Thought Cardiff looked a high level team at times, pressed us well and forced us to make rushed passes. But they were completely toothless. Not a single shot on target is just bizarre for a team that had so much possession. They’ll be up there come the end of the season, but certainly not a team that will run away with it. At the risk of sounding repetitive, we’ve played well all season and not always got what we’ve deserved. Whilst a draw would have been fair today, we were the team ‘looking’ to win it and SS deserves credit for that. Duberry is simply outstanding! Fully expect Brighton to leave him here all season, but he’s above this level! Beyond his obvious quality, his fitness is incredible! We’re so lucky to have him. And I’ll say again. This team will get promoted this season (Disclaimer: as long as Duberry stays with us and stays fit)7 likes

What a fucking day!!! 6 of us who left school 43 years ago in LOV on the ale at 11am. Was a good day but that goal topped it off and made it summat else McGinlay/Blake in LOV was decent entertainment Cardiff were nowt special. Decent in the tackle but if that’s top of the league then it says a lot about this division We were nice, as usual, but end product wasn’t there until…… Bastard cold but glad of the sun on my first time on the East side (apart from the charity game) Stewards vs Cardiff over the segregation netting was fucking funny at the end Cant be arsed picking holes in who did or didn’t do what. 5 pints of Brewdog Black Heart and a slice of toast all day, with a 94th minute winner, and I’m like a pig in shit6 likes

"Utter shite" Fuck me, we have some absolute morons who follow us. Had that game ended 0-0 it would have been a decent result against a very good side.6 likes

They were the best team we've played this season. But fuck me, they're boring to watch.5 likes

To me it was shite as entertainment because it was a game of attrition but if you and others see it different fine. They came for a draw, were happy to slow it down and ensure we got no rhythm going. Half our team were below par today, Forss, Burstow, Desmond and even Simons were way off it because we just had no flow. How anybody can think JDC was good today amazes me. Yes he works hard but he can’t pass 5 yards and certainly can’t cross and for me is a weak link. Neither side wanted to risk losing which made for a pretty boring game. Great for tacticians but not for the purists but in the end it didn’t matter because finally somebody did take a chance and it came off splendidly. Personally I think you’re giving far too much credit to Cardiff and if you go on the Cardiff forums they’ll tell you how lucky they are to be in their position and after today I can see why. We on the other hand have been unlucky but hopefully that’s about to change. i’ll now wait for the abuse from the usual sources for daring to have a different opinion 😁4 likes

Just got back, not read everyone’s posts 1 Cardiff big strong and organised , in many ways best team we have played this year , but lacked any real ‘sparkle’. Reminded me of us, man for man very good but not really a team. 2 What a goal, totally changed the mood 3 Really pisses me of the stick JDC gets. At one point won ball in our half, good ball up front, gets the ball back, puts in a poor cross, it is like we have just released an asylum seeker by us people losing their shit. JDC wins the ball back, gives it ADC, puts in a poor cross, ‘unlucky lad keep going…Cogley get back and cover’. Very enjoyable day, no traffic on way over so went the Carrs shop and tried the chilli beef option, very nice.4 likes

Not much between 2 decent sides, a lot of the ball for them but failed to trouble us at all really. Can’t remember TSL having a save to make? Build up play across the back and in midfield was slow and ponderous and reminded me very much of us in the not too distant past so allowed us to keep a decent defensive shape CB’s were decent today but I think that was Toal’s best game for a while would’ve taken a draw but how many times have we come away with a draw when we should’ve won? So will take that all day long Running out of superlatives for ACD. It’s not just the goals and assists. He works his absolute bollocks off going forward and helping backwards. What a player4 likes

Don't worry, he's not injured.. Just a little anecdote from yesterday Mason Burstow has moved onto my street - I'm putting the recycling out yesterday and he's stood outside my house with his dog and his missus. As my 9yr old lad was stood by me, he's going "Dad look it's Burstow" so I shout "Nathan, sorry to bother you, please can I get a quick photo of you with my son" So he says, Course, no problem - Really friendly and happy to oblige, Spoke briefly to my son and we got the pic. I said "cheers Nathan, appreciate that mate - Good luck on Saturday" Got in the house and my son says "Dad, he's called Mason, not Nathan!" FFS I felt like a right prick!!!3 likes

I said earlier they felt like us over last couple of seasons, more interested in looking like a good team than being one. Forgot to mention earlier that GJ and Toal were both very good today and the keeper did well on crosses. Poor bloke keeps a clean sheet and his shot/goal ratio does not improve 😂😂👍😎3 likes

What a goal, what a finish, pandemonium. Was a one goal game all over and we got it. Cardiff may well have been the best team we've played in terms of technical quality but I'd play them every week over the likes of Stockport, Bradford, even Burton and their ilk, their way of playing suited us, they slowed it down too much and gave us chances of turnovers. Praise for our defending today, if we'd let one in it'd have been a frustrating afternoon, we didn't and gave ourselves the chance of our star man pulling a rabbit out of the hat. Within that defence, credit where its due, JDC was really good, did his defending well enough and tag teamed with ACD to get the ball off them and get us moving, made lots of unselfish runs. That was the sort of win I hoped we'd see in the SS era3 likes

That’s a promotion team’s result. Agree with what a lot of others have said - they were the best team we’ve faced, but too often took the slow option and let us off the hook. Looked for all the world like a 0-0 and ACD didn’t have his best game but fuck me, he’s a match winner. To still have the gas after all the running to produce that in the 94th minute is amazing. If he stays, and stays fit, then he gets us promoted. Special mention to some players that I’ve not been the biggest fan of recently. Cogley had his best game in a long time, really impressed and like the Cogley of a year ago. Couple of loose passes but he’s was otherwise very very good, especially defensively. Toal and GJ. I saw their 2 big lads up top and worried for us. They didn’t find it easy dealing with long balls but defended brilliantly - always in the right place and didn’t give the strikers a sniff. Fair play, I wanted Forino in there but you can’t fault them on today’s performance. Man of the match for me though was Sheehan. Best performance of the season, bossed the midfield, didn’t put a foot wrong, great defensive positions but also really good getting us going forward. Maybe it was the Welsh thing but he was top drawer. Those 2 results will be the ones we point to when we get promoted. Huge character and finally we have a team that win the big games! Happy Saturday3 likes

What a result Fckn brilliant Best player we’ve had since Bradley that lad. & he wasn’t even at his best today3 likes

Fuck me, that was late coming, but what a beauty! Excellent team, Cardiff, but we defended as a team. Special mention for Sheehan - not sure whether or not it was we were playing his compatriots, but he did everything I’ve criticised him for not doing in the past, including getting his foot in without giving away daft free kicks. Played really well.3 likes

If Sheehan doesn't take another corner in his career I'll be happy. He's woeful at them and instead a great option to have on the edge of the box for a shot if it's cleared out. Corners aside I thought he was excellent. Did a lot of tough tackling and using the ball really well. The issue today was Forss wasn't really on it so there was no infield option for him to play to. On the game as a whole, I thought we were better than Cardiff but we seemed to be in a no risk mode so crossing opportunities and throw ins into their box were constantly being rejected. Little bit more adventure and I think we win today much more easily as we were better than them all over the park2 likes

Sat in our usual seats in the north lower today & lad next to me & bloke behind me both had strong Welsh accents. After some looks from the usuals, they turned out to be big Wanderers fans from North Wales & hate Cardiff with a passion. I chose not to join in with the national anthem out of respect but couldn’t stop myself from singing ‘sheepshagging bastards, you know what you are’ 😂2 likes

Don’t know how to put it on here but the bench cam has Conway celebrating like one of us in the crowd would do, was same against Huddersfield. Really is one of our own!2 likes

They look like another side (as Huddersfield did) that subscribe to Evatt's belief that pace is irrelevant. Baffling Pep-lite bollocks.2 likes

I don’t think Cardiff were as good as people are claiming, sloppy on the ball, slow build up and no cutting edge. Expect they are better than that but wasn’t impressed with them today.2 likes

Yes, for all their possession and some saying they were easily the best team we've played, I never once felt threatened by them, other than that free header 1st half. Crossing, shooting, passing in final 3rd was really poor and they were strangely lacking any height or pace, at least till the substitutions. On a good day (eg the Wigan or Plymouth performances), we win that comfortably. There really is nothing to fear in this league, nowhere near the standard of Pompey, Ipswich, Plymouth of recent years, its there for the taking.2 likes

Mental how people can see it so differently. Corners I agree with, he’s just not very good at them, but on the ball he was brilliant IMO. Funny old game2 likes

Great result, the team who wanted it more in the 2nd half got the rewards. Clever from Schuey to tweak things at half time, Duberry went more central when on the ball & we took control. Evatt would’ve carried on the same way. Sheehan was great but thought that was a perfect game for a fit Erhahon. That’s a statement win for me……2 likes

Thought George Johnston entered beast mode today. And Toal would have had Usain bolt on toast at one point in the 1st half. Great to see. Someone above said defence won us the game, agree, with a sprinkling of sexy dust from ACD2 likes

Great result, yet another lovely finish late on. He's a magician at this level. I'm almost more pleased with the defence - barring one free header in the first half, Cardiff didnt really ever look like scoring. Well done lads, back to back wins, what a week!2 likes

That is a brilliant result. A draw would probably have been fair but it was us who nicked it with yet another injury time goal. It has been a theme all season and now they are winners rather than equalisers. We all felt low after the shambles at Burton. After that, six points against Huddersfield and Cardiff was better than we could ever have hoped. The four league fixtures in November will refine our thoughts even more. Feels like we are gradually building and slowly improving as the season moves along.2 likes

Next time I go to watch Bolton, I'm going to wait outside and sneak in when they open the exit gates 😆2 likes

Only gripe is nearly all our throw ins when we are in their half always seem to go backwards and then the ball ultimately ends up with our keeper.2 likes

I will always remember first game of the season we played at Ninian park we was sat opposite the ground finishing beers around 89. And there main crew turned up and 5 of of us were boxed in. Got a bit of a kicking but got in the ground just for kick off full of claret. I recall a 2-0 win s5and to be corrected Darby and Philliskirk. But a great day. Work in Cardiff now 5-6 weeks a year still hate these fuckers. They can stick there bucket hats and Welsh flags on there reg plates2 likes

True in every sense of the statement. He was given plenty of time by Sharon and the board (too much in the end). They couldn’t have done any more in terms of supporting him with time, resources and assisting him through his personal troubles. But also up until that last 6 months, he’d lived and breathed it, stuck to his principles (which ultimately was his downfall) and in his limited way gave it the best shot he could. He brought some great players in, played some real entertaining football, reinvigorated a town who have sustained record lower league crowds, provided us with one of the best days out we’ve had watching Bolton Wanderers, brought us back from our dark days and brought us to within a pinch of promotion - I’ll be forever grateful for that. Although I’m actually hoping he does turn out to be limited, inflexible and unwilling to learn, adapt and improve because I’d hate for him to have success at Blackpool! The last I’ll say on Evatt now on this thread. Attention to Cardiff and the whites charge to promotion with Schumacher!1 like

Aye fine margins and all that. Truth be told that Blackpool Wigan double fucked the job up. He never recovered after that. They say he proper lost the plot after those results. Our season never ever recovered and we rarely looked convincing for the rest of season.1 like

Farage is the pied piper for thick cunts just like Trump is in the US. Sure he will also get some rich folk who will feather their nests off the back of his stupidness and division. All while the working class move further and further away from the rich and working class folk convince themselves this is good while their kids can't even hope to own their own home. It would help if the Labour party wasn't so stuck in the past, maybe we need a Reform government to reset the whole fucking shambles.1 like

right, the fundraiser closed a few days ago fair to say we did a "grand" job literally we raised 1,010 from 61 donations brilliant have paid £380 for the next 12 months, leaves us with £630 which covers £380 for the following 12 months, and £250 towards the next prices might increase but not by much I wouldn't have thought we may also need some technical work done on the database/server to accomodate a forum platfrom update that is imminent, asked for a cost on this, waiting to hear back, but I doubt it will cost much will keep everyone posted anyway1 like

I loved one reportedly sung at MK Dons franchise fans by some home fans sympathetic to the original Wimbledon, who were knocking around some minor southern league when starting again from scratch. They were playing away in Somerset that day and the chant from the anti MK home fans... "You're supposed to be at Frome". Genius.1 like
