  1. I disagree, loads happens that is not in the manifesto. The idea that people with a £50k pension should get a bit extra at Xmas rather than that money going to say the NHS is daft. The fact folk living in Spain still get it is also daft. Taking it off those on the breadline was political stupidity.

  3. 7 direct goal involvements between the 2 of them in 11 games. And that’s without taking into account those where they’re a big part of the move but laid the ball off to someone that crossed it etc, or the fact that they are often drawing 2+ men to them and leaving the rest of the team with more space, or the chances they’ve created that haven’t been finished. I wish the rest of them contributed as much.

  4. Boomers are the richest pensioners Britain has ever had or likely ever will. Yet reducing a £200-300 a year bonus was greeted like we were throwing old folk on the nearest bonfire. Utterly ridiculous.

  5. I didn’t say they hadn’t had a good season, they’ve been fantastic entertainment but I asked what have they actually contributed to results. Wingers essentially create opportunities for the forwards, how many have Gale and ACD really created for others? They’re more intent on doing it all themselves and apart from one worldie each they’ve really created little else. On Saturday it just needed ACD to slide the ball sideways to a totally unmarked Dalby but yet again he chose to shoot and wasted the opportunity. I’m not arguing they aren’t both quality players but I’d just like to see them use their talent more constructively for the team rather than try to do it all themselves. If you disagree that’s fine, it’s just an opinion but if you do just say why. You claim the second striker has lacked input could the fact be ACD and Gale don’t use him? Just asking.

  6. I'd say we were arguably the better side in all 5, even our disappointing showing at Northampton.

  8. Don’t get this. Agree with Starmer. Why have a pro-Palestinian march today of all days, 2 years on? Really insensitive and won’t do their cause any good whatsoever. I’m all for recognising Palestine and the two-state solution as the only hope in hell of achieving any sort of long-term peace, but show some respect for gods sake 🤦‍♂️. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1wgx5v90vyo

  9. 2 very long posts. If we lose Saturday is the season over ? Of course not. We start the week with 3 points from 5 away games. We have 2 away games this week. If we have serious and realistic hopes of play offs or promotion we need to improve. If we go to Burton and only draw, our next 3 away games are Huddersfield , Luton and Stevenage. 1st, 6th and 11th in the league. So why are people not thinking that improvement needs to start against the team in 21st who lost 0-4 in their last home game ? My question to Casino was if we do not start winning away Saturday when does he think we will ? He ain’t answered maybe you will ? I am a long way off throwing the towel in and will be at Burton and Huddersfield but we can not keep saying it will get better eventually. We are 2 points off the play offs despite our away form. Imagine if we improved !

  19. The problem is that not all Boomers are rich. Also most Pensioners are not Boomers. My 89 year old MIL certainly is not. Changing the winter fuel allowance was 100% the right thing to do. How the Govt did it was stupid.

  21. Nope. It was universal. It’s been discussed many times. My own thought was £20,000. You’re right, every pensioner doesn’t need it. Many do though. Ms. Reeves took it from everyone last year without any consideration for the poor ones who relied on it without warning. It was the start of their downfall and it’s got worse since.

  23. Aye you only had to go back 33 years to find a result to show how likely it was. I think we are much likely to win at Huddersfield than I did for the same fixture a week in advance last year.

  24. Just watched this weekend’s Sportscene and TBH lowly Falkirk battered the Huns with an impressive attacking performance. Scott Arfield, now 36, played really well in his new role - didn’t score in this game but he’s bagged 9 in 19 games. The Huns are a mess and their fans are delusional. All the blame falls on Martin but TBF their players just aren’t good enough, bar Jack Butland.

  25. When you say at this stage…. We are 11 games into a 46 game season so about a quarter of the way through the season. Points dropped now are just as important as those dropped in the run in. The longer we go without an away win the more we need to catch up. Blackpool was miles better than Northampton , early season I was happy that we were playing well and thought things would click. We are getting there at home, no such signs away from home. All I think L/H and I are saying is that our away form needs to improve and Saturday is the best chance of doing this. If we do it makes Thursday a much better prospect with the monkey off our backs.

  26. They have done plenty. Not perfect by any means, there is obviously the issue of cutting inside a lot. Nevertheless, they scare the pants of opponents- they are quick and skillful. They have created and scored goals. Of course that's not very much, and they must do significantly better to justify their selection. Likewise Burstow, who missed a sitter at Northampton, and Simons, who only hit the bar last match. Bag o' shite.

  29. I have an issue with the current deregulation of builders and developers... they cannot be trusted. The last time something similar was attempted under Prescott, seventy odd people died in a fire and now we have innocent people unable to remortgage or sell their properties... and we now have Reed in a ridiculous hat shouting "build baby bulld"... I am concerned about what we're going to be left with this time around. I have made a living for the past 20 years rectifying the previous actions of greedy developers and am still attending residents' meetings, to be absolutely truthful the only politician who made any road into the problem was Michael Groves with his Developers Charter.

  31. I'd take a draw at Burton, and Huddersfield, if it was reflective of the game I just don't want to see another away game where we spaff enough opportunities to win then concede on any random occasion they attack and come away ruing our performances in either final third

  32. Evidence isn’t just with us either. @L/H White @Ani Charlton were absolutely rubbish this time last year and some wanted Jones out. And look at Derby above in their promotion season. Ninth after 14 games. They’d had some horrible away performances and had just lost 3-1 at Stevenage. Nobody would have anticipated the run of results to follow. While this league is so open anything can happen yet. While winning at Burton is important, expected, would be the much required kick-start, would start allaying concerns to our away form and would provide the needed result to hopefully put a run together… …not winning shouldn’t have us asking questions of can we beat anyone away.

  37. what did the tories do in their 14 years in charge that you considered virtue signalling rather than doing what is best and right for the country? and what are you on about re: juggernauts? I don't think I'm in a position to stop anything posting on here, so you're right, it won't "work", but then again, my aim is not to try and stop this juggernaut of yours, I'll just sit back and see it delivers a greater britain, or if it's crashes and burns, I don't particulary care either way

  44. stats like this show us what we can all (most?) see - we're playing well but not getting our just desserts. One of two things will happen; the wins will start to flow ... or we'll stop playing well. I'm confident it'll be the former.

  48. Unfortunately under our 19th Century version of democracy the "will of te people" is only considered every few years and then bundled with dozens of other policies. Other democracies have evolved towards "deliberative democracy" where citizens are drawn together into forums to respectfully set the major agenda... of course this will never catch on in our Westminster focused system of autocratic control

  49. Bradford are the only one of the 3 in themselves Stevenage and Lincoln who I think will still be in the top six at the end. They have a really strong squad but also a very experienced squad which will certainly count as the season goes on. The other night they should have been well ahead before Rotherham scored and certainly Rotherham ended up very lucky to cling on after Bradford brought on the battle hardened in Cook and Humphrey’s. They have money and a following to match anyone in this league so they’re one I certainly wouldn’t rule out of staying there.
