s tipping points. I’ve lived in majority Muslim areas before and faced few issues. But I can see why folk would worry if they lived in an area where conservative Islam was taking a stronghold. Just like we would if it was a strict form of Christianity. And it is happening in some places. Those teachers that were harassed in Birmingham for example by vocal Islamist nut jobs. It’s a worry, and people were scared to call it out. Problem is that people also know very little about Islam. They stereotype & label it all as backwards or barbaric. There are plenty of generous & hardworking Muslim communities in this country, nothing to worry about if that grows. Britain has always been an ever changing melting pot. If that’s me with my head in the sand then so be it. But I just see chronic inequality & climate change as a far bigger threat to our future than an expanding Muslim population. But if you just dismiss everyone who raises a concern as a thicko it achieves fck all. Tbf there’s another poster on here who goes around calling folk bullshitters & nonces if he doesn’t like an opinion. So you’re not the only one 😂 Start listening to folk, ya fanny ♥️

  2. I like that. "One of the early messages I gave the wingers is I'll be in the middle of the sticks, and if you cross it and I'm not there, that's my fault".

  3. Who do you think owns and funds all the news outlets in the world ? Musk controls messaging on Twitter is the prime example. GB News , for instance, makes massive losses every year, who funds that and why ? https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/gb-news-huge-losses-continue-094628600.html Cheese might get rattled easy but the idea billionaires are not telling us what to say and think is deluded. This is before you start thinking about the bots all over Social Media. Brexit was idea that Farage had been pumping for years, the EU start bringing in legislation to tackle money laundering and his funding goes through the roof. Look into who funds him. There are your billionaires.

  4. I think there have been a few dismissive comments about Plymouth's performance that don't give us enough credit, but also downplay their threat. They didn't threaten much but god that first half was competitive, every single ball from the 1st minute to the last had to be won and competed for. That doesn't happen against a bottom half side, for a spell they were right on it, and we scored against the run of play. Not one of their players struggled in possession. That winger (was it Mumba or Watts?) tore into us a few times, and our ex winger Amaechi beat us a few times and forced Sheehan into a first half booking. They've been compared to an IE team but they were miles more fast and physical than that, they'll be winning games most weeks, we won't get such a tough 1st half against most teams in games when everyone agrees we played well. In the 2nd half I was so impressed with how we took the game to them "despite" being 1 up then 2 up. They looked beaten after our 2nd but we've had plenty games like that and know how it feels. This was effectively one of those wins against a top 6 side that we couldn't get under IE, a great win rather than one against a poor side.

  5. For some reason I am savouring this win more than normal. Not sure why. Maybe because it was our first win for a good long time given the run of poor results at the end of last year. Maybe because it felt like an affirmation of the new regime, the new system and a good few of the new signings. Maybe its a deepening of the feeling that we are in the right hands with SS. Maybe its recognition that wins under Evatt going back to this time last year came attached with little pleasure because I/we were turning against the guy and his regime. Whatever it is I'm glad. Having seen the newbies on yesterday I am looking forward to seeing Dalby, Taylor, Warren Erhahon and another new signing or two. Brilliant to see pace and a bit of power in a Bolton side and a manager making straightforward decisions that don't lead to a collective raising of the eyebrows of experienced football watchers.

  6. Couple of little things that might get missed today, SS comments about picking certain players for specific jobs is as big a difference as you can get from the previous idea that Plan B is to Plan A better. Today was good and Zero shots on goal conceded is a great for ever player that closed them down and battled all over the pitch. Keeper - Not done much keeping but his kicking is Premier League standard. The ball for the second was one of 3 or 4 inch perfect long balls. TuTu - scares me as a right back but did better as the game went on and his work rate was good Conway - Looks very good. Talk about needing to improve the defensive side but not seen that. Toal and GJ - As good a game that they have had for a while both as individuals and as a pair. Sheehan - I have said I do not see how he fits into ‘the system’ he did today. In first half he tracked back, won a big tackle and played a great ball forward. Best game for a long time. Simons - A proper midfield player, the like of which we have been calling out for. A couple of times when we had lost the ball he cleaned it up. Last season we would have been under pressure. Randel - Best game since he arrived. I think this number 10 will be a vital but tough one he did it well today. As with all the outfield players work rate was exceptional Gale - Of the attacking players maybe the quietest today but still contributed and the cramp shows he is not fully fit. Burstow - really impressive , deserved the goal ( can not remember a recent better team goal) superb home debut. ACD - WOW ! When you can talk about 90 minutes of football and then refer to ‘the touch’ and 99% will know the second you mean shows how good it was. Absolute machine up and and down the wing. SS - Steven Gerard sound a like had a fucking great day.

  7. She absolutely loved it. And unexpectedly she asked if "we're" winning? She was fascinated with Lofty, so that cost £20 in the club shop after the game, she was completely worn out after it

  9. People aren't objective when it comes to Mcatee. The clip of ACD's amazing skill and run shows Mcatee making the right run and ACD should of slipped him in but he chose to shoot. None of the subs had to do much yesterday when they came on. Close down, keep the shape see the game out. Schuey made a lot of changes yesterday and it's clear they weren't all dropped. It's horses for courses. Mcatee and Randall will both get opportunities in that 10 role. Let's just see how it pans out until Christmas.

  10. He’ll get better with every game on that front. Second half when he showed their winger down the outside and ended up winning the goal kick was outstanding full back play. Far too early for making a comparison ability-wise, but almost has a touch of the Alonso’s with the way he carries himself and how he looks on the ball. Let’s just make sure he doesn’t do any driving.

  15. I can't argue with how daft the reported fee was (he's not alone in that when it comes to IE signings) but I wasn't so much thinking about the fee, as players that brought a collective groan when picked. As much as he isn't a top player, I never dreaded him being in the team, just a bit of frustration he wasn't better. Without mentioning names there were others above him in the list of "oh shit" when we heard the line ups!

  17. Lovely to meet @kent_white in the cell last night 🇵🇸 Nah - Just been a busy weekend at the hospital this weekend mate. Mingled with not really giving a shit about some harmless daft lefties in London being labelled terrorists. We all know who the real terrorists are. Massive waste of police time & resources. Just come down hard on those who went for the RAF base, thats all is needed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see another Labour U Turn here. At least it puts to bed the bonkers Two Tier policing argument we keep hearing of late 👍 😄 My surname comes from the Shetland’s. An old Nordic name meaning keeper of pigs. I’d love to go in the next few years. Can’t beat an overnight ferry.

  19. Just posted this on Facebook with people slating McAtee... Feels very much like a cancel culture thing. He's passionate about the club, clearly has some skill but going through a rough patch. He'll come out the other side a better player. He's got previous for this (At Grimsby), gotta be pretty shit to be signed as a hot prospect for a Premier League club and within 2 years be struggling in League One. Genuinely reckon he's going to turn good for us.

  21. I want to see Randall do well because he's a talent but I did think some of the praise he got for yesterday was slightly exaggerated, a few of us commented at 0-0 that he just couldn't get a touch, and he's never going to get into the game by tackling, he couldn't get going. He definitely improved but he can do more than that on the ball. Sheehan the same, anonymous before that slide tackle then 3 great corners got him into the game and he played well despite his blatant foul for the booking. But he definitely had games last season where he dictated more than yesterday. On McAtee, it feels fashionable to knock him and ignore any good stuff he does (not having a dig at you Zico, I just mean generally). We know he can't compete for headers, but aside from that I'm not sure how anyone could criticise his cameo, he got involved, showed great desire, played a great cross field ball and put in a decent cross after a good run. I don't want him to be our 1st choice striker or No.10 any more than anyone else does, but I think the script is already written before he kicks a ball which is harsh.

  22. That 2nd goal was a thing of beauty with every part perfectly played & timed. Any defence would struggle to prevent it. Other thoughts.....Tutu had his best game defensively for us & i wouldn't fear him standing in for Cogley if necessary now. Randall is miles ahead of McAtee, Conway is the best homegrown prospect in years & Simons is a very good player. It's clear now that SS is a horses for courses manager, so no "never change a winning team " tripe, & by using the full squad it will hopefully minimise injuries. MOTM . ACD highly effective with a final product , that full back would have been having nightmares last night, & if Gale becomes as good on the left. we're going to carry a real, fast attacking threat. 23. Every thing has its place. A soup maker belongs next to the waffle machine and sandwich toaster in the far back corner of that bottom cupboard nobody uses along with the juicer/nutribullet.

  24. Certainly feels like a full squad reset, which is what many wanted after the Wembley no show.

  25. by just kicking a long ball and letting Gale and ACD run onto it was causing their defence issues.. It makes all the messing around at the back seem pointless. Just hoping that when teams set up to counter that, that there's a plan B

  28. Probably. I only mentioned soup, as I remember @tomskiraving about this soup maker thing he bought a few years ago, and surely soup is "warm drink" which he reckons are only b for woofters. And he's not been a full on woofter for a few years now

  29. Excellent performance and result. Every single player had a good game. I thought Conway, Duberry, Simons and Burstow were excellent. That second goal was something we haven't seen in a few years. Great stuff. Come On You Whites!!!

  35. Great stuff. Love that we’ve signed Glen Hoddle as a keeper. Gale is going to be a shitload of fun this season The lad from Hull had a great game. Worked hard, made runs held it up and got involved. All topped off by McAtee giving us a short cameo doing none of the above and reminding us just how fucking shite he is. Encouraging

  38. Took mine (then aged 5 and 3) to a home game, then again to an away game (aged 7 and 5) and they weren’t ready. Not enough attention span. Did Crawley away last year and they still got a bit restless. Took my eldest to the Preston friendly (he’s almost 9) and he loved it. He’s now well into it. I think I will leave my daughter another year before taking her again.

  42. A reasoned response. You need a 'fuck it off' mentality to get the ball rolling properly though. Streamlining for efficiency would need to be swingeing IMO.

  43. You only got it wrong if the 2 you would have picked either played crap, or resulted in us not winning, or both! If for eg you wanted Morley and Forino, but we went with Johnston and Sheehan and won 2-0, how do you know we wouldn't have won 4-0 with your two? I think we all get caught up in line ups having to be right or wrong, when nobody knows, including SS but he has to make the calls. We put 11 good players on the pitch against 11 other decent players, plus subs, and hope they play better than the opposition. Next week we try again at Barnsley and the same players might lose as they did at Stockport, that doesn't mean SS picked the wrong team. He can pick any of this squad and that's the right team win lose or draw.

  44. Players that you actually want to like. It makes a big difference! TSL has a bit of Trafford about him - he’s a character that will become a fan’s favourite. Burstow running himself into the ground, battling, winning headers, grafting - it’s the kind of stuff that fans loved SKD for. Simons won’t shirk out of one 50:50 (or even 40:60) all season. Wingers never stopping and doing everything they can to get you off your seats. Homegrown lad looking every bit the LB we’ve not had for years. Plus the lads that are left from the old squad are the ones that are clearly the better characters (maybe one or two still yet to leave). You want them to do well, you give them the benefit of the doubt and encouragement when they make a mistake. Compare that to the shower of shit managed by a manager that nobody liked of last year!
