I am long enough a BWFC supporter now to know there are going to be decent spells of next season when we are jjust going to have to wear disappointment. Its all about having the right mindset from the off. The aim is 50 points and fourth bottom or betterr. It is definitely the case that we need significant further strengthening to equip us for that battle. But week by week between August and May we need to individually manage the lows and turn up on Saturday and Tuesday and get right behind the team. Anything other just further reduces our collective changes of getting a foothold in this league. If we survive that first season back I do think as a club and support base we have other gears to go up. We have proved that so often before. But first we have the 2026/7 season to battle our way through.

Enjoyed that. Took my littlun to their first game and they enjoyed it. Bug well and truly back. Roll on Sheff wed
  3. 100% and he’s not the only one to come to that conclusion on here, it’s weird. Being against illegal immigration doesn’t mean you’re a Farage fan.

Its just weird to me how memories seem to be wiped every pre season. Don't over react to friendly results, dont lose your mind over transfers when theres still a month of the window to go, dont over analyse manager comments/demeanor from snippets of interviews that he doesn't want to be giving, dont write players/the team off before a ball is kicked in anger. Rinse and repeat every year!

I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.

It's a fucking pre season game. I know all clubs have the same but fuck me I wonder sometimes if the average IQ of our fans is in single digits.

Seriously what do you expect ? It’s going to be a struggle end of , wether your underwhelmed or not chill out ffs.

I think right now, having just been promoted, I'd rather have a LB that can defend as opposed to one that struggles defensively

Our issues laid bare. Was nowhere near our best winger in L1

Yes, you have to sign up to the montly subscription to watch pre-season friendlies, but you cancel it whenever you want. If you cancel it straight after the game, you'll still have access to WanderersTV for a month.
  11. Correct. I’m against illegal immigration and think Farage is a racist hypocritical wanker. I’m pleased that boat crossings are down c40% and I’d be even happier if there were none. But equally, I’m not a fan of seeing dead people wash up on the beach, so if there are people on boats, they should be helped ashore. Then processed in line with the law (which in my view should be tightened). Also, the fact I think Farage is a racist hypocritical wanker doesn’t mean I’m a yoghurt-knitting, Muslim-loving, Jew-hating commie.
  12. The big debate about immigration aside what this episode does do is draw attention to Spain's possessions along or just off the north coast of Africa. It has to be said that there is an element of hypocrisy about their long-standing attitude to Gibralter given they hold these possessions. Cueta is the largest and the one in the news. Further east there is Melilla, smaller but another enclave with a decent population - and many folks know about these. However there are a number of uninhabited islands, some of which are not much more than a stone's throw from the African mainland. Perhaps the most fascinating is Penon Velez de la Gomera. There are no inhabitants but there is a decent sized Spanish garrison and a helipad. It is very remote so not the same chances of African people arriving en masse as per Cueta the other day. Penon Velez de la Gomera was a large island just off the coast until a huge storm blew up and left it connected to the mainland via a beach. It is now the shortest land border anywhere in the world and you only know you cross over that border when you step over a rope on a beach. One of the world's great ecccentricities.

Still not worried and am looking forward to the role of underdog this season. Loads of other clubs in the same boat. World Cup being loads later this year has had a knock on plus us not knowing what division we were in till a month after everyone else. Is what it is.

"A warm welcome to yellow and black supporters.." Large following in China and Africa then?
  15. Most of the fans of our rivals are having meltdown as well. Preston, Rovers and Lincoln to name a few. Lincoln thumped by 10 man Barnsley this evening and last week a thrashing by Grimsby. Meanwhile we draw with Everton and beat Breda but we're shit.
  16. Aye You can sadly see the odd poster on here has fallen victim to it. Not too long ago I was called a “Muslim shagger” for raising a similar issue

This time last year we had Cogley RB and Cissoko falling over his own feet. Perceptions maybe shaped by one or two enhancing their reputation towards the end of the season. Stephenson, Famewo and Davies look decent additions / improvements, and still plenty time for the likes of Dong to find his feet. And yes, we do need more quality, but those signings are still to come. We'll be reet.

It was half wits like these that got us into trouble with Rico with their stupid insults. Don’t know why people bother or just accept most on there are just dicks.

  21. In the 2024 election, no second preference, Labour (Burnham) got 63.4% of the vote and Reform 7.5%. Reform were never going to win in GM but I guess they will be pleased with their increase in support. I voted for Bev Craig. They aren’t perfect but overall, I’m happy with how things have gone under Burnham and continuation rather than change is the best way forward here. IMO.

But equally, I think some of it is by design. It's not by chance we've brought in all defenders and midfielders and still have most of the budget to play with.
  23. It’s not Farage fault for not being in a position to stop this happening, he rightly flagged it up before anyone else, freedom of movement has played a massive part in this, for that the blame lies with Merckl and the EU. strange you see it that Farage is the problem here in fact not sure why you e brought him into this.

I.just hope the team and manager don't set their stall out just to finish one place above the drop zone. A recipe for disaster, and an excuse to underperform. So long as the team is gowing total commitment, and a touch of quality, we ought to be able to set sights a touch higher than that. Clearly, we're still waiting for a striker, and another wide man, but I still have a sense that central midfield may be a weakness defensively. Would like to see a big, bullying fucker available. A Faye type beast. Yes, he played in defense a lot, but was also strong in advance of them.

This article on the BBC today about the Red Scum caught my eye. Not interesting because it’s them, but because it highlights where most of the prem clubs are with loans. They need all their fringe players this week, next week they can dump them. A bit of patience needed with possible loans. “Manchester United's pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on Saturday will be the final time manager Michael Carrick's travelling party will feature academy players. Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Matheus Cunha are anticipated to return to pre-season training next week, while Belgium pair Senne Lammens and Youri Tielemans will step up the work they began at Carrington on Thursday, so next weekend's encounter with Paris St-Germain is likely to have a more familiar feel.”

Does feel a bit like a 4-5-1, try and 1-0 it kinda job early doors in the season. We might get away with it against Preston, QPR, Lincoln. Against the likes of West Ham and Wolves though, no chance.

Serious point This is what Mrs Manc suddenly realised after years of fighting for a refund on an excursion booked with TUI that never happened and was never refunded after dealing with apps, websites, helplines, etc. Book with a travel agent that you happen to have relationship with and all that stress disappears. He/she responds to texts/Whatsapps/emails and sorts your shit out Do what she does. Find your holiday on TUI/Jet2/EasyJet/whatever and send the details to your favoured travel agent. Won’t cost you more. Might cost you less. Might cost you the same with a private transfer thrown in. Might cost you the same but a local business (possibly a BWFC fan and WWayer) could benefit Yeah I know I’m bigging @Traf and the like up here but I’ve been fucked over too many times by TUI, etc that I had enough years ago

I will price match (at worst) or beat any quote from a reputable supplier. Yes, Jet2, TUI, EasyjetHolidays, Olympic Holidays etc etc and hundreds you won't have heard of. We'll get you the same, if not better deal, you get a human (-ish) point of contact, not live chat or a series of numbers on a phone. Yes, even on a simple one week jolly to Spain, plus we make a couple of quid out of it too. We don't get involved in competing with LH and/or OTB because they're cheap for a reason. Social media is littered with complaints about them. Seriously though, guys (and gals, of course); for your own sanity and peace of mind, use a bloody travel agent, even if it's not me. We're available 24/7 if you've got an issue whilst away and you won't get that with a faceless OTA.

I can't be the only one getting a little anxious about the upcoming season? As things stand, we're gonna get hammered quite often.
  30. Well that’s Tunisia crossed off next years list, thanks all 👍

More comments about Schumacher sounding fed up and defeated after the game. If thats referencing the BBC Sport interview, I just don't hear it like that. He sounds exactly like he always has, to me.

Chill out no need to go ott. This board is for comments and if you can’t hack that then do one. Of course it’s early season and nobody’s expecting miracles but if this team that played today starts the season we’re in big trouble. That’s all people are debating so calm down and stop making childish comments about fans IQ.

They are from Llansantffraid, a small village in mid Wales but only 3-4 miles from Oswestry in Shropshire. They played in Llansantffraid and reached the Welsh Premier League, under the village name, with the backing of the local boy who founded Total Network Solutions. They only moved to Oswestry when Oswestry Town were liquidated and they needed a bigger ground, due to their success.

Think so, & i,ve got some idea that they changed to The New Saints so that they wouldn't have to change the initials on their gear 😄. Also, though they play in the Welsh league, i think they're based & play in England.

Not sure where/what you were watching. Was only on 10 mins and made 2 great overlapping runs. The 1st Instead of Warren giving him the return ball Warren contrived to lose on the half way line leaving them to counter with Larra in their half. The 2nd he got the return ball ran 40 yds and then passed it across the 6yd box to no avail. Looked promising going forward.

  43. Absolutely And I’d say we’re getting to the point where the ‘hysteria’ of some people is beginning to cause similar levels of problems that our broken asylum system is. Our immigration system has become a mess & folk are entitled to be angry about it. It has become unsafe, unfair & people’s fears have been downplayed & dismissed over the years. However this has been jumped on & many on the far right have become hysterical. A lot of racist scumbags seem to be emboldened again White power Nazis marching through Liverpool attacking immigrant shops the other week. Unionists in Belfast burning effigies of Mosques. Folk in Glasgow last week believing false rumours online & rioting outside a venue that wasn’t housing asylum seekers. Then racists attacking delivery drivers & in and screaming go home to random black people in the streets. It’s rife. And blaming the ‘establishment’ does nothing but deflect from the issue & downplay it. Folk have been whipped into a frenzy & the ethno nationalist movement is becoming a real threat. Ironically they pride themselves as honouring our war dead - but they preach the extremism our forefathers fought against.
  44. So they should be, you heathen! Got to have a bit of something moist.
