  1. And what has Roberts done in the 8 years of his career before last season (his only decent season) ??? Defoe scored more didnt he ?? In a poor season by his standards!! What exactly did Lee Trundle do up until he was 25 exactly? Suprised you've not come in for him again this summer! Roberts has been prolific every season of his career bar that one at West Brom in the Prem. Regardless of which league he is in. I'd say he is now in his prime, and certainly regarded by many at ??1.5M as a snip. Especially considering his form last season!
  2. Unless Fortune has been convinced enough already. Be a good utility player though for us, as long as he can keep fit.
  3. Roberts didn't miss the sitters Defoe missed last season. I appreciate that Defoe does well to get into those positions, but then again I've always noticed that our very own great Dane Henrik Pedersen also gets into positions to score. Roberts' goals last season often came from bursting runs outside the area. That's just what we could do with. A bit of pace rampaging into the box instead of going behind and hitting it into the box.
  4. So Defoe is averag and Jason roberts is what ???? Better value, and more suited to our system.
  5. What I'm saying is that Roberts proved a lot more ruthless in front of goal last season than Defoe ever has. And I'm talking value for money: Defoe: Overrated, quick, not a good finisher. Likely to cost over ??10M. Roberts: 28, but a snip at around ??1.5M judging by last seasons form, and how well he should work via our style of play.
  6. Roberts impressed me a lot last season. Still not his biggest fan, and he gets away with far too much the dirty pie-munching ****! But wouldn't half be good to sign him from them. They adored him last season.
  7. Not a big Defoe fan anyway to be honest. Andy Johnson would've been great, Defoe is average.

    Wanchope

He's 30 at the end of next month, and only retiring from international duty. Currently looking for a move back to England.
  9. I origianlly posted this on 606 the day after it happened. Understand? Let's say you're telling the truth and your "mate" does work at Next Generation - how would he know about an altercation in the car park? Is he the car park attendant? I don't get a kick out of posting "this shite", I just hate lazy celebs who think they are above rules and laws. Didn't say anything about him knowing about a car parking incident did I? Just said he talks to players, and I'd have known about it had this been 'last night.' Not that I at all believe you in the slightest. Loser.
  10. Firstly, I said it happened 3 weeks ago, not last night. Secondly, if you DID know someone who worked at Next Generation in Chorley you???d know that is where the BWFC players do their gym work. During the season they are there every week and even in the Summer you still see one or two with their families. Like Stelios. If so, why post ???last night??? and then change your post by adding ???please note, this happened 3 weeks ago???? Secondly, I am well aware of the fact that the Next Gen is in association with BWFC, as my mate often speaks to several players, Stelios included, and assists them with equipment. You are one very weird bint, if you honestly get a kick out of posting shite like this.
  11. How ironic! Mate of mine works weeknights at the Next Gen, and had Stelios been anywhere near the vicinity last night, no doubt he would have told me. Someone???s lieing again just to get attention. No doubt in my mind that you???re some unemployed Bucket-shaker for example, that lives off trying to wind people up on websites.
  12. I'd pick Govou. Not as good as he was a couple of years ago, but has so much pace to burn and can play on either wing.
  13. Natasha has a Ferrari? There is no way that a muppet like this can be on here all day and be rich. In the workplace now are ya? Wish I had your job. Fcukin idiot! As for Youri, we'd be back in the lower league without him. You have no idea or proof as to what occured with 'Le God' behind closed doors, so why lie????? Stubbs played a huge part at the back, he was a young captain for a reason, and major reason as to why we started to become a bigger club. Okocha???? I've never seen one player make such an impact in one season in a white shirt. Most notably in the Prem! Ricketts was the fire power needed to get us up, and he kept us up with his 12 goals the season after. Only two of these players left on sour terms. And we still have a lot to be thankful for! Who do you actually support?
  14. I got Liverpool. Favourite colour: blue/yellow Sounds just like them to me. Purely because I picked Owen me thinks.
  15. Apart from the free t-shirt, the group photograph and 'souvenir photographs', this is precisely what I did every game a few years back as a ball boy. And I was there for every game, league and cup, and a few friendlies. For free!
  16. Seeing as it's the current home shirt I'd say he did! nope, he didn't, that is Frandsen from when we beat Leicester 5-0 My favourite away game of all time. Brilliant.
  17. Exactly what I was thinking. It's a deffo for me. Far too much weight on whoever that player is for it to be Nicky Hunt. And it's a strange expression on Hunt's face considering the player is jumping for joy. Nicky Hunt never played for the first XI when we had that home kit anyway.
  18. Isn't the Times one of the more honest newspapers? I don't know which paper is best for football gossip to be honest.
  19. Well seeing as I ain't been around enough to see so many World Cups, I'd have to say the my favourite moments would have to be Beckham's penalty against the Argies (4 years of frustration in that penalty), and Owen's solo goal in 98 against the Falkland scum. Disappointments - Losing on pens to the Argies in 98, Campbell's disallowed goal and the Argies equaliser right on fckin' half time. Then there's Sven bottling it when we went behind to Brazil in Korea/Japan. Ps. Will the thread be moved to the World Cup section?
  20. I sure hope so. I'm getting worried by our lack of cover at the back.
  21. I am of the opinion that Joey O'Brien will be a right back throughout his career from now on. Although he's only young, and can still improve, I don't believe he is strong enough to hold down that position in the prem, and his distribution is woeful currently. Things can only get better from him mind, although he may not have the engine to be a midfielder judging on how tired he became towards the back end of the season. Anyway I'm not judging him too early. He's only 19.
  22. Lopera's on his way thankfully! And yeah, I am a Betico. Good work, I thought I was the only Bolton / Betis boy! You stole my crown. Good call that man.
  23. However there was massive outrage over Miccoli last summer before he went to Benfica. Fiorentina decided not to renew his services as they brought in the likes of Luca Toni' date=' and are now a top six side. Top four, if you don't mind! I think Fab's departure from Florence was more to do with Juventus than Fiorentina. The Viola's best three players that season - Miccoli, Maresca and Chiellini - were all on loan from the Turin scum and none of them came back the following season.[/quote'] Aye, thought they were top 4, but didn't pay much attention to Serie A towards the back end of the season, so avoided fcking it up, in case they missed out, by saying top 6.
  24. Lopera's on his way thankfully! And yeah, I am a Betico.
  25. See this could be the turning point. However there was massive outrage over Miccoli last summer before he went to Benfica. Fiorentina decided not to renew his services as they brought in the likes of Luca Toni, and are now a top six side. Inter were offered him and after long negotiations ended interest. Juventus don't want him, Perugia couldn't afford him after having him on loan earlier. I'd make an effort, but try to keep it shtum. Unlikely though. Fckin' agents. [-(
