Having slept on it, a few random thoughts.......no problem with the SS interview, any pops at the players should be done behind closed doors, but I do think he underestimated Swindon ( who were bang up for it ) with his team selection & his substitutions didn't help. Not his finest hour but not bedsheet time either !! Toal has been great at right centre half but struggled again on the left. An unnecessary change especially with us having a left sided centre half playing ( badly) at left back & Taylor did look like a centre half playing at full back. It's already been said by nearly everyone that it was obvious that we had a lack of physicality in midfield. We're probably becoming over dependent on our wingers & if you stop them (& ACD met his match with their 33 yesterday ) we can look toothless. Every cunt will soon work this out so we need some other attacking threats & could do with getting more out of Forss who is clearly a good player. Some sympathy for Dalby'who is a forward who thrives on crosses but is getting nothing to attack so it must be worth swapping the wingers over more often so instead of cutting inside every attack, they could put some crosses in from wide with their stronger feet. Apart from that, I'm very happy ( & it's all Evatt's fault anyway ) š3 likes

You think he should be doing this every time? Ok thatās your opinion - I disagree with it. And not just because it didnāt work yesterday, more to do with the success heās had on the right this season. Iām not sure why I canāt disagree with you (or anyone) and it be interpreted as Iām trying to call everybody out! Weāre here to debate differences of opinion. I donāt get personal with it. Iāve not insulted anyone who has a different opinion to mine. Ive simply corrected folk on a few facts having seen the game live yesterday š3 likes

Another chalk and cheese example to Evatt. - Called it out for what it was - rubbish - He didnāt sugar coat it - No excuses - No baffling explanations - A level headed response to a very poor day. Heāll keep in-house (as he should do) any individuals that he feels arenāt cutting it along with any self-criticism/reflection about the side he picked. As he said - Mansfield WILL (and has to be) better3 likes

Im not worried, as we're about to go on a 10 match unbeaten run.3 likes

Obviously not and neither it seems is the abysmal performance and attitude of certain players. You canāt just write off performances like that as if they donāt matter. They do.3 likes

Just back.......a horrible journey & a pretty horrible match, though to be fair, I thought we shaded the 1st half, Sheehan played well & Randall (Boooo) did alright, but the wingers were very wasteful & we're very dependent on them & though i'm not a "geddit forward " gobbin, we overdid the playing out from the back & it was obvious we were going to fuck it up. The 2nd half was a shambles. & I stick to my view that at least one of our more physical midfielders - Simons, Erhahon & Dempsey - should always play3 likes

I quite like the fa cup. All those "white hot" games weren't simply flashes in the pan, but part of building towards something even better. We've done nowt in the competition for ages, and we'd all like a big scalp occasionally. Winning on Tuesday would be fantastic, but it wouldn't erase this. Winning several away games soon might show that it wasn't something to get too concerned about, but it will make Tuesday's game that bit more difficult. Fans will be demanding better, and for the amount they're spending to attend away games, they ought to be getting better value.3 likes

Getting knocked out isnāt the worst thing in the world, but the manner of the defeat really was an absolute shambles. A little bit concerning considering we didnāt make that many changes. I know itās a very different scenario to the EFL Trophy games, but it was night and day compared to Tuesday. Nobody covered themselves in any glory, but certainly none of the fringe players gave themselves much of a case for more regular starts. On the bright side, turns out that Swindonās old town is a blinding night out!2 likes

As long as our kids can go to school, do better than we did and we can all see a doctor and be warm. It doesn't really matter where you pay your taxes, it's the hot heads who stick their heads over the parapet who start wars, I hate political ideology2 likes

My view is Schumacher knows his best 11 however because itās a long season is rotating the squad to keep the core 11 fresh for Christmas run of games and come the business end of the season weāre not running on empty. Well thatās my positive spin on where weāre at.2 likes

Think we need to differentiate between judging SS against his predecessor - fine And saying SS is just doing what Evatt did and itās no different - nonsense (and I think is the comparison most of us are being critical of)2 likes

Did SS not see this and change it? Away from home in my opinion we play 3 midfielders as this 2 isnāt working. Also managers have worked Duberry out so why not try him on the opposite wing.2 likes

@bolton va va gives a good first hand view. I donāt disagree with anything he says above. Iāll add to it. Itās a hard one to quantify and explain, but the issue for me was more a collective one than individual one - so SS has to take a large proportion of the blame today. But that said I donāt blame him making rotations and bringing in periphery players - I repeat it was the combinations and the collective output that was the issue today. I disagree with the easy individual criticisms - Randall (who had a decent first half) Cogley (who had the most ineffective ACD in front of him heās had all season) and even Sheehan and Morley never stopped trying (I didnāt see anybody display a shocking attitude out there) they were just poor together and Sheehan often got caught in possession which hindered us. Again as Va va says, I agree, we always need at least one of Simons, Erhahon or Dempsey (probably two!) That left side of defence was awful Toal and Taylor with a lightweight Gale in front should (Iāll vent my inner @masi 51 here) NEVER be seen again š So while it went wrong on many levels yesterday if we learn from it and these mistakes arenāt repeated then Iāll be glad it was today that a 4/0 defeat happened and not a league game.2 likes

Have to agree is SS become fixated with his system just like Evatt was ?1 like

been saying this for a number of weeks...Give Duberry licence to play both wings and that in turn will free a spot for Forss to play alongside Burstow up front A midfield three out of Ehrahon, Simons, Sheehan and Dempsey would also make us stronger and harder to break down1 like

Correct. And the idea that wiinning a bog standard league match at Mansfield makes up for that weedy performance is laughable If the squad isn't good enough to knock a 4th Division team out of the cup and then beat Mansfiekd it won't be getting promoted..1 like

I don't recall sensing a bad attitude from the players in any game. If only it was that simple, we could flush out the bad eggs, but we don't seem to have any. No Mo Salah's here.1 like

Against a 342, you can't play a 4231 unless your middle two have physicality, Sheehan and Morley don't. To cover for them everyone was moving into the middle and dropping too deep which then exposed our back 4. It was very similar to the last days of Evatt stuff, different tactics on paper of course but the same result. We have to be prepared to do something different away from home.1 like

Taking his position to it's illogical conclusion they should have Ian Rush up front & Steve Heighway pinging the crosses in. If he can't see that he's not adding enough, or his attitude is that he should be picked no-matter what then Slot must do whatever he needs to. He'll be off to Saudi in the window I think.1 like

This Salah situation is an interesting one. Repeatedly this season, pundits have shown situations where he hasn't tracked back to help his fullback. Overloads causing the Liverpool defence problems. Maybe managers have sussed out a weakness and have exploited it. That is incumbent upon the manager to address- especially it players on the pitch aren't managing to sort it. As for his comments; effectively saying he doesn't have to earn his place as he's already done it smacks of ego and a damaging attitude to squad camaraderie. He may have played his last game for the club, and it may be a good thing looking forward. Not sure that losing some players has seen them replaced adequately yet, but perhaps it's simply time for a bit of a reset. No one is bigger than a club.1 like

Lot of knickers in a twist about getting knocked out of a cup that no longer has any meaning or financial worth. Very little interest shown in it which would of been shown if that fixture was at home and we would of got 4000 on at a tenner a pop. We all know there is one priority and I,m more than happy to stick with that. Chill out1 like

Thanks. Radio had Keith Hill having a right go, but amidst his diatribe were some fair points about Toal playing on the left - even though he plays there successfully for N Ireland - Sheehan caught dithering on the ball etc but things like that can be explained by lack of options due to others not making runs into space to receive. Whatever the reasons, it was a clusterfuck. We knew before kick off that Swindon would be confident of a win and I just feel we needed to treat this game with the respect and preparation it deserved. We didnāt.1 like

Sobering that in the last couple of years Weston Super Mare have a better FA Cup record than us š We'll move on, not the end of the world, but also this shouldn't be played down and dismissed as not important, its the FA Cup not a pre-season friendly.1 like

A good day out ruined by 90 minutes of ineptitude, awful to a man, was looking forward to a good cup run, it is a good job that was in the cup, massive improvement needed for Tuesday1 like

I once accidentally showed my mother in law a drunken picture of me on holiday. I'd put my glasses on my knob where my nose would usually go and then pushed my bollocks up into the lenses so they looked like eyes. Literally on her couch with her on one side and my Mrs on the other. I knew, they knew, everyone knew. But not a word was said! š1 like

Making no excuses but this was a bang in form Swindon team under Ian Holloway. Possibly the worst manager ever to send a mixed bag team of reserves, returning players and fannies into. He'll have them bang at it. Think our man underestimated them. Or our players out there did.1 like

I'm genuinely glad we have Mansfield away in just a couple of days time. Give these fuckers a chance to put it right. It's all well and good playing in our fantastic stadium and pitch in front of 22,000 every week. But we simply have to show up away from home at these tight grounds. Until we do so, we will forever remain in League 1.1 like
