  2. Mistakes like that are/were very rare in my time, when as a prisoner is sentenced their dates- parole eligibility date (PED), Home Detention Curfew (TAG), Earliest day of release (EDR), Latest day of release (LDR), Release on temporary licence (ROTL), then the SDS40 and SDS50 were brought in meaning they had to serve at least 50% of their sentence then 40% of their sentence, so there is a lot of work in involved behind the scenes by the prison office staff, prison officers release who they are told to basically by information from a computer

  3. How is this possible. And as much as I can’t stand this current government it’s not their fault (as no doubt many will blame it on khan and Starmer) it’s surely down to the prison.

Imagine threatening to withdraw funding for vital services because you don’t like a democratic election outcome Imagine the outrage if Starmer said Reform councils couldn’t have money if they won a local election, because he didn’t like them…. What an anti democracy childish turd he is And folk on here support it… Whadaguy

  12. I posted about this in the politics thread in response to a 'politician' suggested some children diagnosed with ADHD were just "nuisances" and that the root cause of the illness was "bad parenting" Iva also been being treated for anxiety for the past 20 years. I'm not going to lie, it was really hard for me to type this, put it out in the public domain and it's been hard to tell certain members of my family due to how people think it's a made up disease, when I know how much I've suffered with it. I got diagnosed with it about 6 weeks ago, I'm 40. It's a ridiculously complex illness with a lot of symptoms. I have the issues with concentration and it's not about effort I can force myself to read the same page of something 40 times and not have actually read it because my brain is having a chat with itself about something else, just one example. Another one is I can get hyper focused on one thing to worry about and it can go on for weeks. Just a couple of examples. The meds have been great but not without their issues and I can to a lot of stuff I couldn't on the past. I was given the QB test and scored in the 98th percentile of people suffering with ADHD meaning my performance in that specific area (inattention, impulsivity, or activity) was higher than 98% of people in the age and gender-matched control group. Which is quite a relief because I have actually been fired from jobs from not concentrating and making stupid mistakes or getting overwhelmed and my brain shutting down, regardless of how hard I had been trying. I've been titrating on Elvanse and its been hard. Oddly, I actually was able to sleep on it during its peak effects, which is funny as its basically speed! But its helping my concentration which has been a godsend. Oh and I don't claim PIP nor do I have any intention of doing even though with comorbid anxiety I could. I work full time and have a degree.

  13. Have we not reached a stage in evolution where fireworks are just old hat and not enjoyable anymore? Big displays fine, but wankers letting shitty ones off from October onwards, scaring dogs senseless in the process can fuck off. It's not the 90s anymore. We've all heard a loud bang before, very fucking good. They shouldn't be sold to the public.

  18. I went into the bank to draw 750 quid cash and she asked me why I wanted it...told her straight it was none of her business and if I wanted to buy some drugs in bulk it had nothing to with her. The system is clamping down on small time cash deals between ordinaty folk whilst letting mass financial fraud occur on every high street and disused filling station by people whose age and origin cannot be traced, even if a digital identity card was introduced. Country needs an enema.

  28. Whilst clearly it's not his (or Labours) fault, it is fucking ridiculous, and is the sort of thing that they could really do without. Almost every day there is something else to beat them with. Reform (like Labour last time) don't need to do anything, just keep quiet (not that I think Farage is capable of such a thing)

  32. Dempsey at his best completely balances the team and would be by far our best option in the ‘10’ role. If he’s back at his best then I back him to make a massive difference to the second half of the season, and possibly even put himself in contention for a new contract (Sheehan was in a similar situation a few years ago). Big question is whether he comes back to his best, and can he stay fit for half a season.

  36. The funding is by wealthy people. They did so to fill a gap. That is why it exists. Like many start up companies, it has lost money and had to make adjustments accordingly. Like many successful comapanies, it is now moving in the right direction- that is despite many organisations refusing to advertise on the channel Channel 4 looses shit loads of money, despite bosses getting large bonuses. It has been around much longer, but it going in the opposite direction. A government owned station. Sky news looses large amounts of money. They are owned by a huge American Conglomerate. Presumably then, they also only exist because people are willing to fling money at them? The BBC only exists because people no option to pay to watch numerous other channels. You're blinkered because of visceral hatred, and an unwillingness to accept other views to your own. By your standards, BWFC should not exist.

  39. It would be logical to play on FA Cup 3rd round day if we lose and Posh win, but that also means no decision on the date being made for another 5 weeks which is probably unlikely. Unless we get one of those convoluted one's as we had for Huddersfield away when it was "we might play on such a date unless this happens and that happens in which case we'll move this one to Monday afternoon and play the other one on Thursday morning, not withstanding an away tie in the next phase of the U21s cup in which case that takes priority" or something.

  40. This all sounds oddly familiar! 🤣 On the plus side I am a brilliant judge of character and I can usually figure someone out in about 10 seconds. And I'm really good in a crisis - or when I'm interested in something. But if you ask me to do something that my brain considers drudgery then you'll be lucky to ever get any work out of me. I also need to walk when I'm on the phone or my brain stops working and I'm constantly stimming in one way or another. Even in bed - otherwise I can't switch my brain off. And I'm not just taking about compulsive masturbation here although obviously that's a problem too! 🤣 I spend about £5000 a year on new hobbies which last about a month until the dopamine fix wears off and I have about a hundred books thatvIve only ever read the first chapter of, despite thinking when I bought it that THIS time it would be different.

  41. Some of that sounds very similar to how mine is, I'm a nightmare for if someone is giving me directions "Go down the M6, take junction... I wonder how many first round knockouts Mike Tyson had in his prime, what should I have for me tea... Daz are you listening" ME "Sorry, M6 and then?" This can go on for several rounds before I just say "yeah" because the conversation is becoming uncomfortable. I think the second part of what you are talking about could be hyperfocus, where one part of your job seems more important or more like you will get a nice dopamine reward for it and that's what ADHD brains are short of. But details? It can go the opposite way, I'll start off with the best will in the world to do something well but I get bored of it and end up bodging it to a insane degree just to finish it and move onto something else. Its why I don't do any of my own DIY jobs, its not safe. I had to do something called a QB check where you match shapes of the same colour if they appear twice, its about 15 minutes. I was that bad that the software kept starting again as I thought, it thought I wasnt trying hard enough or was cheating. It was actually because my score was that bad it kept trying to get a reading that is in range. Honestly, it was like Chinese water torture. It took me an hour to get a respectable score. Which was still stupidly bad. It was all video'd and im on camera swearing and smashing the keyboard with my fist. Not a good look.

  42. Part of the problem is that the 'test' is largely self reported symptoms. So some scratter can easily just Google the symptoms and then put themselves down as 'very severe' or 'all the time'. Although I do know someone who had a test where he had to concentrate on a dot on the screen or something for 5 minutes. And he completely flunked it! 😁 I could have told you he had ADHD myself. He can't even walk around ASDA without ringing me and giving me a running commentary. I've been waiting ages for a referral. The best way I can describe it is that the moment I wake up it's BAM! A million insignificant thoughts, ideas and imaginings running through my head. And that lasts all day every day until I manage to go to sleep. It makes it very hard to figure out which train of thought to latch on to. And although I've found ways of making it work - it can be really exhausting at times. That's why I like coming on here and typing my thoughts out - because it makes me slow down a bit. Half the time when I'm having a conversation - I've already thought about a thousand permutations, drawn conclusions and started to put an action plan together while some people are still reading the summary. And it gets really frustrating. But then trying to put that plan into action without some real heavy stimulation to act massively bogs me down. Because I'm obsessing about details. So EVERYTHING gets slowed down. And I think Spider is right and that everyone does elements of this - but in some people it happens to the extent that it affects their lives, relationships and work etc. Anyway - they'll probably tell me there's nowt wrong with me and I'm just being a fanny! 🤣

  44. Does anyone like International breaks? They are a total pain in the ass. Stopping any team momentum built up, risking injuries and full of boring matches with over excited TV presenters and bland TV coverage because they've paid over the odds for the rights. Well that's my opinion anyway.
