The lad is pestering me for FC24 on the Switch for Christmas. In my gameplaying heyday I was more of a Pro Evo man, so have no idea when it comes to FIFA or this new version. I keep hearing about player packs and other add on shit that I assume will probably cost a fortune in the long run. Is it really necessary to buy these addons in order to play with the best players? Or is that just Ultimate Team stuff? Can you play online against others without spending a fortune to have the decent players? I just want to buy the game and that's it. I miss the days when every game was like that. Tempted to get the PS2 from the loft and have him make do with PES5.

Blackburn away in 2008 was a bad un. It was the Sunday after Atletico away. Woke up on the floor of Madrid Airport at 5am on the Sunday, still pissed. Minibus back from East Midlands, going up the M61 when a few of us though "fuck it, let's carry on through up to Blackburn and watch the match". Started sobering up at half time for the first time in 4 days. We got dicked 4-1. Got back on the ale straight after the game, missed the last train home. Woke up for work the next morning and thoroughly hated myself. Swansea away in 2011/12 was grim. Lost 3-1, played utter shite, Gardner sent off in what I think ended up being his last game. That was the point where I thought the season wasn't going to end well at all.

I went there for a stag do in 2016. Interesting city, very quirky. Had a great time. As odd as it sounds, there is a tour of the cold war underground bunkers. Was really interesting. Babbelsburg I think they were called. About half an hour train journey out of Berlin. Really decent atmosphere and can sup ale in the terrace stand. Got pissed up on the Saturday, ended up in a karaoke bar and belted out Vindaloo. Not sure the locals got into the spirit of it.

I've found iFollow to be spot on this last couple of months. The co-commentator on our games is decent as well, seems to read the game very well and makes sense with a lot of what he says. A lot better than some of those you get on Sky and BT.
