Can’t wait for Saturday to be over so we don’t have to listen to any more deluded cunts thinking we will finish 2nd. It’s embarrassing

Funny game football. Might have been better waiting until after the game until having a pop at 'deluded cunts'.

I think you are correct in what the result will be. Can't see anything other than a comfortable Derby win. Why set yourself up though? The 1% shot does get up on occasion.

Personally, I hope the deluded cunts are right in this case. For the record, the punters club I am involved in down here does a football double every weekend. Last weekend it was a pissy $1.50 double on Atalanta to qualify (with a 3-0 lead at half time!) and a weekend Braga victory over the bottom of the league.  The latter only got up in the late stages of the game!

This weekend I have been able to persuade them to pair Derby County with the one they had already isolated (barcodes). This time it's a $1.72 double. Even though thousands go on, I won't be disappointed if Derby lose and we lose our stake for only the fourth time this season.

Oh dear, how sad, what a shame.

Let's hope the new bloke fails to slot in and wins even less.

  3. Voyager 1. Astounding to me that they were able to send a fix for a dodgy chip over 15.1 billion miles (way beyond the extent our solar system), taking 22.5 hours to get there, which fixed it from sending back messages of garbled gibberish to understandable ones.

Headed off in 1977 and still expected to be transmitting for at least another year. No solar panels, just a 'long term' battery. There are/were some properly clever people about.

  4. Knowing for your ideal weight is makes for a good start. Having a target. When I feel the Dormeuil tonik trousers (don't even fucking bother if you don't wear Pantherellas) getting tighter at the waistband I have breakfast at 10am rather than 6 am.

Cuts out the 10am snack. Reduce the size of the other meals by around a third. 5.2 kilo's gone in a fortnight. 3.7 to go but as others have said, the rate of loss slows right down after the early success. Reckoning on around 4 weeks to get the rest off - especially after all of yesterdays trifle.

People get too obsessed with the “ he’s not English he’s Turkish “ or whatever.
that’s not the point, he’s a saint , the Patron saint of England ,it’s a religious day so the day is celebrated in England , and should be .
Jesus wasnt English  but there’s loads worship him in England

religious festivals don’t hold the same party style celebrations in Protestant cultures generally historically due to idolatry, so would be more refined service rather than marching around with statues etc and wild parties , probably why St George’s day traditionally a bit low key along with the fact England and the English nationality had never really been under threat or the under dog so the need to demonstrate who they are was never felt required as it was with other nations , Ireland and st Patrick’s day is a good example of the difference there being the exact opposite.
( though the pubs used to be closed on st Patrick’s day and it was the diaspora gathering started the drinking reputation for the day)
maybe people feel their culture is being taken away more these days, whether that be immigrants, “ wokeism” or whatever and want to demonstrate they are still English

maybe people want to show there still an England even if the England they are celebrating never really existed anyway , more one they want to exist , who knows

National days are usually independence days too, which England has never had nor needed to celebrate.

end of the day, people being patriotic, having a few beers and celebrating what they perceive as good about England , no matter what they’re dressed in is no harm , as with everything it’s the line between being proud of where you are from and hating anyone not from where you are from that get blurred with some .

    And again. Very well said.

St Patrick wasn't born in Ireland.

    Yet no bugger seems bothered.

Countries all over the world celebrate their nation/culture in all manner of ways, and are happy to do so.

Only the usual progressive group-thinkers telling folk what they have to believe, how to think and to be anti-English as that's the only way to atone.

I've not put a flag out, been to a party or done anything specific to the day, but it doesn't mean I look down on those that have.

    All the best to them.

    Well said sir.

Isn't a saint a religious thing? Are you religious?

Also George who is regarded as Turkish never killed a dragon as they never really existed in that form

    What's to be English about?

If you have no idea what England has contributed to the world then you are a bigger fucking idiot than I thought you were.

Fucking grim that these bellends exist

Really? Grimmer than the London Bridge attackers / perpetrators of 7/7 / Lee Rigbys beheaders?

Would agree that there may not be a surfeit of grey matter in that assembly but I would much prefer to have millions more like them in circulation in the UK than the perpetrators of the atrocities mentioned or the criminals crossing the Channel.

Forgot for a moment. Owen Glendower more your thing eh?

    That's missing the point, though

It's the suggestion that being openly Jewish is itself a provocation that's caused such a stir

Spot on. There are plenty on here get very hot under the collar about the offensive use of words. Here is a case in point but, unsurprisingly, "this is different".

Reverse it and a muslim trying to cross a pro Jewish march and the copper says "you are openly muslim". Fatwa's, beheadings and the burning of US, UK flags almost guaranteed.

But he was right cocker. Maybe at times you should have a little pause yourself and take the L.

Like his lot jump up and down about Conservative MP's who enjoy lemon parties but wouldn't say a word about the sinister slags tax evasion.

Tribal see? From this point of view I can almost congratulate the misguided fuckwit.

It appears we are all on the same side when it comes to the extinction of the SNP. A rebellion worth supporting.

I never had you down as a fan of matted dreadlocks, cargo pants, Arab scarves and George fashion brand mate. Allied with the perfume of cyanoacrylate adhesive of course.

Still, live and let live - whatever floats your boat. That's what I say ;)
