  1. Have we not reached a stage in evolution where fireworks are just old hat and not enjoyable anymore? Big displays fine, but wankers letting shitty ones off from October onwards, scaring dogs senseless in the process can fuck off. It's not the 90s anymore. We've all heard a loud bang before, very fucking good. They shouldn't be sold to the public.

  2. Hardly shite, just wasn't given a run of games.. He's had dogs abuse for the past 2 years from Bolton "fans", and it needed calling out, because some of our fans are absolute prats. I remember being at Mansfield away and people shouting out to "Kill Cogley".. absolute vile Dan's done feck all wrong, and tried to get on with it. He could have sat on the sides getting a wage from us, yet he's upped sticks and gone north to get football. Imagine people posting on social media constantly saying you're crap etc, having to know it's your own fans and not even being able to try and prove them wrong. Cambridge fans were happy with him till he was injured, St Mirren are happy with him, he's played in the Premiership, we've had enough players injured over the last 3/4 years to realise that it's probably not the players fault, but something going on behind the scenes.. That said, i've seen people calling Dempsey this week and saying he need's binning off for being injured.

  4. Absolute pansy. You've got to have a bit of mental toughness to be a footballer, and confirms he doesn't have it. Get off social media if it's making you cry so much.

  7. Does anyone like International breaks? They are a total pain in the ass. Stopping any team momentum built up, risking injuries and full of boring matches with over excited TV presenters and bland TV coverage because they've paid over the odds for the rights. Well that's my opinion anyway.

  14. I think most of us were surprised the minute Evatt signed him, it never stacked up and injuries made the situation worse. None of that adds up to making it that right for people to act like dicks on social media. All we can do now is wish the lad well in the Jock league and in having to cope with the hideous sound of bagpipes.

  17. Gutted for the stalwarts who have been fucked over at such short notice. Selfishly, if it's a weeknight, I might be able to wangle a little work day at head office in Hitchin and treat myself to a cold, wet December 0-0 in Stev... erm, maybe i'll fire the box up instead 🙃

  20. Ticket office/whoever makes decisions re ticket sales, will be as frustrated as fans. They can't win, if they didn't put them on sale till a week or so before the game they'd get criticised. I'm repeating what I said for the Burton/Huddersfield games, but either no L1 games should be arranged in the first place (as per the championship), or clubs should have to make a best-guess decision at least a month before the fixture and stick with it. Its a joke.

  21. I think it took 12 months as I went down the RTC pathway but I believe it's upwards of 3 years now. I don't personally believe ADHD to my level is a good enough reason to be on long-term disability. But I don't know how much worse it can get and can often be accompanied by other comorbitiies including autism. So I dunno. I personally believe there's bigger issues than the welfare budget which I believe pensions is the largest percentage of by a huge margin, but that's just me.

  24. I missed this and I think its pretty poor form to tell people that their issues, when you don't have a full grasp of the facts "Its normal, crack on" Of course everyone gets distracted from time to time or obsessed. That's not what ADHD is....Re-reading a paragraph a couple of times might be "normal" but being unable to process it after trying for hours on end, with your brain going off on tangents, daydreaming about unrelated things mentioned in the text, or thinking about other tasks instead of the reading material and not being able to stop it, no matter how much effort you put in, is not normal. Nor is obsessing about something ridiculous to the point of it practically stopping you doing what you need to do in your day to day life is either. I don't receive money for it either, I doubt many do, mine is classed as severe and the diagnosis wasn't just an interview about my symptoms either. I take medication and it makes me perform at close to a level a person who hasn't got it can. Not quite the level a non ADHD person does but it helps. On my meds I can feel my mind wander but I'm now able to stop it an pull it back to where it was and finish the task I was doing. Edit to add: I've actually lost jobs and missed out on being promoted for my poor concentration and haven't been able to stay in a job for longer than 2 years so I've never been financially stable..

  25. I posted about this in the politics thread in response to a 'politician' suggested some children diagnosed with ADHD were just "nuisances" and that the root cause of the illness was "bad parenting" Iva also been being treated for anxiety for the past 20 years. I'm not going to lie, it was really hard for me to type this, put it out in the public domain and it's been hard to tell certain members of my family due to how people think it's a made up disease, when I know how much I've suffered with it. I got diagnosed with it about 6 weeks ago, I'm 40. It's a ridiculously complex illness with a lot of symptoms. I have the issues with concentration and it's not about effort I can force myself to read the same page of something 40 times and not have actually read it because my brain is having a chat with itself about something else, just one example. Another one is I can get hyper focused on one thing to worry about and it can go on for weeks. Just a couple of examples. The meds have been great but not without their issues and I can to a lot of stuff I couldn't on the past. I was given the QB test and scored in the 98th percentile of people suffering with ADHD meaning my performance in that specific area (inattention, impulsivity, or activity) was higher than 98% of people in the age and gender-matched control group. Which is quite a relief because I have actually been fired from jobs from not concentrating and making stupid mistakes or getting overwhelmed and my brain shutting down, regardless of how hard I had been trying. I've been titrating on Elvanse and its been hard. Oddly, I actually was able to sleep on it during its peak effects, which is funny as its basically speed! But its helping my concentration which has been a godsend. Oh and I don't claim PIP nor do I have any intention of doing even though with comorbid anxiety I could. I work full time and have a degree.

  26. Acknowledged. It’s not the point that I’m trying to make though. All politicians lie, not just Tories. The ‘thrusters’ are those that believed that this lot would be any different.

  31. He can think what he wants. 1 - he was shit, consistently 2 - twitter isn’t ’Bolton fans’. If you’re daft enough to consider 50-100 kids / delinquents / nonces to reflect a fan base then you deserve to feel unliked. His 2 recent goals were very good, I hope he goes on to do well, seems like a nice guy - still goes down as one of the worst signings, pound for pound, in our recent history.

  37. It would be logical to play on FA Cup 3rd round day if we lose and Posh win, but that also means no decision on the date being made for another 5 weeks which is probably unlikely. Unless we get one of those convoluted one's as we had for Huddersfield away when it was "we might play on such a date unless this happens and that happens in which case we'll move this one to Monday afternoon and play the other one on Thursday morning, not withstanding an away tie in the next phase of the U21s cup in which case that takes priority" or something.

  41. That’s where the logic should be if 11 days beforehand is considered too late to put tickets on sale, then it’s too late to call it off, too. When you think about it, we’re quite literally one of the only clubs in the world in this ridiculous position of having different outcomes for different weekends so UEFA, FIFA, even the EFL will say that we’re an outlier and it works fine for everyone else.

  43. This all sounds oddly familiar! 🤣 On the plus side I am a brilliant judge of character and I can usually figure someone out in about 10 seconds. And I'm really good in a crisis - or when I'm interested in something. But if you ask me to do something that my brain considers drudgery then you'll be lucky to ever get any work out of me. I also need to walk when I'm on the phone or my brain stops working and I'm constantly stimming in one way or another. Even in bed - otherwise I can't switch my brain off. And I'm not just taking about compulsive masturbation here although obviously that's a problem too! 🤣 I spend about £5000 a year on new hobbies which last about a month until the dopamine fix wears off and I have about a hundred books thatvIve only ever read the first chapter of, despite thinking when I bought it that THIS time it would be different.

  44. They reduced the purchasing window some time ago, but it is still too long. If they're not going to ban them domestically, then they should only be available for a few days prior to November 5th- maye from the 1st until the day itself. Plus a maximum amount per person. Ideally though, only public displays by authorised companies.

  45. Clough was a genius , he took journeymen footballers and made them into league champions and subsequently European cup winners twice . John McGovern lifted the European cup, Larry Lloyd , kenny burns , Gary birtles ( was playing non League before Clough found him ) , John Robertson , Frank Clarke , Viv Anderson . He sprinkled some goldust on the team with stellar signings shilton and Francis , but most of his team were unheard of outside Nottingham . He was out of work when Jimmy armfield went to Leeds , many Wanderers fans wanted us to get Clough as manager , instead we promoted from within Ian Greaves Anyway I have a lot of respect for Clough , shame the way things ended though

  48. I’m sure that she’ll respect the Labour manifesto promises. Particularly this promise. “We will ensure taxes on working people are kept as low as possible. Labour will not increase taxes on working people, which is why we will not increase National Insurance, the basic, higher, or additional rates of Income Tax, or VAT.” Whadda girl! 🙄
