  1. Indeed. Great post . I was more alluding to how they view us and being more up for it than us and us failing to deal with it time after time. Same with Wigan. We spent years just pretending it wasn't a derby, patting them on the head. But they were always bang up for it. Remember reading one of their player saying it's all anyone talks about for weeks before, even the tea lady is saying get stuck in to them. Same witn this lot. We are talk of the town and that gets through to the players. The atmosphere is up and notch and the players are bang up for it. That's why form always goes out of the window and we usually get beat. Same with Wigan. Treating the occasions like normal games is what's fucked us. If anyone thinks it's just 3 points and another game to them then they're living in cuckoo land and mustn't attend the games in question.

  3. Anyone who doesn't see this as a derby game needs to give their head a wobble. This fixture is steeped in history . A proper Lancashire Derby game.

  4. Old firm at the weekend too. But obviously this means nothing as derby games are just normal games and never differ in pace, aggression or atmosphere.

  5. My memory remains decent for those days. Ask me anything about the last 10 to 12 years and I am hopeless.

  6. Don't want Kenny now we have Dalby and Burstow especially on loan. Any striker we get in now should be a been there done that older head, we don't need another player with potential.

  7. Same old story when it comes to derbies for us Each local team means something different to every one It means everything to @gonzo and @paulhanley to beat them I get way more fired up for Wigan Others for Blackburn and Utd I'll be delighted if we finally win for the first time in my life But I'll be even happier for those two posters I mentioned

  8. Apologies. You’re correct. We’re dealing with intellectual heavyweights that painted the flag of Denmark on a roundabout. Those fucking Vikings. Coming over here stealing our jobs and our women.

  9. can someone help me with this... We've got Sam Dalby that scored 15 in the Scottish Premiership last season which is comparable to League one... Fans are losing there mind over Johnny Kenny that scored 20 in the Irish League, which is comparable to League two at best, or Scottish championship Why on earth would we be paying out daft sums of money for that level? Baring in mind that Scott Arfield looked like a lost sheep for us, then scored 9 in 13 for Falkirk from midfield..

  10. All true, plus Bruce has been forced into playing folk out of position until now. But, whilst both teams will have returning players and both teams will be desperate for a win, I can see us being favourites providing Schumacher gets it right. The BN has been banging on about what great stats we have and how unlucky we’ve been, but the only stat that matters is points, and if Schumacher can get both strikers on without compromising the middle, the goals will come. Hopefully this will be the week when it finally comes together.

  11. Brilliant. So we're sorted then. I'm mean presumably all of the countries incredibly complex problems have been resolved now we've stuck some flags up?

  14. I agree. I get up for Blackpool and Blackburn far more than Wigan! But I started going as a youth, in the 70s.

  15. I'm a huge fan of Burstow. I think he's just what we need and has loads of room for improvement. Exactly the kind of player we should be trying to being to the club permanently. Unless we can get Dan N'Lundlu back if course! 😁

  16. Celtic and Rangers need to find a way into the Conference league so they can at least compete for European honours The CL is way beyond them, as is the EL but that's what they have to aim for coming top two every season It really is one of the worst leagues in Europe

  17. If Rangers also go out tonight the mood around the game will be pretty toxic, both of them in a race to fuck their season up the most

  28. Whether folk choose to believe it or not, there is evidence that the movement is indeed having quite a substantial effect. What appear to be relatively minor things on the face of it are actually the opposite. Then PM's own, and the Home office's own X accounts have seen a significant change in language, content and frequency. The cat is out of the bag now, and no one will be labelled by any remotely sensible politician as far right, nor be locked up for putting a flag up. I've just spent the evening watching an episode of Trigger-nometry, and started their follow up discussion. Only seen a brief bit of one of their podcasts before, so when one appeared with them talking to and taking to task SYL, I thought it may be worth a few minutes. An eye opener for sure, in a number of ways.

  31. Aye. VAR probably would've ruled out Grimsby's second. Refs and linos shouldn't be making errors like that though. Thankfully it didn't matter in the end and it meant just a little more agony for the travelling Man U fans.

  34. I raise you a McGoldrick 😀 And no I'm not advocating him now, but as an example of an experienced, proven player compared to a younger more experienced version. We went for the potential and re-sale value of Vic and Dan over the dead money of getting a McGoldrick 10 years older than them. Well we wouldn't be sat here now saying we should have spent £800k on them two.

  35. Grimsby had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside, when it should never have been offside if the linesman and ref knew the laws.

  39. Aye, and me. Repeat prescriptions done online, ready the same day, contact me for the regular checkups- had two this year - bloods and general. Both in and out in half an hour. Ive had to see them for something once and was seen the day after I contacted after having a phone call consultation. Partner has had the same experience - can't fault it.

  40. Yes the Kop behind the goal was closed for safety reasons but the Bolton fans locked outside smashed their way in anyway and filled half of it. Remember the Blackpool fans getting on the pitch and heading across the goalmouth towards the Bolton fans in the Kop .... but never getting close. First thing I remember seeing that day was Bolton fans jumping the fence from their home terrace behind the goal and running the length of the pitch to the away end. The home seats had plenty of Bolton fans - us included. David Cross scored our goal with a header against the run of play half way through the second half. Could not hang on. It was the first game Phil Neal had with us as manager. He played at football and shanked his first touch in to the stand prompting ironic cheers and laughter from the home ends.

  42. Dalby is an unknown (as yet, playing in this squad), so no one can really judge, It'll take a few games for him to get up to speed. As for "number 10's" it doesn't matter what number they wear as as long the buggers put ball in the net!! Footballs gone bloody mad, and its actually quite simple, score more goals than who you are playing! We look good, a lot more positive than last season.
